This handsome young dog is DOZER, a 1 – 1 1/2 year old Lab/Pit mix who’s gentle, affectionate and eager to please. Since he’s a little shy and submissive, he’ll need very kind handling and training to help him build his confidence. He’s nice with other dogs. Dozer is looking for a calm, loving home.

It’s crazy the things you can see when you're not looking for them. I had just arrived in Whitefish for a day of railfanning and stopped to grab a coffee from McDonalds. While sitting in the drive-thru line I saw truck after truck laden with heavy machinery pass by headed south on Highway 93. To my great surprise the final truck in the convoy was hauling a Great Northern Snow Dozer, yes a snow dozer. I grabbed my coffee and pursued the convoy to Columbia Falls knowing this was a once and a lifetime opportunity to grab some shots. I got this shot at the town pump just west of Columbia Falls where the convoy stopped for fuel.

A Fossa (_Cryptoprocta ferox_) at Marwell Zoo. These curious carnivores are endemic to Madagascar. Taxonomically they are part of the cat-like carnivores (i.e. Feliformia) and placed within the Eupleridae family, along with the Madagascan mongooses.
