Fulda Cathedral (Fuldaer Dom, also Sankt Salvator) is the former abbey church of Fulda Abbey and the burial place of Saint Boniface. Since 1752 it has also been the cathedral of the Diocese of Fulda, of which the Prince-Abbots of Fulda were created bishops. The abbey was dissolved in 1802 but the diocese and its cathedral have continued. The dedication is to Christ the Saviour (Latin: Salvator). The cathedral constitutes the high point of the Baroque district of Fulda, and is a symbol of the town.
About the Bell towers:
The facade is flanked by two towers 65 metres high, the four storeys of which are clearly delineated by ledges. Sandstone statues, greater than life size, by Andreas Balthasar Weber, represent to the right Saint Sturm as abbot, with a mitre, abbot's staff and book, and to the left Saint Boniface as bishop with a crook and a Bible pierced by a dagger. On the third storey are copper and gilt numerals and hands belonging to a mechanical clock and a sundial.
Four massive three-quarter columns accompanied by half-pilasters stand to either side of the main portal and support the architrave, the frieze with its triglyphs and the heavy cornices. On the architrave over segments of a round arch sit two large angels, supporting the arms of the Prince-Abbot Adalbert von Schleifras, sculpted by Balthasar Esterbauer, consisting of the arms of Fulda Abbey quartering those of von Schleifras.
The upper storey of the facade is divided by massive pillars. A large round-topped window is decorated with columns, inflexed arches and urns. The window is surrounded by sandstone sculptures representing the patron saints of Fulda, the twin brothers Simplicius and Faustinus, as knights. Their shields bear their symbol - three lilies - and the cross, the device of the abbey, both of which appear in the arms of the town of Fulda.
The central part of the facade is terminated by a triangular gable filled with urns and a round window. On the point of the gable stands a figure of Christ giving a blessing.
The White-tailed Eagle was the reason i bought a new camera 2 years ago. every time I made a picture of this amazing bird, it was not sharp, because my focus skills and the camera skills were just not good enough and i got frustrated because of it.
And then it is waiting time because they are very rare and although they have their nests in known places, most of the time those are too far away, and also you often can see the birds at very high altitudes.
This shot was made in Eemnes, my favourite bird area, and I could see the eagle coming from far away. And although the eagle also saw me, he/she was not afraid, and just flew in my direction. I could observe it for nearly 20 minutes as it was gliding along the lake's shores until it finally dissolved in the distance.
In dutch their nick name is btw the flying door.

Because the rock consists of limestone (which is slowly dissolved by rainwater) more than 100 caves have formed in the rock. The most famous cave is St. Michael's Cave. The largest chamber in the cave, the Cathedral Cave, was long thought to be so large that it extended all the way to Africa. The Cathedral Cave is now regularly used for concerts and other events.
Archaeological research in Gorham's Cave and other caves has shown that the caves were inhabited by Neanderthals. More than 100 artifacts have been found in Gorham's Cave, dated between 24,000 and 28,000 years old. Plant and animal remains in the caves have shown that the Neanderthals had a varied diet.

The Sinkhole or Cenote is formed over many years of water erosion in the limestone bedrock.
Rain water which is slightly acidic seeps into the ground and dissolve the limestone along lines of weakness.
As the limestone continue to dissolve, the horizontal and vertical weakness developed into a cave.
Over time the size of the cave becomes bigger as the weakend limestones collapsed under their own weight.
Eventually the cave enlarged to a point that its roof could not be supported.
The collapsed of this surface material created the geological
feature called a Cenote or Sinkhole.

For few last days all the clouds were dissolving into nothing by the time of sunset. This evening it looked a bit more promising, so I decided to give it a go. This image of the setting sun over Bristol was taken from a small path off the Cotswold way, a 102-mile long National trail going through Bath and surrounding area. This route is popular with walkers and tourists and in addition too spectacular views overlooking the river Severn estuary and Bristol it also has a section that runs along the place where the battle of Lansdowne was fought in 1643 between Royalists and Parliamentarians during the First English Civil War en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Lansdowne. This historical part of the route is well marked with battlefield markers at the top of Lansdown Hill, and include Sir Grenville’s Monument (www.flickr.com/photos/sergeysmirnov/50149930463/). RECIPE FOR MAKING THE COLOUR BLUE
If you wish to make the colour blue
take a piece of sky and put it in a pot
large enough to place on the flame of the horizon.
Stir into the blue a pinch of early morning red
until it dissolves. Pour everything
into a brass bowl that has been well washed
to eliminate all of the afternoon’s impurities.
Finally, sift in a few smidgens of gold from the sand
of midday until the colour adheres to the bottom of the bowl.
To prevent the colours from separating with time,
drop a charred peach pit into the liquid.
It will disintegrate, leaving no telltale
sign, not even – from the black ash – an ochre trace
on the golden surface. You may then raise the colour
to eye level and compare it with genuine blue.
The two colours will look so alike
that you cannot distinguish one from the other.
This was how I did it – I, Abraham ben Judah Ibn Haim,
illuminator from the town of Loulé. And I left the recipe
for whoever, one day, would imitate the sky.
