Begehrte Fotomotive in Oberfranken und der Oberpfalz sind bei Eisenbahnfreunden seit dem Fahrplanwechsel im Dezember 2023 die Züge der RE-Linie 2 zwischen Hof und Regensburg, werden sie doch (nach langer Zeit wieder) mit den altehrwürdigen Loks der Baureihe 218 bespannt. Besonders begehrt ist natürlich 218 443 von DB Gebrauchtzug mit ihrer bunten, an die früheren Touristikloks der DB angelehnten, Lackierung. Mit dem frühen RE 4857 hat die auf den Namen "Donna" getaufte Schönheit einen Wald in der Nähe von Marktredwitz verlassen und strebt dem nächsten Halt in Wiesau (Oberpf.) entgegen.
Normally at this time of the year we make a visit to Donna Nook in Lincolnshire to view the breeding seal colony. Alas, like all such trips lockdown means that we will miss this trip this year.

Donna was a Belgian Shepherd Malinois, female.
She was from May 2006 A trained police dog.
She was the dog of a friend and lived in a pack of dogs with Kim, Hadiya, Spot and Luna. Rest in peace, Donna.

This is our boat. I originally thought that it was the Donna II and I was Donna I. Apparently, I have that backwards and the boat is Donna I. It’s not huge, eight feet wide and 19 feet long and holds 8 people. Great for exploring all the rivers and creeks around here.
Not too large for putting it on a boat lift and storing in the barn in the winter.

I preordered this Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece action figure of Marlon Brando as don Vito Corleone from the Godfather ages ago, but it didn't arrive until now. However, good things come for those who wait and this figure has really lived up to the expectations.

Each year from late October to December, Donna Nook in Lincolnshire becomes one of the best places in the UK to witness the grey seal breeding season. This incredible natural event sees hundreds of grey seals returning to the dunes to give birth to their pups.
Female seals (cows) come ashore to deliver their adorable white-coated pups, while the much larger males (bulls) fight for dominance and the chance to mate. The pups, born with their distinctive fluffy coats, are nurtured by their mothers for about three weeks, during which they rapidly gain weight on their mother’s rich milk.
This annual spectacle draws nature lovers and photographers alike. It’s a chance to witness these amazing animals up close in their natural environment, all while respecting the conservation efforts that keep this habitat safe for them. Donna Nook’s viewing area ensures visitors can enjoy this unique experience without disturbing the seals.
