Inside the Holland Tunnel as we were heading over to New York City. There was much less traffic on Sunday morning compared to Tuesday morning,
We travelled 3500 km through Turkey from west to east, from Istanbul via Göreme and Kurdistan to the Armenian border and back. And we loved every minute of it.
After visiting Henk & Anna we went for another very special visit... Maureen!!! (MaureenduLong) In fact, we had already met Maureen at Henk's, and she came in our car to Assen.

William I of Orange-Nassau (April 24, 1533 – July 10, 1584), also widely known as William the Silent [Dutch: Willem de Zwijger], was born in the House of Nassau, and became Prince of Orange in 1544. He was the main leader of the Dutch revolt against the Spanish that set off the Eighty Years' War and resulted in the formal independence of the United Provinces in 1648. The statue: his first wife Anna van Buren.
In the Netherlands, he is also known as the Vader des vaderlands, "Father of the fatherland", and the Dutch national anthem, the Wilhelmus, was written in his honour

Nederlands Stoommuseum (Dutch Steam Museum) in Medemblik at sunset. This pumping station was built in 1869 and has been operational up until 1975. Reason for building it was that windmills could not operate during calm weather. If tides were high, they were not able to drain the water. Using a pumping station powered by steam solved this problem.
