Eind jaren '70 verschenen de Amsterdamse drieassers weer meer in dienst door de komst van de nieuwe lijnen 6 en 12 (in 1977) en 5 (in 1978). Op lijn 24 waren toen geen vaste diensten voor drieassers meer ingedeeld, maar bij materieelkrapte verschenen ze daar toch. Anders dan de meeste van zijn collega's had deze trambestuurder hiertegen geen énkel bezwaar
By the end of the 1970s, more and more three-axle tram sets in Amsterdam returned in service due to the opening of several new routes (6 and 12 in 1977 and 5 in 1978). This set was working on a full-day service of route 24 which was scheduled for a modern articulated car - and this driver was one of the few that didn't mind at all

Driving some smaller roads the traffic slowed down for a while. This turned out to be the reason, luckily the driver was thoughtful enough to stop at a bus stop to let traffic pass. What a great sight.
Steam loco drivers are a bit hard to come by these days. Our subject is Cookie, one of the full time employees at the Mount Washington cog railway in New Hampshire. What a bizarre line, the steepest in the world and a captivating mix of anachronisms and modern technology.
