Yesterday we had a visit from our Japanese friend, Mamiko.
Mamiko san is our new acqaintance who is just adored by my girl, adopted pointer, Donna! I managed to capture a moment of their friendly company get together as seen through the eye of my camera...:)

When I was growing up dad always told me that a starlings were pests. As a result I never really appreciated them.
A close look at this one in its winter plumage photographed at Donna Nook last Friday reveals how colourful they are and how wrong both dad and I were.
It's rumored that the captain fell asleep at the wheel. It was originally stuck in shallow water, and later pulled ashore.

Normally at this time of the year we make a visit to Donna Nook in Lincolnshire to view the breeding seal colony. Alas, like all such trips lockdown means that we will miss this trip this year.
Here's an image from three years ago of a mother and pup sharing a moment.
Often regarded as drab birds a pair of colourful Starlings are seen in flight at Donna Nook.
Fingers crossed we will be heading down there again in a months time.

Während meines Urlaubs in der Oberpfalz im Frühjahr diesen Jahres wurde Jagd auf die 218er gemacht, die im Dezember 2023 auf dem RE2 den Alex abgelöst haben. Hier besuchte diese sehr abenteuerliche Fotostelle in Pfreimd, wo es sehr steil in die Tiefe ging. Die ständig schadhafte 218 443 war in diesem Zeitraum erstaunlich zuverlässig unterwegs und zog hier ihren RE2 entlang der Naab nach Regensburg.
Donna Nook is part of coastline belonging to Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, and every october / November 100's of seals come onto the shore / beach and give birth to their young, then mate again before going back to sea in a couple of months
