From last year - a scene from the Painted Desert - it can be as beautiful as other famous southwest areas but is often overlooked!
The desert is part of the "Chinie Formation" and was formed during the Triassac Period. There is a 28 mile drive through it.

Nulle part ailleurs que dans le vide merveilleux des prairies canadiennes et américaines, ai-je ressenti une telle connection avec moi-même et, en même temps, avec l’essence rude et vraie de la vie qui se joue sous l’immensité de son ciel oppressant.

Nowhere else but in the wonderful emptiness of the Canadian and American prairies, I felt such connection with my inner self, and in the same time, with the raw and true essence of life that is played under the immensity of the overpowering sky.

A few stalactites give a wonderful magical look to the Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico. I posted a different shot earlier of different formations and will show more again - so check back.
Portrait 43 - Dark, somewhat surreal portrait exercise using earthy tones and textures. Starting Model image compliments of Unsplash.com.

It was the earthy colors and the symmetric shape of this wild-growing tree which reminded me on a Trilobite - one of those life forms which have lived on planet earth, 521 million years ago. The Trilobites lived successful for a time span of approx. 250 million years. A massive number, compared to the first appearance of the homo sapiens until now.

An older train rail system over the Wind River in Wyoming. Not a busy track but enough to warrant a cool steel bridge!
I'll be on and off through the end of next week!
Location : Gubug Makan Mang Engking, Prigen
Mang Engking hut is a restaurant, design architecture shown dominated material from bamboo, thatched roofs and natural stone. design that emphasizes local wisdom and a more environmentally friendly and specials all floating huts, standing on the pond.
With contoured land, natural scenery around (paddy fields) green which makes it a comfortable place to visit, and its atmosphere is so soothing.
It was a bit of an overview of the existing architecture.
This week's theme for Mosaic Montage Monday was Earthy Patina. It is also Labor Day here in the U.S.A. so I used some patina textures. HMMM!
This American Flag looks like it has worked very hard this year! It might be awhile, but better days are ahead.
I especially would like to honor our people who serve in law enforcement, firefighting and healthcare as well as people who work in the grocery and restaurant industries. You are appreciated!

March 15th!
The patterns and color contrast caught my eye for this image. Although it works in mono - I preferred to go with the color for a more abstract look and feel.
Mount Valley Township - Iowa
The new autumn colors are rich earthy hues kissed by a late afternoon sun. The water level is quite low due to the lack of normal fall rain.
There is still a hint of green in the lawns and pasture areas, but the leaves are pretty much done!

I don't know why this branch always intrigues me. The way the light was at the time and the droplets of rain on the branch as it was raining (camera got completely soaked, its ok though) it had a calming vibe to it. It was also quite foggy at the time and I wasn't sure how I wanted to edit it. I knew that I wanted the photo to feel like a dark gloomy spring day, it was chilly but was mild so I felt like making the colors too cool would make it feel more like winter and wanted the earthy warm tones so this is what I came up with. You can almost feel the dampness.
Winnebago River - Leland
A beautiful morning along the river with blue skies, ice patterns and earthy colors glowing in the sunlight. I like to photograph this area in all seasons to record the changing landscape.
Can you hear the Canadian Geese behind me trying to decide when to start the migration south?
(If there is open water, they don't leave too early!)

When I do still life I always overshoot ending up with many images of the same thing with slight differences ie. angle, light, size, position etc. Then when processing starts, usually only one or two pop out as the one.
If you have followed my streamed for a little while you'll see I've always been a high key shooter but lately I've come to embrace that low key/light results in the shot. For this shoot I even dialled down the exposure a few notches.
This mushroom has gone through a lot while growing up.
A bite mark was left behind by a squirrel who thought it would be something good to eat. I took this looking down at the different earthy designs and textures swirling together.
Thanks everyone for your views, awards, comments, invites and faves.
This week's theme for Mosaic Montage Monday was Earthy Tones. The warm sunshine helped out today! HMMM!
Koumani, Foloi, Elis, Peloponnesus peninsula, Greece.
Deep in the well hidden Centaur forge, the dark background of the high earthy walls presents the enlightened spirit.
Korth's Meadow - Iowa
Our Wednesday was a very gloomy day with fog, mist and rain. What I enjoy is how the wet effects the normally dull earthy prairie grass.
I went for a drive (alone :) just to get out of the house and brought the camera . . . really glad I did! I'm sure some of you will recognize the split rail fence! LoL
