Soichiro Fukutake (福武總一郎, Fukutake Sōichirō?, b. about 1945) is the president of Benesse Corporation, a Japanese company best known for its distance learning and test preparation schools. In 2006, Fukutake - who has a net worth of over 1.2 billion US dollars - was ranked among the top ten richest people in Japan by Forbes magazine.
Fukutake's father founded Benesse, a corporation whose schools (commonly referred to as juku (塾) or "cram schools") train children to pass entrance exams to allow admission to prestigious schools and universities. Some four million Japanese children between the age of 3 and 18 are enrolled at Benesse schools. Despite the graying trend in the Japanese population, Benesse sales hit a record high of $2.5 billion and net profits jumped 52% to $124 million for the fiscal year ending March 2005.
Fukutake received his Bachelor of Arts degree at Waseda University. He maintains residences in Okayama, Japan and elsewhere in Asia and Australia. A modern art lover, Fukutake is also the director of the Chichu Art Museum on the southern island of Naoshima in the Inland Sea region of Japan.

We Want to Go Back! But #OnlyWhenItsSafe!
Teachers protested at a socially distant standout to call on Governor Baker to take action in support of safe and healthy public schools and colleges. Supporters urged Governor Baker to:
1. Establish a uniform requirement for all districts to start the year with a comprehensive distance learning plan. Provide immediate support for access to the internet where it is lacking.
2. Set clear health and safety standards that must be met for the gradual return of in-person learning, including:
•Indoor air quality and ventilation in school buildings that meet appropriate regulatory and industry standards.
•Rapid COVID-19 testing that is accessible, routine, and free to students and staff.
•Community and public health benchmarks are established, met, and reported transparently.

We needed a get away from our house and COVID-19 isolation.
Rented a 29' Class C RV and visted Pescadero, Felton, and Avila Beach, California. We vacationed from work, but the kids still did distance learning via the Internet.
Also a quick trip the San Juan Bautista Mission.
