Today's image was taken in the City Centre of Coventry. It is a view of the Grade I listed Old Grammar School. The building was originally built partly as a Hospital and part chapel in the mid 12th Century. The main purpose of the Chapel was to provide care and relief to the poor in the city. After the dissolution of the monasteries during the Reign of King Henry VIII the building was sold to John Hales with the idea that he founded a Free School in the name of the King. After years of standing empty, the building has been restored and refurbished and will soon be used by the Coventry Transport Museum as an extension to the museum.
The photo was taken using the App ExposerGL on my iPhone 6.
First I used the app Snapseed to edit the picture. I cropped and straightened the image, then I used the Tonal Contrast filter. I then boosted the saturation along with some detail in the image. Next I used the app Handy Photo to clone away the street lamppost that was in the way when I took the original photo. After that I used Mextures to apply the guest formula called Shiver by Ana Gomez De Leon. After I used DistressedFX to apply the Stirred overlay and the Vanilla texture. I then flattened the image and then applied the Cole overlay and the Lade texture. Finally I used AltPhoto to add the Expired (pink highlights) Toy Camera filter and frame.
Well it evidently has finally gotten cold enough that flocks of Canadian Geese can be heard and seen heading south for the winter. I just walked outside and heard the unmistakable "honk...honk...honk" of these majestic birds! It is always a wonderful sight to see!
Shot on my IPad and processed with the brand new app by our talented fellow Flickrite, Distressed Jewell!! You can find it in the Apple App Store and it is called "Distressed FX". Download it and support one of "our own"

Today's image was taken early this afternoon in the Coundon area of Coventry. It is a view of St Catherine's Well. This Grade II listed building is without doubt the oldest structure in Coundon and stands in the middle of a residential area. It is situated between a couple of houses and is fenced off and inaccessible. Not a lot is really known about this structure. It is said that this Red Sandstone building dates back to the early 15th Century. It is also said that this Well was once used to supply water to the nearby area of Spon End.
The photo was taken using the App ExposerGL on my iPhone 6.
First I used the app Snapseed to edit the image. I cropped the image and then applied the Tonal Contrast preset. I then applied a little extra warmth and saturation to the picture. Next I used the app DistressedFX to add the Birds as an overlay and the Charm texture. I flattened the image then added the Stirred overlay and the Vanilla texture. Finally I used AltPhoto to apply the Warm Colour Film preset to the image.

Taken last week when we were still in the deep freeze. As you can see, Beaver Lake is iced over, VERY unusual occurrence in these parts. We were out driving around and took a road we discovered and I was excited to find this great vista! Will be coming back often to document the change of seasons. We are now in a warming trend, snow is melted, sun is shining... : )
For Slider's Sunday. Used Snapseed to ramp up contrast/detail and DistressedFX for tones/textures. HSS~

Today's image was taken this evening in the Cathedral Quarter of Coventry City Centre. The view is looking down the narrow cobblestone lane called Hill Top. This is situated just off Priory Row.
The photo was taken using the app Cortex Camera on my iPhone 6.
First I used the app Snapseed to edit the photo. I cropped the image and applied both the Tonal Contrast and HDR Scape presets. I then decreased the Highlights and boosted the Saturation, Warmth and Contrast. Next I used the app LensLight to apply the Top Gradient filter to the image, plus the lens flare to the old street lamp. I the used the app Mextures to apply the formula called Windansea by Justin Halbert. Next I used DistressedFX to add the Starred overlay and the Lade texture. Finally I used PhotoToaster to add the Recover Highlights preset, the Stark FX and the Large Dark Vignette. I then applied the Old Paper texture and the Charcoal frame.
