Danish Red Cross / Pakistan Red Crescent food distribution that took place for 750 families at Fathipur in the SWAT valley, Khyber Paktoonkhwa Province. These are families who have been cut off by the floods because roads and bridges in the area have been washed away. Most had to carry their supplies for 5 hours back to their villages.

General: Seahorses have an odd swimming style – they use their heads to change direction when swimming. When swimming at full speed the fins oscillate more rapidly than when at rest. They are not fast swimmers however and have a unique method for catching food. When a brine shrimp or other planktonic organism swims within 1 or 2 cms of the seahorse it opens its mouth and activates a powerful, jet-like suction that draws the prey into its mouth. The adult seahorse tail is always curled forward and is used to cling on to the weed and prevent the animal from being buffeted around by ocean currents.

Distribution of land in the Peters Colony of North Texas triggered a dispute known as the Hedgcoxe War. The Texas Emigration & Land Co. organized the colony under an 1841 Republic of Texas law which allowed it to keep one-half of a settler's grant. After protests, this right was repealed, but in Feb. 1852 the company was compensated with 1,088,000 acres of vacant land within the colony. This action angered settlers and speculators with land certificates, who feared that the large grant would lower land values. At that time, the company's unpopular agent, English-born Henry O. Hedgcoxe, operated a land office on nearby Office Creek. On July 12 and 13, 1852, a group of Dallas men broke in and examined the land records. They reported to a meeting in Dallas on July 15 that the company was defrauding the colonists. John J. Good (1827-82), later mayor of Dallas, then led a band of armed men to Hedgcoxe's office. Hedgcoxe escaped, but most of his files were seized and the office burned. After the raid, tensions quickly cooled. The law was amended so that settlers obtained their grants from the state rather than from the company agent. The company kept its land grant, however, and Hedgcoxe returned to help survey the tract.

Women Rewarded Solar Lights for Adult Literacy
Solar Lantern Distribution To Adult Women PEP TANDOALLAHYAR Oct12th, 2017
Pakistan has one of the lowest literacy rates in the world. The general understanding of literacy in Pakistan is the ability to read and write and unluckily, millions of people in Pakistan are dispossessed of even this. The situation seems even worse when we look into the urban-rural divide. In rural Sindh, women are most deprived of education due to cultural customs which has created gender inequality and has deprived women to have a voice in the society. Through Adult Literacy Education, Primary Education project PEP is on to change that.
Female Adult Literacy program was initiated in 2016. At present PEP is running 26 Female Adult Literacy (FAL) Centers with 316 Female Adult Literacy members (Adult Students) in different areas of rural Sindh as follows,

There are 6 area officers and 1 WEP coordinator for the implementing and monitoring of the adult literacy program.
As a gesture of appreciation Pervaiz Lodhie President and founder LEDtronics Inc. offered a special gift of a Solar Powered LED Solar Light to the 316 student and 7 program officers.
Funding for the solar lights was provided by one of gentleman from USA. His name is not mentioned here on his advice.
First distribution ceremony was held on Thursday October 12, 2017 in Shaleemabad, Achaar Khaskeli & Shanti Nagar ALCs located in Tando Allahyar districts.
Lt. Gen (Retd.) Syed Perwaiz Shahid a renowned educationist was chief guest for the event.
Ms. Lillian Charles Program Manager PEP and other team members from PEP were present in the event.
During the ceremony 72 female students received solar lanterns. PEP will organize another event in Hyderabad for the distribution of remaining solar lights in November 2017.
The PhilHealth Cards were obtained through the coordination of Office of the Mayor with national and provincial government. Mayor Danny Toreja believes that every Ibaeno should have their PhilHealth card for their medical and health needs. He also included the distribution of books to Day Care Center in the said barangay, July 26, 2012.
