Caracteristic Dutch polder landscape in one of the largest polders of the country, the Haarlemmermeer
Om 7 uur s'morgens wanneer de eerste zon net is opgekomen,
is het in deze polder heerlijk vertoeven met alle vogelgeluiden, zwanen en al de flora en fauna waarvan men met volle teugen kan genieten :)
Maybe a double Dutch angle, for the 'Smile on Saturday' theme.
Or has that Quixote been and had a tilt at it? 😊.
New Holland Honeyeater
≠===================≠
I've been looking for this Mulberry tree for quite awhile, the directions I had been given managed to omit an important fact. Where to start,—before— you turn right, then left, the right again, it's at the back of the fence....
Need I have worried, the New Holland Honeyeater had no trouble finding it.
Bendy beech trees full of nice dense summer greens reflected in a little creek, with quiet waters (as can be expected in a flat country ;-) ). This is about a 30 minute ride from the place I've been born, but I had never been there before...

One of a family Honeyeaters that have dominated a clump of Cape Leeuwin Wattle.
Its lower beak is covered in the spoils of its work.

Giethoorn. Holland.
There are many beautiful villages in the Netherlands, but Giethoorn is something truly special. Also known as the Venice of the Netherlands or the village with no roads, is a place where it feels like you’re entering a fantasy world.
There is such a peaceful and quiet atmosphere, that you’ll want to stay there for a while and forget about everything else. Narrow canals, splendid houses with beautiful gardens (impeccably cared for) and the only noise coming from ducks and water splashing. Over one million tourists visit Giethoorn each year. Regular bus tours from Amsterdam include the highly scenic boat tour on the hand built dykes/canals that run through this amazingly photogenic village. Truly a place like no other that I have visited in 20 years of travelling.
A layer of snow on the first days of spring in the Netherlands. So calm and peaceful are these mornings... Love it.
Jo had to work so i went cycling with one of our dogs Balou. Almost everyone in Holland loves iceskating. I am one of the few who cannot skate!

“Madurodam is a miniature park and tourist attraction in the Scheveningen district of The Hague in the Netherlands. It is home to a range of 1:25 scale model replicas of famous Dutch landmarks, historical cities and large developments. The park was opened in 1952 and has since been visited by tens of millions of visitors. The entirety of net proceeds from the park go towards various charities in the Netherlands.
Madurodam was named after George Maduro, a Dutch law student from Curaçao who fought the Nazi occupation forces, first as a lieutenant in the army and later as a member of the Dutch resistance, and who died at Dachau concentration camp in 1945. In 1946, Maduro was posthumously awarded the Medal of Knight Fourth class of the Military Order of William, the highest and oldest military decoration in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, for the valor he had demonstrated in the Battle of the Netherlands against German troops.”

Prompt: Create a high-resolution, ultra-detailed digital fine art landscape in a horizontal aspect ratio depicting a serene Dutch countryside scene at dawn. The composition features a tranquil canal stretching into the misty distance, bordered by tall, golden-brown reeds on both sides. On the left side of the canal, a small wooden rowboat sits still, gently moored along the bank, its reflection mirrored in the calm, glassy water.
To the right stands a classic Dutch windmill with weathered brick walls and large wooden sails, partially veiled by the soft, early morning fog. Nearby, a lone leafless tree stands silhouetted against the mist, enhancing the quiet, contemplative atmosphere. Faint outlines of distant trees and flat farmland fade into the foggy horizon, creating a sense of peaceful isolation.
The lighting is diffused and soft, with a cool color palette of muted grays, dusky blues, and pale golds. The mood is calm and introspective, evoking the quiet stillness of a mist-covered Dutch morning.
Style: Hyper-realistic fine art
Mood: Peaceful, moody, contemplative
Lighting: Soft diffused morning light through fog
Color Palette: Cool grays, pale blues, golden browns
Resolution: Ultra-high (suitable for large-format prints)
