Le Domaine des Boissets vous raconte la vie d'autrefois sur les Causses et dans les Gorges. Situé en bordure du Causse de Sauveterre, le Domaine des Boissets présente la vie et l'architecture caussenardes. Le village, composé de bâtiments du XVIIe siècle, a été restauré et chacun d'entre eux présente différents thèmes propres aux Causses : l'environnement, la vie paysanne et les caractéristiques architecturales du calcaire. Le hameau (XVIIème), à l'architecture caussenarde typique (voûtes, toits de lauzes calcaires...) est constitué de 6 bâtiments regroupant maisons d'habitation, granges, bergeries, lieux de stockage du grain, four à pain... Ces " maisons " sont aujourd'hui dédiées chacune à la découverte d'un aspect de la vie du Causse. Dans la vaste cour intérieure, autrefois fermée par des murs beaucoup plus hauts, l'aire de battage du blé, encore en place avec ses larges dalles de calcaire, constitue tour à tour une scène pour le spectacle, une piste pour les danseurs les jours de fête, un terrain de jeu pour les enfants, un lieu de méditation où l'on reçoit un message de l'histoire...
Imaginez un instant la vie de 3 familles en ce lieu. Au milieu d’un troupeau de 200 brebis laitières, quelques chevaux ou bœufs pour le travail des champs et la culture des céréales, volailles et porcs pour l’alimentation des familles.

Illustrated with 31 extraordinary water-colour drawings of demons, and three pages of magical and cabbalistic signs and sigils, etc. At the end the figures are in red, and part of the text is written in white on the grey-green paper.
