Sunrise over St Michael’s Mount ߌ卉 nearly wrote this one off at first, but I’m glad I didn’t — the moment the sun broke through the cloud the rays just lit up the sky and the Mount turned into a perfect silhouette. One of those quiet, dramatic Mount’s Bay mornings that reminds you why it’s such a special place to photograph.

The Fiery Path of Stipanja
A fiery summer sky over Stipanja Bay, at the exact moment the sun leaves its final burning trail. While the clouds burn in vivid crimson and deep blue tones, a small boat quietly finds its harbor. Sometimes the silence of the evening is loudest when the sky is in flames. A photograph that speaks entirely for itself.

Ljetno plameno nebo iznad uvale Stipanja, u trenu kada sunce ostavlja svoj posljednji užareni trag. Dok gornji slojevi gore u jarkim crvenim i dubokim plavim tonovima, jedna mala barkica mirno pronalazi svoju luku. Ponekad je tišina večeri najglasnija kada je nebo u plamenu. Fotografija koja sama priča svoju priču.
From the weather apps I use the clouds did not look promising at all but they looked like they held some promise from my house, so I headed for the inlet. I’m glad I did. This was one of the most dramatic sunrises I have seen in a long while and I enjoyed the entire show. (Sony a1ii, 12-24 lens @12mm, 1/30 second, f/16, ISO 100).
Plötzlich tat sich der Himmel auf und 2 feurige Streifen durchschnitten den föhnigen Abendhimmel über dem Karwendel. Diese faszinierende Stimmung entstand kurz vor Sonnenuntergang auf dem Wallberg und bleibt mir lange in Erinnerung....
Suddenly the sky opened up and 2 fiery streaks cut through the evening sky above the Karwendel mountain range. This fascinating mood was created shortly before sunset on the Wallberg mountain and will remain in my memory for a long time....

This is an olive grove in the nearby village of Sillans-la-Cascade. The church sits on the edge of the grove.
