Going back through old photos again. I do miss having a plan to go out further than just a few miles.
A Farmhouse just off the great ridge near Mam Tor. I would like to think think the residents have only seen a handful of people during the lock down but i doubt it.

Today is a sad day for me. I lost one of my best friends. If I had to name the three best people I've met, no doubt be among the elect.
I chose this photo because it is made at the place where the employee, who spent thousands of hours in which we spent long hours chatting.
Just minutes before sunrise, I noticed a Blue heron doing something I have only witnessed a few times before. It was floating like a swan in deep waters at the mouth of Silver Glen.
As the needle fish began to break the waters surface, no doubt running from any number of predators, the heron made one quick full body movement and snatched one of them right out of the air. Normally a shore bird, it no doubt placed itself in the middle of the bass/needlefish feeding frenzy much like a grizzly stands at the top of the falls and awaits the leaping salmon.
Here he is at takeoff, heading ashore to enjoy his catch.
When in doubt, just goat for it!
As the sun dips behind the peaks, casting a fiery glow over the rugged landscape, a solitary, young mountain goat stands poised on the craggy ridge. The evening light illuminates its thick, white fur, which contrasts starkly against the darkened rocks beneath its hooves. The goat's steady gaze surveys the horizon, contemplating its next step, embodying the untamed spirit and resilience of wildlife that thrives in these high-altitude environments. This serene moment, where nature's beauty and harshness meet, is captured in perfect harmony. When I lift up the camera all the bad things in life go away... that's why I love photography.
Not sure if we were rolling in poison ivy, not sure if the food we ate was original island cuisine and not sure who the gold digger at TH was either... Wandering alleys with the likes of Sewk, Astro, Punski, Bez and Senck.

No doubt, I love her fur.
This picture was taken four weeks ago and Lola was ready to flee to the garden of the neighbour :-)
Lola has recovered quickly, by the moment. After a week inside the house, sleeping in my bed, taking the medication and eating 4 ó 5 cans of pâte every day, yesterday I let her go out to the garden. Even she has lost her mistrust and the fear of me and she has been very friendly and asking for some cuddles.

I saw them in concert last night. They were truly amazing.
As many opine for the days when the Bozeman Local ran like clockwork and with clean power, no doubt people such as Mark Hemphill yearn for when the MRL #405 plied the rails as DRGW #3047. Although the tonnage on this day won't make a dent in the speed, even with a 1.9% grade ahead, the #405 undoubtedly saw mountain territory in its previous life. The #3047 was one of 22 GP35's delivered to the DRGW between 1964/65. Like most of the GP35 fleet, it lasted just about 28 years, being retired in Dec 1993 along with 17 others. An interesting note is that all 22 GP35's were made to be trailing unit only in 1972, removing cab seats, toilets and radios. I am unsure if this lasted until their retirement or if they were made lead qualified again at some point. Thanks to utahrails.net for the great details! Its an interesting note that by now the #405 has spent close to or more time on the Montana Rail Link than it did the Denver and Rio Grande Western. Time marches on!

...like something out of a fairy tale. I've waited nearly 10 years to capture a scene like this as it is reminiscent from a scene from the Pixar / Disney movie Brave. The winner of the day was without a shadow of a doubt the lighting; the lighting really enhanced the scene as the sunlight began breaking through the clouds, the mist began making its appearance within the confinements of this delicate yet mysterious forested scene. Other contributing factors which need to be acknowledged are the ferns, scattered fall foliage, the moss and darkened areas throughout the frame. Enjoy.

I doubt he'd have seen inflatables and heard the barking of many dogs by the lake....such is modern-day tourism. There seems to be a trend for setting up tents on beaches etc for the day... a sort of un-mobile home

Whitehorse Falls is located on Highway 138 in Oregon. It has accumulated quite an assortment of logs in it and around its plunge pool. It made me want to engage some heavy equipment to remove the detritus! Oh well, I don't have the extra money to do that and it is no doubt illegal to do it anyway!

Today I've once again put my thoughts into music. It's about the quiet doubts we all have. I apologize for any translation errors. Dear Samson read the whole thing for me and corrected a few things, but he also told me that it's not spelled that way in English. Fun Fact :: part 3
Beagles are known for being very vocal, with barking, baying and howling. According to Paw Nation:
"In fact, it is believed the name 'Beagle' comes the Middle French 'bee gueule,' literally 'wide throat,' but more poetically translated as 'loudmouth.'"
The couple and their dog walk up and down our street every single morning. And every single morning he barks at them. They wave and smile at me as I try to persuade him to stop, no doubt thinking they were smart to get a lab.
Northern flickers have returned to northeastern Iowa for another nesting year. Some lucky people in the region have northern flickers visiting their feeder stations all winter but most birds shift south to warmer winter retreats. This guy is going to have a hard time finding ants to eat for a few days since the ground is frozen and I doubt there are any ants crawling around. Leftover sumac and red cedar berries will sustain him in the meantime.
I have always granted myself the freedom to exercise artistic license and pursue whatever brings me joy. Currently, shots from my cellphone and digital AI artwork fulfill that purpose, at least for the time being.
