Honestly, I don't spend much time in the MS Windows OS; I only keep it active for the sake of those few websites and tools that demand it. Almost all my time with this machine that dual-boots from Debian Grub is spent in Linux, the superior Operating System..

After running the Boot Camp Assistant and burning the drivers onto a disc, you're asked to insert your Windows XP CD and restart. The standard Windows setup should begin without issue.

Upgraded the hard disk in the VAIO to 250GB, not being aware there is a 137GB limit on older bios.

Installing XP from the recovery DVDs it writes the normal C:, D: and recovery partition, so you get almost 100 gigs on D:

Then installing Ubuntu which is able to see the second half ( past 137GB ) of the disk fine. But when grub the bootloader tries to load the boot menu, it can only read up to 137GB which can't see the Ubuntu paritition and fails.

Start reinstall from the beginning, this time placing the Ubuntu boot partition and swap space before 137GB ( cutting 10 gigs of D: ), boots ok, but I see that the Disk Manager in Windows can see the second half of the disk as free space even though I formatted it as NTFS, so I ask disk manager to reformat it again, and it says an error has occured please reboot, at which point another grub error has occured. So using the Ubuntu Live CD, I use GParted to take a look at the disk which says it is completely unallocated.

Started reinstall from beginning this time leaving past 137GB all to Ubuntu and having the boot partition in the last 10GB before 137GB.

There doesn't appear to be any BIOS upgrades from Sony. I tried accessing the Ubuntu home partition with Ext2 IFS for Windows but it can't see the partition

Before installing Windows on your Intel Mac, be sure to get the latest firmware update from Apple's support site.

Updating is quick and easy.

Yesterday I made the mistake of upgrading one of the two operating systems on my laptop - it wasn't Windows 7 but the trusty Ubuntu linux that went wrong and I was left with a blank screen. Luckily I keep the files backed up and though it took a while to sort out, I'm up and running again!

Just brought this home to play with. It's an Aspire One netbook that comes with with both Windows 7 and Android operating systems. Will be posting more pictures soon.

I used iBoot ATI-5xxx-3 along with 2.3.0 Multibeast to get osx running.

Once you're in Windows, be sure to load that driver CD you burned to get all your hardware to function properly. Unfortunately, there are still a few devices that don't work, the iSight being one of them. In due time, perhaps?

In this video I will show you all the features of the new iMac 20" computer from apple. I will also show you how to upgrade the ram on this computer which can be upgraded to 8GB. Remember to visit www.aramistech.com/reviews/new-imac-20-review/ for the complete information on this review.

A full screen capture of Walk the Line playing on the Mac Mini while the XBox360 streams MTV Overdrive through the Mac Mini.

Very few people will get this.

For reference, Mac OSX 10.4.10 running on a revision A PowerMac G3.

The harware was built in 1998. A decade later it's running the latest version of OSX, with full gigabit ethernet.

Wed 06.29.11 - Today I installed the Meego 1.2 'MidSummer' Community release on to my Nokia N900's microSD memory card. My first act after booting up to the Meego side of the dual boot was to take photos to see how the N900's camera ran on Meego. The outdoor photos of neighbors Ryan and Tammy results were amusing as the light sensor didn't know what to do with strong sun v. shade, but the indoor photo of Belle turned out as nice as any photo taken on the Maemo 5 side of the Nokia N900.

My internal Mac Mini Intel GMA 950 video properties reports 128MB of video memory; on a 512MB "base model" Core Single 1.5GHz machine.

All of the shading and animation within MCE 2005 is represented, just like on my 3GHz w/1GB DDR HP MCE 2005 machine.

I know, I know...the Mac people aren't going to be happy about this, but it's not my machine. Before you call Steve Jobs, you need to know something.

My father-in-law just got this and all of his software is PC. Buying new software just isn't in the cards right now. So, we loaded BootCamp and Win7.

I'll say this...it's a beautiful machine.

My first day dual-booting XP with Parallels. As surreal as it is seamless.

After an epic two evenings finally got laptop dual boot set up for Ubuntu and Windows XP, ably assisted by the lovely folk over on the workalone mailing list.

Painful is an understatement but mostly because am a complete Ubuntu numpty.
