Documentation Photo...............This youngster isn't close to being as pretty as his Pop. There is a faint red color on his head that by next spring should be closer to the color of his Dad.
We had a lovely day in the Frederick County Watershed looking for Odes. I was delighted to find this Edward's Hairstreak. Quite a rare butterfly I felt very lucky to have found one! I was only able to get a couple terrible documentation shots before it disappeared.

In Sweden, tulips usually bloom in the spring. When they came to the country is uncertain, but documentation credits Olof Rudbeck the Elders with bringing over the seeds and bulbs after a trip to Holland. In 1685 he had 38 different kinds of tulips in his botanical garden in Uppsala, and the bulbs have spread since those day to many locations around the country.

Lathe of Dreams: Touching the Face of iPod… (aka “Behold the iGod Touch!”)
NOTE: No sacrilege is meant by the title, it was only the first thing to pop in my head at 1:30am last night as I was rebuilding my Apple 32GB iPod Touch with Linux (Pwnage Tool 2.0.1) and iPhone 2.0.
With 4GB on the root partition and 28GB for music, videos, and apps, it truly is a beast of a touchscreen iPod. With gcc, iPhoneOS toolchains, the iPhone SDK, python, and source, much of what I had running on my Nokia N810 is now running (and better!) on my iPod Touch! ...It truly is one godly iPod Touch!
In case you're curious, I am running Universalis and the Roman Catholic Calendar on my new iPod Touch. =) ...I'm not a total heathen nor do intend to be sacrilegous, I just thought it to be one very cool name (with pun intended).

Documentation shot, I wish I would have seen it in the field, maybe I could have gotten a clearer image. My guess so far is a Blue Oat Mite (Penthaleus major). Got to be something in the family Penthaleidae. Maybe I'll get lucky and see it again in the morning if it's not raining. Any ID thoughts welcome cause I've never seen one before. - Anne Arundel County, Md.

Documentation of a series of posters opposing the Green Party. This is unique, because here a private person (communications entrepreneur) interferes with a large-scale and professional poster campaign in the Bundestag election campaign and acts against a parliamentary party. Advertising posters with different contents are a motif that I always like to photograph. I do not adopt the content of the posters as my own.

Nürnberg is the city where Hitler first found the support that would bring him to power. He held massive rallies here - close to this building - that drew more than 200,000 people. The growth of membership in the Nazi party (NSDAP) grew to about 40% of all registered voters by the early 1930s. The post-War trials were also held in Nürnberg, but not in this building.
This huge building, seen in three photos, was designed by Nazi architect Albert Speer, but was never completed. Nor was much of the surrounding complex.
The Documentation Centrum is a very well done exhibit that describes the history of the Nazis with a focus on Nürnberg's role. In addition to the historical panels, there is lots of video from that era. If you have never seen these rallies or a clip from Leni Riefenstahl's propagandist Triumph of the Will, you'll learn a lot here. The construction of the Documentation Centrum is very clever - they embedded it into the Congress Hall, but they didn't want to use any materials used in its original construction. That's why you see these newer sections sticking out of the brick building.
It's definitely worth spending a few hours here if you are in Nürnberg. The scary part is not only that all of this happened, but also that it lays out the step-by-step sequence of how it happened, in a way that some ambitious autocrat could use.
I took the macro out to look for spiders and what did I find!!!! Clay-colored Sparrow! Thank goodness I had my little point and shoot!
A photo I took while on my last trip to Gary, IN with my brother last November.
During this trip, my vision of the types of images that should be made in Gary changed dramatically. Instead of photographing an individual structure and its interior I've decided to move in a direction that showcases many of the changing elements in the area in a natural surrounding - hopefully adding somewhat of a human element to the imagery.
