I have just spent 10 days traveling around Northern Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia and Venice. We clocked up 2,800km in 6 1/2 days and have seen some of the most beautiful places.

The iconic Ranui church below the Dolomite range, taken in the evening using lightpainting with an LED flashlight (whose original batteries STILL function after 3 YEARS of camping and lightpainting), South Tirol, Italy.

The Zoldo Dolomites are one of the mountain groups that form the Dolomites, located in the Province of Belluno (Veneto Region, Italy), making up the south-eastern part of the Dolomites.

Once a seabed, now the most beautiful Alps

Warm versus cool, foggy versus crystal clear. The Dolomites is a region of severe contrasts.

In the morning after sunrise on the long walk back from the well-known photo point on the Alpe di Siusi (Seiser Alm).

I hope you all had a good start to the New Year and wish you always good light!

Ich hoffe, ihr seid alle gut ins Neue Jahr gestartet und wünsche immer gutes Licht!

Five towers. To realize the true size of the tower, it is important to see the people near the right of the image.

Small chapel in Dolomite Mountains near Passo Falzarego, from where we will take the cable car to the top of Monte Lagazuoi :)

The Dolomite Mountains (the Dolomites) are a mountain range in northeastern Italy, part of the Southern Limestone Alps. They are in the regions of Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The Dolomites are mostly made up of exposed rocks – limestones and dolomites and partly – rhyolites. These mountains are characterized by very picturesque terrain caused by their erosion and they are considered one of the most attractive mountain landscapes in the world. A large number of jagged ridges, peaks and rock towers, very steep slopes, cliffs and large vertical rock walls of several hundred meters, deep valleys and karst phenomena create a spectacular landscape. On 26 June 2009, the Dolomites were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Dolomity – pasmo górskie w północno-wschodnich Włoszech, część Alp Wschodnich, leżące w regionach Trydent-Górna Adyga i Wenecja Euganejska.

The Dolomites must be the most astounding mountains I have ever seen.

Especially the Langkofel rise high and are an amazing view.

The Dolomite mountain range is located in northeastern Italy. This section is just east of Bolzano.

This shot features the Ringsptiz on the left (2625m) and Tullen in the clouds on the right (2653m). Both peaks are part of the Peitlerkofelgruppe, a relatively small mountain group in South Tyrol. Another photo taken while on the Greater Dolomites Road.

On our last day in the Dolomites in October we went for the show stopper. So so grateful for this highlight.

I had an extraorinary beautiful morning at Lago di Braies in the italian Dolomites :)

It's one of Europe's top spots for photographers and so at 7am on a normal Tuesday I shared this place with 'only' 20 other people :D

Great view of Puetz-Geisler from Regensburger Hütte.
