Alpe di Siusi, also known as Seiser Alm, is the largest high-altitude alpine meadow in Europe, set on a vast plateau between 1,680 and 2,350 meters with sweeping views of dramatic Dolomite peaks. Renowned for its breathtaking scenery and gentle terrain, it’s a year-round haven for hikers, skiers, and nature enthusiasts in the heart of South Tyrol.

Captured in October from the shores of Innfjorden in Rauma municipality, this image looks northward across the tranquil waters of Romsdalsfjorden. The faint silhouette of Klungnes emerges in the distance, partially veiled by low-hanging clouds. Autumn has brushed the mountainsides with warm hues, while the fjord mirrors the overcast sky and rugged peaks in perfect stillness. Shot at 1/160 sec, f/10, and 16mm, the composition balances depth, texture, and atmosphere—an ode to the quiet drama of Norway’s western fjords.

Handheld at 1/8 sec is on the edge of where you can go with the Canon 5D. At least it gave some nice movement in the water. F22 to try to slow things down for the water but all told leaves things not as sharp as they could be. They say this is the most photographed lighthouse in the world ! You can see why.

Some scenes do not require a description.

For fans of bollywood cinema, a lot of the scenes for the iconic Dilwale Dunhania Le Jayenege were filmed here, including SRK running on the airstrip.

The moon was full and visible in the sky about an hour after the sun had set and clouds were drifting by and partially covering it, which made for an interesting capture.

As I stood on my landing I waited for a break in the clouds and captured a handheld shot through the window.

The red tinge to the clouds was straight out of camera and created an awesome sight.

I learnt after the event this was the first full moon of the year, called the Wolf Moon.

January's full Moon is called the Wolf Moon, because it's thought wolves howled more at this time of year as there was less food in the middle of winter.

A 3-shot night panorama of (a small part... ) the port of La Trinité-sur-Mer, in Bretagne, France. The overcast sky and the port's lights create quite a dramatic effect. June'15

above the tranquil bay, the sky tears open. light, an ancient secret, spills gold across the water. boats, silent sentinels, drift in the dying glow. a bird, a fleeting thought, traces the border between storm and solace. here, the world breathes out its last, most beautiful sigh, an unspoken promise of return.

A powerful and dramatic sky scene featuring a massive accumulation of cumulus clouds. The sun is hidden just behind one large cloud mass, creating intense, fan-like ** crepuscular rays ** (sunbeams) that pierce through the deep blue sky. The bottom edge is anchored by the dark silhouette of treetops, emphasizing the immense scale and dynamic light above.

Another view of the famous shipwreck of "Dimitrios" (formerly named "Klintholm"), a small cargo ship in the beach of Valtaki, just outside Gythio in the Peloponnese, Greece. You can check the interesting story of the shipwreck in wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimitrios_(shipwreck)

I only had about 2 hours of daylight free today so made a decision to revisit this cottage, a favourite. It's slowly decaying, the front porch has caved in a bit more and I'm sure winter will wreak more havoc upon it. I also decided that this week I am going to learn how to use my digital camera. The light was getting too low for the portra I had in my Nikon
