"A day without laughter is a day wasted."---Charlie Chaplin
When Charlie Chaplin received his honorary, Oscar he received 12 minutes standing ovation, The longest in Oscar History ever
Do you know this mushroom? Is it edible? Something this colorful looks suspicious. We found this mushroom on a hike near the Mountain Research Station in Colorado. The station is located in the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies at about 9500 feet, about 40 miles from Boulder, Colorado.
My special tea mug (I have a special coffee mug too), some super whole-grain toast with local honey and fresh almond butter and banana, and a few stolen moments of quiet time. With myself.
Later I'll repeat this very scene, only I'll be catching up with a dear friend. I can't wait.
Who ever said nothing good happens on a Tuesday?
Longest set of tags ever but she deserves it: THANK YOU ASHLEY!
Yes, she sent this to me from lovely Australia, because it it needed a new home, and it's gorgeous and orange. And also because she is the absolute sweetest ever. So of course I had to photograph it with the SX-70, because we share big SX-70 love.
Also, this is a self-portrait. I swear. There was a reflection of me in the window, just to the left of the decanter. But when it developed, it was just little stars, and that's because I'm actually made of pixie dust.
(Thank God I'm doing Project 365, right?)
Now orange genie, about those wishes...
Do you know what plant species this is? We saw this a few weeks after the snow melted this year. The rosette reminded me of Arabidopsis, but someone who knows more than I do, says it is not so. (On hike from White Wolf Lodge to Lukens Lake, Yosemite National Park.)
got the first vinyl album into itunes & it sounds v good indeed. a couple of hiccups though...
1) exporting from Audacity as an album/multiple batch imported the tracks in reverse order & i can't work out how to fix/re-order in itunes.
2) the move also lost all titles, artist & album info.
quick fix, i'm sure; but anyone out there with any ideas?!

I took a series of photos of this skull, which we found in our backyard, for a contact on another photo sharing site to try to identify. (Yesterday, I posted a photo of Wolfgang, putting his nose into this guy's nose. Wolfie thinks it's his!)
At first, we thought this was the skull of a deer, but now we're doubtful, after comparing it to a skull known to be a deer. The bones sloping out from the sides are too prominent.
Because our lab has similar "cheek bones," we're guessing it could be the skull of a large dog, long since deceased in our development.
I'll let you know what my contact says. Meanwhile, there might be someone on Flickr who can say, "Oh, yes -- that's a ___."
UPDATE: My friend says this is certainly a carnivore. The main clue is the forward-pointing eyes. She suggests that it could have even been a coyote. We do have plenty of those around!
