Sunrise time, sun behind clouds and trees

It was quite a windy day when this was taken and not having my usual camera gear with me thought i'd give the new Sony compact a go, boasting a zeiss lens and I had hoped for the perfect opportunity to see how good zeiss lenses are and came across this field where the heavens suddenly decided to open up and I got soaked, this one was taken not long after the heavy rain and managing to capture this dramatic sky over a golden wheat field and when combined with a little bit of sun light just appearing out through the clouds makes for quite a dramatic landscape scene, the wheat is all over the place swaying in the wind.

Processed this purely in LR with a few tweaks and left it at that...

Webb Wildlife Management Area is Florida's oldest Wildlife Management Area and protects 80,772 acres just south and east of Punta Gorda in Charlotte and Lee Counties, Florida.

As we approached Grand Junction, a series of mountain ranges with interesting rock formations appeared on our right hand side along I-70.

My "Beautiful Scenery But No place To Pull Over to Photograph Syndrome" immediately kicked up a notch and a half!

Oh wow, how lucky as we exited the highway for food, a service road allowed us to pull over and me to take a few images of this remarkable mountain peak along with a dramatic looking sky (it was a bit windy and drizzling), all from the comfort of the passenger seat!

Hmmm, should we do a hike up to this peak instead of one in Colorado National Monument?

A quick Google Map lookup gave me the answer: "The best training in town, hands down. The incline sections are nasty and are perfect for mountain training. Very steep and you definitely want to mind your footing to not take a long tumble on the way down." 😱😱😱

For the inquiring minds:

"One of the main geological features of the Grand Valley is the Bookcliffs, a dirt-covered mountain range extending 200 miles, beginning where the Colorado River flows through DeBeque Canyon near Palisade, all the way to Price Canyon, which is near Helper, Utah.

The most noticeable landmark of this range is Mount Garfield, which is only a two-mile hike up, but the elevation change is 2,000 feet, making it a very challenging climb. The crusty dirt on the trail can be slick at times, so hiking poles are recommended, especially on the way down."

I wish you a wonderful weekend!

It's not always about over saturated images with dynamic compositions that win the hearts and minds of people, sometimes images like these can move someone to tears. It almost did me when I captured it. Yorkshire, in the right light, it is just magical.

Storm clouds and rays of sun over ocean horizon

An evening overlooking the beautiful Edale Valley from Mam Tor in the Peak District. The sunset wasn't quite as spectacular as I'd hoped, but the dramatic clouds and soft evening light still made for a lovely scene, with the winding road leading through the surrounding hills.
