This particular spirit is distilled from the sap of coconut flowers. It appears that it is distilled in Sri Lanka, the product is then shipped to the U.K. where it is bottled and then shipped back to Sri Lanka. That’s what the label would have us believe anyway! If that really is the case it seems an expensive way of dealing with a relatively low price product with limited demand.
The extraction of the coconut sap from the flowers is quite interesting, and although I didn’t see it being done on a large scale I did see young men scrambling from tree to tree at high level on ropes stretched between the trees.
I can recommend this particular Arrack, although I have to admit it tastes better sitting in a rooftop bar overlooking the Indian Ocean than it does huddled up in front of a fire enduring a British winter.
Distilled,
what was once
is no more
in-filled,
a heart's gallery
beating, beaten, closed
unfulfilled
blood and water
painting a grim picture
instilled
from hermetic embraces
the overriding power
refilled
the eminent belief
enamoured to the end.

Photo distilled to 4 equally-spaced brightness shades each of red, green, blue, yellow, magenta and cyan, plus orange, it was too dark without the orange, which rather threw my colour scheme. And one each of black and white, over a dark blue to dark orange radial gradient. Overlaid with edge-detection lines in 12 colours.
It's late evening, the power goes out, and your sitting around candle light; thought I'd relax and do some recreational photography.
It was a great timing to achieve this shot with empty windows and a slow shutter speed, normally I would have had to black out the windows.

Autumn in my "Moon" garden
For convenience of maintenance and gardening, I divided my garden into two areas that I called, respectively, The Sun and The Moon, according to their position above the garden and seasonal movement in the sky.
I'm glad to see these guys off to a good start, despite the slightly out-of-the-way location. I've enjoyed a couple of nice cocktails there.
The Ardara Distillery - Sliabh Liag Distillers (Donegal, Ireland)
Overview Ardara Single Malt Irish Whiskey is the inaugural single malt from The Ardara Distillery: a triple distilled, heavily peated (55 PPM), “all grain in” whiskey that revives a smoky Donegal style not seen in over a century.
Distillation takes place on three Forsyths copper pot stills; the team uses carefully selected yeast strains and pot stills with downward sloping lyne arms to capture fruity, nutty smokiness. Spirit is matured with a sherry forward sensibility in American bourbon and virgin oak casks, with solera vats employed prior to maturation to ensure continuity of character.
Founders & Place Founded by James Doherty, Moira Doherty, and James Keith, the distillery stands behind a striking glass façade on the Show Field in the coastal town of Ardara, County Donegal. Status: active. Founding year: 2022. Output: ~500,000 L per year. Ardara is the only distillery on the island of Ireland dedicated to peated whiskey using the “all grain in” method (every part of the grain carried through to the wash still).

Status: aktiv.

In the Light
It is a very special when the fog thins and the beams of light shine into the forest.
I enjoy making new friends when out on solo trips like this one. I met one of the photographers in this shot 3 years ago on this same trail. We both returned a year later and met again by chance. The third year we knew we were each coming and decided to meet intentionally. It is always nice to make new friends.

Marischal College is a large granite building on Broad Street in the centre of Aberdeen in north-east Scotland, and since 2011 has acted as the headquarters of Aberdeen City Council. However, the building was constructed for and is on long-term lease from the University of Aberdeen, which still uses parts of the building to house a museum and for ceremonial events. Today, it provides corporate office space and public access to council services, adjacent to the Town House, the city's historic seat of local government. Many Aberdonians consider Marischal College to be an icon of the "Granite City" and to symbolise the zenith of Aberdeen's granite-working industry. The construction of the modern college building began in 1835, following the demolition of previous buildings on the site, and was completed in its present form in the early 1900s. It is the second largest granite building in the world. Formerly the seat of the Marischal College and University of Aberdeen founded in 1593, the building was retained by the unified University of Aberdeen which was created in 1860 by the merger of Marischal College and King's College. The buildings of Marischal College continued to be used for academic purposes until the mid-20th century and less and less until the early 2000s. During this period they were frequently rebuilt and expanded upon. In the mid-to-late 20th century, teaching and academic activities at the university began to move to King's College or Foresterhill (for students of medicine) and by the early 21st century a new purpose for Marischal College was required. After a number of unsuccessful proposals, the majority of the building was leased to Aberdeen City Council to be restored and refurbished as office accommodation. The extensive renovation was completed on schedule and significantly under budget and the building opened to the public in June 2011. The university has retained the Mitchell Hall and a number of other significant parts of the building for its own use, in addition to the Marischal Museum. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marischal_College. The church incorporated into the building is the Greyfriars John Knox Church.
Marischal Square is a mixed use complex on Broad Street, Aberdeen, Scotland. The development is located on the site of St. Nicholas House, Aberdeen City Council's former 14-storey headquarters building, whose demolition was completed on 18 June 2014, after staff had been relocated to the redeveloped Marischal College across the road. The premises is bounded by Broad Street to the east, Upperkirkgate to the north, and Flourmill Lane to the west. Comprising 0.981 hectares, it was developed in a single phase and completed in 2017. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marischal_Square

(Rainer Maria Rilke)
Then let not winter's ragged hand deface
In thee thy summer, ere thou be distill'd:
Make sweet some vial; treasure thou some place
With beauty's treasure, ere it be self-kill'd.
That use is not forbidden usury,
Which happies those that pay the willing loan;
That's for thyself to breed another thee,
Or ten times happier, be it ten for one;
Ten times thyself were happier than thou art,
If ten of thine ten times refigured thee:
Then what could death do, if thou shouldst depart,
Leaving thee living in posterity?
Be not self-will'd, for thou art much too fair
To be death's conquest and make worms thine heir.
William Shakespeare (1564-1616), Sonnet VI
While the Namba area is known for many things; eating, drinking, shopping and karaoke to name a few – shrines and temples aren’t exactly at the top of the list. However, explore just a bit beyond the noise and neon and you’ll discover something that’s dazzling in an altogether different way.
A mere 8-minute walk from busy Nankai station, the Namba Yasaka shrine is the home of the Namba’s guardian deity and part of a once flourishing complex of Buddhist temples that were burned down in wartime air raids.
Namba Yasaka is famous for its lion-shaped stage, which stands out as a unique piece of architecture, especially compared with the austere temple beside it. It’s not hard to draw a parallel with Osaka’s kaleidoscopic mix of traditional, retro, modern and futuristic, distilled at this secret shrine smack in the center of the city’s bawdiest entertainment district.
The lion’s head stage was built in 1975 and has a delightfully retro feel, as striking as something you might find in Las Vegas or a theme park. It stands 12 meters tall and 7 meters deep. It’s believed that the huge lion’s mouth swallows evil spirits and thus brings good luck, especially for those looking to do well in school and business. Because of this many people visit the shrine during exam time or the start and end of the financial year.
The 3rd Sunday of January marks the shrine’s annual festival, during which a huge tug-of-war competition is held. This is to simulate the myth that the shrine’s deity once killed a giant snake that brought peace to the people of what is now the Namba area. The ritual is Osaka city’s first designated intangible folk cultural property.
