After 5 months of working on my dissertation, I am finally drafting my conclusion! I am so happy. It is due in three weeks and I feel like I have progressed so much, and so much time and effort has gone into this one piece of work. I still have more to do though, like proofread and I am waiting on feedback on a chapter from my supervisor, so I will probably have a few changes to make to that, and then the same with the conclusion. But, STILL - I am so close to finishing it, and I am really happy with it too, which is amazing considering this time five months ago I was pulling my hair out and saying 'I will never be able to do this, I don't get it'. I can't wait for it to all be finished, put together and printed out. I think it will be my happiest moment to date. I have enjoyed doing it though - weirdly, though it has been really difficult and a huge learning process, but I have learned so much about the topic I have researched (learning disabilities and healthcare inequalities), it is an area that I am really interested in working in, so I am glad I have had the opportunity to delve to deep into the subject matter.

For reference. This is a contemporary street layer, but the basics still apply. I-35 was built on the route of East Avenue, which was a fairly large street in this period. The Mo-Pac follows the RR line (the thick, dark line) to the west. The low-rent area to the east (lower right) is the segregated black area. Oddly, if you compare this to the education map, the area between the UT campus and the capitol is a high education, but moderate rent area -- I'd guess this is sort of a government/university ghetto.

Exciting stuff.
I incorporated qualities of graphic novels into an effective piece of design. The final item was presented in a protective wallet like a real graphic novel.
My dissertation for a PhD in Aquaculture at Faculty of Biosciences and Aquaculture (FBA), University of Nordland (UiN), Bodø, Norway. Thesis: "Flesh quality and growth characteristics of farmed Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.) in relation to feed, feeding, smolt type and season". Acknowledgements goes to my supervisors; Christel Solberg, Ørjan Hagen and Eldar Å. So I finally sent my dissertation (all 330 pages of it) off to my advisor for his final perusal before it goes to the rest of my dissertation defense committee. It has been a very long journey, but one that seems to finally be coming to an end.
The committee will give me whatever revisions they want me to make, then I will have to go through the dissertation defense process (in early November), but after that, I will officially be DONE!
