10th Feb 2010, 4.30pm - Dato G. Palanivel and YB Isa Abu Kassim distributing Chinese New Year goodies and Angpows to the needy people at Tokong Mao Shan, Ulu Yam Bharu near Pekan Ulu Yam. A similar function was held at the Dewan MIC, Kuala Kubu Bharu. Also present was YB Wong Kun Mun. Both functions were organised by Dato G. Palanivel and MIC Hulu Selangor with the help of Sports Toto Malaysia.
Hmm... which one is less bad for me?
I was really on the hunt for Nutella, but after comparing these 2 ingredients, I ended up not choosing Nutella because I don't know what modified palm oil is and it's the 2nd ingredient after sugar!
I just did some research about palm oil and learned that the harvesting of it is destroying the environment in Malaysia and Indonesia. :-(
Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra distributed three-wheelers to over 200 physically challenged persons in New Delhi. On Late Rajiv Gandhi's birthday it was supposed to be distributed by Congress President Sonia Gandhi but due to her illness it got postponed.
Rahul and Priyanka, interacted with almost all the people who were given motorised three-wheelers by the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and spent some time with them.
They went to almost every single person, exchanged pleasantries with them and heard their problems.

On the eve of Universal Children's Day , CSDO (Child & Social Development Organization ) Celebrated the day in SCCI . Sialkot Eden Smile Lions Clubs ( District 305 N2) Pakistan, Distributed 150 School Bags among the Children's of CSDO Schools and Spent whole day with Childrens with joyfull moments. Very special thanks to Second Vice District Governor Lion Arif Khawar Butt, Regin Chairperson Lion Danish Abid (Executive Member SCCI) for their Participation and appreciating words. In the end I congratulate Club President, and all the members of Sialkot Eden Smile Lions Club on their exemplary team work and completion of a very successful event.
An Aqui-Gelic Cambosol. These soils distribute oddly in valley plains on plateau, as well as in part of both sides of river valley, valley plain and terraces, as well as depressive flatland of Sanjiang Plain and Songhuajiang-nenjiang Plain. All those areas are with cryic soil temperatue regime and aquic moisture regime. Parent materials are alluvial and lacustrine deposits. Presence of a seasonally frozen layer, and water above the frozen layer create good conditions for the growth of meadow plants and development of these soils. In Chinese Soil Taxonomy, Cambosols have low-grade soil development with formation of horizon of alteration or weak expression of other diagnostic horizons. In Soil Taxonomy these soils are commonly Inceptisols, Mollisols, or Gelisols.

My original photos have embedded GPS time/date/location -- proving when & where I took the photos. I would never falsify a checklist, nor info under my photos, and never have done so. I would never cheat on my Big Day, never trick someone into helping me cheat on my Big Day, never illegally call in a Spotted Owl on my Big Day (or any other day), never trespass. Those practices would be the antithesis of my bird watching, and are clear violations of the ABA Code of Birding Ethics. I was used by Yakima County Big Day listers on May 11, 2013, and don't want others' enjoyment of birding to be harmed in the same way. If you find that you're wrong, whether in a bird identification or in your birding ethics, correct it. Apologize. Be honest about your apology. To the rest: Be careful. Be ethical. Be truthful. Beware of being mis-lead.
Benefactions - Richard Rysley, rector of Stretham gave his estate at Upton near Huntingdon of the then yearly rent of six pounds 10 shillings to be distributed in the following manner:
Christ College Cambridge £3. 10s
Poor of Stretham £2. & the poor of Bridgham £1
Which estate is now invested in the said college, the present rent yearly without fine is £28 of which four thirteenths is due to Stretham, a divided moiety of eleven acres and half of land *held by copy of Thetford Manor) was purchased with the mony received for Upton Fine in the year 1715, which land is now in the occupation of John Hitch, at the yearly rent of £3.10s
The said Richard Rysley bequeathed likewise to the poor of Stretham payable by Christ Colledge yearly at Lady Day 6s. 8d
Gage four houses with right of common to the poor of Stretham by feoffment, to wit the Chequer, now let at £1.6s.10 and three other houses, inhabited by the poor, with the commons appertaining at £2.10s besides the smithys shop at 10s in all per year £14.10s.
1716 Martha Digby bequeathed to the poor of Stretham her moiety of four acres & half & half rood, or arable land called Townshends land, and also her moiety of one acre and helf of arable copyhold, the profits of which to be distributed yearly six days before Easter, to six of the poorest widows in Stretham (without lessening any allowance from the parish) which land is now in the occupation of Furlow Cobley at per ann …. £1.16s
The said Martha Digby bequeathed likewise ten acres of arable land, meadow and marsh to the poorest housekeepers of Stretham, that receive no allowance from the parish, the profits to be distributed six days before Easter and six days before Christmas, which land is now let to Widow Hitch at per year £6.
1727 Lady Effingham Howard gave to the poor fifty pounds the interest of which to be given year to the poor.
( By 1837 the value of the Rysley charity had increased to £18 5s. 8d., which was given indiscriminately in money. Rysley also gave house property in Stretham, including the Chequers Inn and the blacksmith's shop, to the value of £14 10s. No documents relating to this part of the charity existed in 1837,by which date the rents had risen to £81 7s. 6d., including £31 from the Chequers. After payment of taxes (£10) the residue was given in amounts of 5s. to those who could produce tickets signed by 3 feoffees of the charity. Under the Stretham Inclosure Act this part of Rysley's charity was replaced by the allotment of 30½ acres in Starlock Hay Fen Common for the benefit of the school
In 1837 the 2 bequests from Martha Digby produced £27 15s. Of this total £5 were given to about 50 poor persons in sums of 1s. to 4s., and the remainder to the widows
In 1774 the bequest of Lady Howard now £70 was secured on 6 acres in Stretham fields, had been lent to Edward Morden. In 1837 the interest on this loan was also devoted to indiscriminate poor relief. )

Monareliefye.org has distributed today 200 school bags to orphan and IDPs students in al-Mutnabi and al-Manar schools in Wadi Ahmed area in the capital Sana'a.
Our project was funded by an anonymous Kuwaiti donor along with the NGO’s online fund-raising campaign.
The two schools are located at Wadi Ahmed area, the most populated area in the capital Sana'a with almost 100,000 people there. Most families are poor and they can't get their food easily. The area also full of IDPs fled from many provinces in the country due to the ongoing conflict in Yemen.
IDPs chose to live in this area because the cost of rent for houses there is a little bit low comparing to houses in other areas in Sana'a.
Mona Relief's ground crew decided to deliver pupils there school bags due to the situation of their families who they are not able to buy them, bags, notebooks, pens or anything.
Most families there are under the poverty line and they can't provide their children daily food.
As we started distribution school bags to pupils in al-Manar and al-Mutnabi schools, we noticed that each class contains from 80-130 students comparing to the other schools in the capital Sana'a. However, the reason behind that is that there is only two schools in that area which are very close to all students living within.
The huge number of students in the Wadi Ahmed area reflects the suffer of students in each class. We have seen students keep standing all time of his studying day, some other sitting on the ground as others sitting on windows of their classes. Even if there is empty classes, there is enough chairs for all students and if there is chairs and classes, there is a lack of teachers to learn them.

No pun intended, a man sporting a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey passes out "leaflets" for some unknown cause on The Royal Mile in Edinburgh. I spotted him from our tour coach and couldn't resist taking his photo. I guess the pun really was intended.
The Upper Jurassic Morrison Formation is widely distributed in many western American states. The unit consists of fluvial (river/floodplain) and lacustrine (lake) deposits. Dinosaur bones and dinosaur tracks are moderately common in Morrison Formation sediments. Exceptionally dinosaur-rich localities include Como Bluff in Wyoming, Dinosaur National Monument in Utah, Dinosaur Ridge in Colorado, and the Cleveland-Lloyd Quarry in Utah.
Seen here is a dinosaur bone in matrix at Dinosaur National Monument, Utah. The host rock ranges from a sandstone to pebbly sandstone to granulestone to almost a conglomerate, but the pebbles are dominantly angular to subangular in shape. Many granules and pebbles are composed of dark-colored chert. This horizon is famous for an abundance of Late Jurassic dinosaur bones from sauropods, stegosaurs, and theropods. Across the valley from here, the bed was intensely quarried starting in the early 1900s. Many dinosaur fossils ended up at Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but many bones were also left in the rocks for the general public to examine and appreciate. The Carnegie Quarry itself has a structure built over it for protection from erosion. The dinosaur bone-bearing outcrop seen here is outdoors.
