The Dutch Amaryllis is another type of Amaryllis . Its a frost-tender bulb that comes from the tropical areas of South America and the Caribbean. It was discovered in 1828 by Eduard Frederich Poeppig, a young physician from Leipzig, on a plant hunting expedition in Chile.

An authentic Dutch Windmill found at Windmill Island. If you get the chance, the tour inside it worth it. The windmill is very high and the view is great.

The poor beleagued Dutch: this is meant to be a depiction of Hans Brinker, or the little Dutch boy who put his finger in a leaking dike and saved the country from flooding. A wonderful tale - but immortalized by an American. who wrote the folk tale in her book. 1854 I think it was. The Dutch have now even produced a statue somewhere.
