My Visual Storytelling Project for MCOM 2301 at Texas Tech University. Students were to develop a visual story (either video, still imagery, or a combination of the two in a multimedia context) that could be proposed to The Hub, the college’s own news and information outlet geared toward a Texas Tech community audience. The final project was the culmination of two phases of story development.

Another aspect of distance learning is the idea that one can be far away from the actual school of choice. Say if a student lives across the country, it might be more financially feasible to take classes from a university online rather than to move out to another part of the country.

A proactive parent’s game plan for the realities of online math classes for children
Students are now pursuing homeschool programs and the comfortable environment, especially for online math classes, might make or break their performance in terms of motivation, concentration, and productivity.
As a busy parent also adapting to the new academe, how can you deliver structure, routine, and positivity in their homeschooling routine?
8 Tips for Families Adapting to E-Learning
The difference between school and homeschool setting is stark and now parents play a bigger role in children’s education. Bridging not just academic but also physical and socioemotional development gap is a challenge that will require time and consistency.
That is why here is a game plan to become a proactive parent for effective online math classes:
1. Plan and execute. Write it down, post on the fridge, or schedule on your phone. Parents’ responsibilities are quite a handful, so list and organize plans and make sure to follow it through.
2. Look at how they learn. Each child absorbs and retains information differently—through visuals, practical application, or group exercises. When choosing online math classes, see if the teaching method matches your child’s way of learning or hunt for free trial classes like what Izumi offers for online math lessons.
3. Create an ideal study space that evokes the same atmosphere as a classroom setting—maybe a sturdy and comfortable desk and chair with plenty of natural light and books—to get them into the learning mindset.
4. Take a screen time recess. Urge regular breaks from digital devices. Holding off for even 15 to 30 minutes can help rest and improve their eye health and encourage offline activities.
5.Go old school. Join them in doing physical activities or playing board games. The more active they are, the more motivated they will become in academics. It will also increase appreciation for offline activities and learn to productively spend time without being web dependent.
6. Stay connected with your kids and their educators. Provide more social learning opportunities whether it be homework dates or online group classes. Communicate openly with their teachers regarding their progress and possible improvements.
7. Be practical. Reinforce basic learning concepts the fun way by citing applications in real situations. Online math lessons can be utilized in fun activities like baking, playing, or decorating.
8. Remember to have fun. Be present and involved in your child’s educational activities now that they spend most of their time at home. Let them lead games or create fun supplementary learning activities.
Put on a game face, puff out your chest, and take on 2021 as a well-prepared proactive parent!

I was hoping a bit more from this tool. A post consists of a 32 character subject line - and a twitter length message. http links don't work.. and its sanitised, so you can't use - swear words or add phone numbers.
Only admins can add to the board, so its really just a space to add sticky notes to your group... perhaps more admin tools are going to come available ( probably at a price ) in the future.

We Want to Go Back! But #OnlyWhenItsSafe!
Teachers protested at a socially distant standout to call on Governor Baker to take action in support of safe and healthy public schools and colleges. Supporters urged Governor Baker to:
1. Establish a uniform requirement for all districts to start the year with a comprehensive distance learning plan. Provide immediate support for access to the internet where it is lacking.
2. Set clear health and safety standards that must be met for the gradual return of in-person learning, including:
•Indoor air quality and ventilation in school buildings that meet appropriate regulatory and industry standards.
•Rapid COVID-19 testing that is accessible, routine, and free to students and staff.
•Community and public health benchmarks are established, met, and reported transparently.
