Francesco Urbani "Pat" (1923 – 2007), cousin of my father.
Born in november 1923 in Villaga from the doctor Alessandro Urbani and Maria Luisa Vignato (sister of my grandfather Filippo). He comes with the family on the plateau of Asiago in 1931, when his father Alessandro becomes the doctor of Canove of Roana. He attended the Liceo Pigafetta of Vicenza with the professor of philosophy Mario Dal Prà. He enrolls in the faculty of Medicine. Following the armistice of 8 September 1943, the two older brothers Francesco and Antonio did not adhere to the call of the Republic of Salò deployed with occupying Germans. They first become draft dodgers and then "rebels" climbing into the mountains. Francesco becomes the partisan "Pat" and his brother Antonio becomes the partisan "Cat" of the Brigade "Sette comuni" in the Asiago plateau. Later also the smaller brothers became partisans: Luisa "Juna", Pier Luigi "Pipi" and Domitilla “Doremi”. From March 1944 he became commander of detachment of the "Seven Communes" brigade. He followed the training of young people coming at the end of the military draft notice. He participated in the recovery of the explosive and the weapons of the allied launches. Fascists and Germans, however, were hunting the two brothers and, in order to capture them, forced their family into harsher harassment. The father, the mother and the sister Luisa were often arrested and taken to Asiago prisons. On April 10, 1944, he surrenders to avoid persecution to the family. It is assigned to the infirmary of the Military District of Vicenza where accomplishes several acts of sabotage. A few months later he returned to make the partisan on the plateau of Asiago. In September 1944, when there was the Granezza raid, there were four brothers in the Black Forest but all managed to get out. Following the raid of Canove on October 14, 1944, carried out by fascists and Germans, the family is forced to temporarily move to Madonna di Lonigo with relatives. While his brothers went to make the partisans in the Bregonze area, “Pat” remained on the plateau of Asiago.
On February 22, 1945, the Alpine Division Monte Ortigara was founded, which also incorporates the Seven Comuni. “Pat” becomes the deputy commander in the partisan company led by Francesco Covolo "Broca" composed mainly of young people from Canove. Battalion “Francesco Covolo” of the Green Flames - Brigade "Sette comuni" - Alpine Division "Mount Ortigara". On May 4, 1945, he managed to avoid death in the last clash with the Germans at Vattaro (Trento) where seven of his companions died. After the Liberation he graduated in medicine and specializes in dentistry exercising the profession for many years in Venice. He died on September 25, 2007 in Pécs (Hungary).

Spanish cromos by Chocolat Imperiale, Barcelona, Card no. 6 of 6. Photo: Do-Re-Mi Film / Dist. J. Verdaguer, Barcelona. Maria Corvin aka Mary Corwyn in Napoleoncina (Lucio D'Ambra, 1918). The Spanish title of the film was Napoleoncilla.
Mary Corwyn plays in Napoleoncina/ L'épopée de Napoléonnette (D'Ambra, 1918) a young girl smitten with Napoleon and his modern lookalike Dr. Toccasana (Achille Viotti). When she discovers her sister (Stella Blu) is in love with the doctor's nephew (Luigi Serventi), but the latter only has eyes for an affected American woman, Miss Wood (Inga Borg), she energetically chases the rival.
Mary Corwyn aka Mary Corwin aka Maria Corvin (1895-?) was a Polish actress, active in Italian silent film. Born Maria Breninski / Breninki in Warsaw, Poland, she was widowed at a young early age and arrived in Italy on a British ship. She was noted in Neapolitan literary circles. In 1916 she was hired by the Neapolitan film company Polifilms, where she acted in 7 films directed by Giulio Antamoro, and distributed by Lombardo Film. She became the 'first actress' at Polifilm, thanks to her blue eyes and photogenic qualities. In 1918 journalist Edoardo Scarfoglio brought her to writer-producer-actor Lucio d'Ambra, who hired her for his Roman film company Do-Re-Mi. She debuted there in Napoleoncina/ L'épopée de Napoléonnette (D'Ambra, 1918). After four more films with D'Ambra, Corwyn returned to Naples for one more film, the Balzac adaptation Vautrin (1919), starring Giovanni Grasso and produced by Lombardo Film. She then returned to act in Il girotondo degli undici lancieri (D'Ambra, 1919), produced by the new company D'Ambra Films. After two more films at Cines and Rosa Films, Corwyn left Italy in 1920, and nothing more is known of her, not even when and where she died.

Some of the Pokemon Japanese Candy premiums that were available several years ago.
The premium in the top row are small but high quality plushies (though the far left one is a 1999 Bandai DoReMi "Friends" Plush). I only have the Marill left in the Pokémon plushies.
Then there is a finger puppet (role playing model) in the middle of the bottom row which shows the box it came in and the candy that comes with it. This is a 1999 Bandai Pokemon "Kid" finger puppet figure still with box and the candy that came with it.
Next to that on the left is a set of 12 postcards showing various "finger puppets" in several different scenes.
On the right is a set of Japanese playing cards which is shown in further detail in this picture.
Leaning on the deck of cards is a Gacha (Gashapon) figure of Pikachu that is apparently meant to interlock with the rest of the figures in that particular Japanese vending machine series. For being so tiny it's quite detailed and quality.
More Pokémon here.
More great DoReMi stuff in other pictures of the photostream.

All these (and may more) need new homes as I'm going to a different country for an extended stay soon so send me a Flickr Mail message (access through the arrow that appears near my profile photo when mousing over it) if interested.
Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me, a name I call myself
Far, a long, long way to run
Sew, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow Sew
Tea, a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to Do

***** I have just discovered that due to ANOTHER numbering mistake (which has now been corrected), I was unaware that today marked the end of my 2nd year of "365 Days"! Tomorrow will start my year 3... if I have the gumption to do another year! Sorry I didn't make today's shot more special to mark the occasion; I know, I'll give it an alternate title! *****
Magical DoReMi candy premium washcloths. There are five (5) in this series as is evident by the 5 different boxes shown here (and which can also be seen on the back of the box in the previous picture). The 5th washcloth is out though still in its delightful clear plastic reusuable pouch that has pink accents. As is often the case with the Japanese snacks promoting TV shows, the candy is mostly incidential. These are a 2000 Bandai Candy Toy Premium.
Also in this shot is a plushie orange Hazuki Fujiwara/Reanne Griffith who is a DoReMi character/best friend. She too is also a 1999 Bandai Candy Toy Premium.
Underneath Hazuki/Reanne is a DoReMi candy plushie doll which can be viewed on the lower left of the box (these photos can be viewed in large sizes too for details like this one). Once more a 1999 Bandai Candy Toy Premium.
And at the bottom is yet another inclusion of the DoReMi Chopsticks. While quite handy for eating, these also would make lovely hair accessories.
All these are from circa 1999 or so.
More great DoReMi stuff in the previous & next pictures of the photostream.

Pauli, not the tidiest girl under the best of circumstances, is still searching for her jammies while the last of her guests arrives.
Taken for the Toy Sunday group, the week's theme is "Pajama Party".
