When you realize it’s pride weekend and your favorite dress is still at the cleaners.

I ran across this vintage dry cleaners sign that was interesting having furrier service.

They like their signs high up in downtown Lander.

Found no trace of the pressing despite the obvious arrow. No more luck with internet. An insurer in 2009, now a bakery.

I thought this was an interesting sign, never seen one quite like it before.

Pantorium Coin-op Laundry & Drycleaning

3970 Salem next to Shoppers Fair

You'll always find this place as bright and clean as you see on this card. Fast Frigidaire washers wash cleaner; spin dryer; save money on the dryers. Lady attendant always on hand 8 AM to 11 PM to assist you on coin-op drycleaning.

Signs above the dryers:

-- "We are not responsible for clothes left in washers-dryers.... The Management."

-- "Positively no tinting or dyeing.".

-- "If you want clean clothes, don't overload washer. Clothes must circulate to get clean."

Glenda the duck likes her roots done once a month.

"Look at this Brenda the duck", she goes, "totally let herself go, how can a self respecting duck show up in public with hair do like that! Greys and all! "

=====

The duck walked right in to the hairdressers, spent a few minutes there walking about , checking things out, then walked out and proceeded to Drycleaners next door, walked in, checked things out , then walked in the direction of a cobbler next door ...

=====

I'd have a perfect soundtrack for it if I only could remember the damn song, it has a line in it "I dye my roots - you ..."

first problem I can't remember what "you" does

second problem I don't remember whose song that is

all I know it is a girl and one of my all time favourites

that can only be one of these girls

Aimee Mann, Dido, Lily Allen, Barbra Streisand, KD Lang, Michelle Shocked, Lana Del Rey, Mary Black

I dismiss Barbra and Mary and KD and Michelle - none of them sound plausible for this line . Dido is a boarderline possibility.

It leaves me with Aimee, Lily and Lana

for the life of me I can't remember the damn song but I do remember it's a good one

my desperate googling spits out recipes for hair dyes

I don't want to dye my efing hair! I want an effing song!

this is very frustrating indeed

PS 4 hours later

... and then sure enough I remembered

and the song is not by a girl

and the line is a bit different but still some roots dyeing going on

and it is a rocking number from one of my favourites so I am happy, I am sure Glenda would love the tune

After looking around the downtown area of Albany, we started toward our hotel when my co-pilot spotted this abandoned neon sign for a defunct dry cleaners.
