first, I want you to know that this is a celebration of who *you* are and how you are, more so than this being a particular event for me, even though I won't deny it is very nice. you've been very kind to me. it is very humbling to realize the interest you have in my photography. this is, likewise, a two-way street. I can't begin to tell you how much your work and friendships have influenced who I am as a photographer and a person. I've enjoyed photography off and on for almost 30 years with one formal course in high school being the trigger to my interest in the medium.
stop and think about this for one minute > how beautiful the gift of sight is. without it, this unbelievable experience would pass us by. I'm not only speaking about just *seeing* images, I'm speaking about the ability to share oneself with images, thoughts, emotions, beauty and decay. I'm speaking about it being a safe haven full of support, encouragement, inspiration and friendship. how often have you found this particular type of experience in the course of your lives?
as you may have already experienced at some point, flickr became too much a part of my time during each day. a few months ago, I needed to scale back and spend more time really related to my family. hopefully you understand this. if I'm not around as often, my thoughts are with you and I am managing to do what I can, when I can while still trying to maintain a certain amount of balance in all the things that life contains.

I came across this quote today, and it was perfect. Starting something new is super scary, no matter what it is. It's hard to see past the beginning stages. and it's so easy to get discouraged. as many of you know by now...I love Legos. recently, I've been obsessed with collecting these lego mini figures. I've managed to gather quite a few of them, which is no easy feat. they seem to sell out quite quickly around here...when you can find them they are sealed in mystery packs so you don't know exactly what you're going to get.
