They say, according to the inscriptions Ariselu / Kajjaya/ Athirasa dates back to 16th century Vijayanagara empire i.e; Sri Krishnadevaraya's time and it was made as an offering to the gods during Deepavali celebrations.
The thing about Ariselu is that it is loved by kids and older folks alike.

Tons of copies of that fabulous book, "Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans," perhaps because one of the BookPeople book clubs is supposedly reading it soon. That doesn't mean you can't go buy a copy if you haven't already. It's a beautiful little book with some excellent essays in it (including mine).
