Comparing the Oz (Oscar Diggs) dolls made by the Disney Store versus those made by Tollytots, for the upcoming Disney movie Oz The Great and Powerful. The dolls are posed together, and compared in written reviews.

In these photos, the Disney Store doll is on the left, and Tollytots doll on the right, except for the boxed photo, where they are reversed. The succeeding photos have them free standing side by side, wearing their top hats and carrying their traveling bags.
My review will breakdown the differences in the dolls in various physical categories.
Packaging:
The Disney Store doll comes in a plastic and cardboard box, where three sides and the top are clear plastic to view the doll. Once the front plastic lid is removed, the doll is in the clear, attached to the cardboard backing. There are numerous wires, plastic straps and ties to remove to get the doll and accessories out of the packaging, but less than is usual for a female doll with a dress. I decided to leave a couple of T-tabs that pinned his jacket closed.
The Tollytots doll comes in a plastic and cardboard box that has a clear viewing window to see the doll. It is in a box in a box that takes a bit of time to finally get the doll in the clear. Then there are numerous packaging restraints that have to removed to remove the doll from the backing and spacers.
Face:
The Disney Store doll's face is much more movie accurate, bearing a strong resemblance to the movie character. He also has side glancing eyes, darker facial hair, eyebrows that are closer to his eyes, and darker lip color. He has a more serious and determined expression than the Tollytots doll, who has a blank stare and bland expression. His skin color is also more accurate, being a paler color than the Tollytots doll medium tan color.
Hair:
The Disney Store doll has dark brown molded hair, that is in a short curly hairdo. It is close in look to the movie character. The Tollytots doll has rooted hair that is a mixture of dark brown and black strands. It is short and straight, and is fairly neat although it has little hair product, and is soft and resilient. There are a few stray hairs that I was able to tame with my fingers. It isn't very movie accurate, as it is straight rather than curly. However, I appreciate the effort to make his hair rooted, rather than molded, which makes the doll more realistic.
Outfits:
The Disney Store doll comes with a black coat with satin lining, full black satin vest with four buttons (nonfunctional, as it has a velcro closure), white dress shirt with one nonfunctional button (has velcro closure in the back), black satin bow tie (sewn to the shirt), black and gray pinstriped pants. It looks to be fairly movie accurate, but fits awkardly on the Disney Prince body, looking bulky.
The Tollytots doll has a black faux wool coat. Under that is a black satin half vest (a front panel sewn into the shirt) with fake embroidered buttons, then a white satin shirt with a sewn on black satin tie. Finally he has dark gray pinstriped dress pants. The outfit fits much better on the Tollytots doll than on the DS doll, due in large part to the slimmer body of the Tollytots doll.
Shoes:
The Disney Store doll has black patent leather boots, of the usual Disney Prince design. It isn't very movie accurate, as well as looking more like rainboots than dress shoes, and being way too large (to fit the DS doll's huge feet). The Tollytots doll has dark gray ankle high boots that are nicely detailed, and look more movie accurate. They are much smaller and slimmer than the DS shoes, and more fashionable looking.
Body:
The Disney Store doll has the usual Disney Store Prince body, with huge hands and feet, and bulked up torso. The Tollytots doll has a much slimmer body, with smaller hands and feet. His fingers are curled, making his hands much better at holding items, such as the handle of his traveling bag. The Tollytots doll has a more elegant look, which helps his outfit look better on him too.
Articulation:
The Disney Store doll has the usual Disney Prince articulation. His neck rotates about a single plane, and cannot tilt up or down. His arms are ball joints, but his elbows are hinge joints, and he has no wrist joints, so cannot twist his arms or hands around. He has ball jointed hips, but only internal click stop hinged knees, and no ankle joints.
The Tollytots doll has a ball jointed neck, so can tilt his head up and down to an extent, as well as rotate his head around. But his neck joint is rather loose and sloppy, so doesn't hold a tilted pose very well. His shoulder and elbows are ball jointed, so he has more freedom of movement in his arms than the DS doll, and can rotate his hands with his lower arms, for more realistic poses. He has ball jointed hips, but no knee or ankle joints. Overall I think the Tollytots has the better articulation.
Accessories:
The Disney Store doll has a top hat and traveling bag that are close in appearance to the movie props. The top hat has a smooth surface, and taller and wider than the Tollytots doll's hat. It looks and fits better and is more movie accurate. His traveling bag is larger, has wear and scruff marks making it more realistic looking than the plain looking Tollytots bag. However, with the Tollytots doll's curved fingers, he can actually wrap his fingers around the handle of the bag, which the DS doll cannot do. Therefore it looks better on him, and is much easier to secure using a single rubber band. The DS doll needed two rubber bands to secure the bag on his hand, and it still looks less realistic, as his hand is draped over the handle, rather than being wrapped around it.
Summary:
The Disney Store doll, while having the disadvantage of the awkward looking Disney Prince body, which also makes his outfit look ill fitting, is a much more accurate representation of the movie character. His serious expression also helps and better details in his outfit and accessories make him look like an actual movie character, rather than just a generic doll.
On the other hand, the Tollytots doll is only $20 versus $35 for the Disney doll. Plus it comes with the well made and movie accurate mini China Girl doll, which costs an additional $9.50 from the Disney Store.
I just received the Anna Couture de Force Figure from the Disney Store. She is $69.95, $5 less expensive than the Elsa figure. She was actually shipped by Enesco, the manufacturer. She is an 8 inch high resin figure of Anna in her black and green Coronation outfit. She is holding a pink fan in one hand and holding up her skirt in the other. It recalls the scene of her singing the "sophisticated grace" part of "For the First Time in Forever." She is a very pretty figure, with lots of details that are true of the movie character. There is gold glitter on the fan, which does shed. There are two minor but noticeable defects in the figure. One is that the gold glitter is applied unevenly on the front of the fan. The other is that there is a small gash in her left shoulder (to our right), that also cuts into the strap of her gown. Other than that, the details and painting are very nicely down. She is very sturdy free standing, and is considerably heavier than the companion Elsa figure.
I photograph Anna from all angles, and also show her with the Elsa Couture de Force Figure. I like the rendering of Elsa's face better than Anna, and Elsa's transparent cape is amazing, and is unlike that of any other Elsa figure. But the Anna figure is matches with Elsa very well. Both of them are still available from the US Disney Store website.

Deboxing LE Elena. She has been freed from the backing and plastic supports, and is lying down to continue the deboxing process. The back of her dress is opened up to show the manufacturer's stamps (including edition size and number), and the swivel waist joint. Then her dress is closed up again.
I got the Elena of Avalor LE 17 inch Doll from my local Disney Store on the release day, Tuesday November 21, 2017. I went to my store at 11:30 am, instead of my usual line up before the store opens for LE doll releases. There were three of the doll behind the counter, but placed sideways and with no promo placard. So it wasn't obvious that there was a Limited Edition doll release today. The CM I bought the doll from didn't seem to know anything about the release, so I don't know how many dolls the store got in, how many they sold, or how many were remaining. I took the first doll that was handed to me, since the doll looked perfect to me. She is #1375 of 6000.

Ariel and Eric are deboxed, and are sitting in the rowboat.
I got the Ariel and Eric 'Kiss the Girl' playset yesterday (Tuesday October 23) from my local Disney Store. It came out in the UK about three weeks ago, and I have been anxiously waiting for it to arrive in the US since then. It is in some stores in the US, but not online in the US ShopDisney site yet. It costs $59.95 (twice as much as the previous Classic Disney Doll playsets that came out this year), and is in a huge box. It has Ariel and Eric in a rowboat, with fishes and Flounder spouting water around them. There is also a Sebastian figure, and two more outfits for Ariel (mermaid and pink). I show the set boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed in various configurations. I put the set in front of the background formed by the inner box, and finally rebox the set.
Ariel is sporting her blue kingdom tour dress, and finally has her hair parted in the correct side of her head (on her left). She also has some heavily gelled bangs on her right side reminiscent of Snow Queen Elsa's crown of bangs.
Eric is in white shirt and blue pants, with black boots. He is remarkable in that he is the first Classic Prince doll to be fully articulated. He has the same body as Li Shang and Flynn Rider of the 2017 Disney Designer Collection limited edition doll sets. So he has a swivel jointed neck, and ball jointed elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles. He can also sit without splaying his legs. As with most Prince dolls, he has a smaller head than his Princess, Ariel, which looks strange when they are side by side.
The boat can be separated from the base, consisting of the plastic water and fish. The oars can be separated from the boat. Sebastian can free stand, or can be inserted into peg at the bow of the boat.
This is a great set, and I think is worth the cost. The only problem is to find a place to put it, especially if it is out of the box.

There was more than a hundred people waiting outside the Disney Store this morning. Fortunately most of them were after the Mickey merchandise, and I got picked in the raffle for Jasmine. Several collectors that I knew were also there, but none of them got picked. I selected the first doll that was handed to me at the register, since she looked perfect. I didn't bring my camera, so no photos from the release. She is #425 of 4000. I show her boxed, and with the inner box taken out and the front viewing window taken off. She is very beautiful and my second most favorite doll from the series. She is first one that I managed to get from the store raffle, so I could take her home on release day. I will debox her tomorrow.

New Disney Store Beast medium plush ($24.95). Beast is way too small compared to Belle, and also cannot lay down nicely or free stand. However, he can sit upright on a stool, so that is how I took most of the photos of him.
Detailed photos of the three Beauty and the Beast plush that I bought on June 30, 2016 from the Disney Store. The Disney Store also had plush of many of the enchanted staff of the Beast, which I may buy at a later time.

Cinderella is fully deboxed, and going to be reboxed.
I just received Premiere Series Cinderella from the Disney Store today. I ordered her on release day, Saturday October 13, 2018. She is #1607 of 4400. She arrived in perfect shape. However there was three fingerprints on the inside of the viewing window above her head, that you can see in some of the photos.
Her face and makeup are absolutely gorgeous. I wish her hair was closer to the design sketch. Also there is too much black in the skirt, and the outer tulle reminds me of LE Ursula's skirt. But overall she is very striking, and represents Cinderella very well. I rank her third in this doll series, after Snow White and Jasmine.

Here are detailed photos of the 2018 Minnie Mouse Rock the Dots Limited Edition Signature Doll. I picked her up in person at my local Disney Store on release day, Monday January 22, 2018, which is also National Polka Dot Day in the US. She is also available online in the US and European Disney Store websites. She is the sixth Signature Minnie doll to be released by the Disney Store, but the first Signature Minnie doll that I have bought for my collection. She is #2405 of 6000.
She is 11 inches tall to the top of her head, or 12 inches to the top of her ears. She has rooted hair and eyelashes, and her ears are covered in her hair. She has a rocker style outfit, with black faux leather jacket, white shirt, red double layer tulle skirt with silver glitter dots, and a red satin underskirt. She is wearing black leggings, and faux suede boots. She had molded white plastic gloves, large red cloth bow, and red plastic rimmed sunglasses. She also has a black purse hanging from her left wrist. She comes in a designer style case, with black plastic base, clear acrylic cover, with a black and white polka dot background. She also comes with a cardboard slipcover.
Here are some observations I made after deboxing her. She can free stand very stably. I also managed to get her in a running stance without using a stand. I decided to leave the jacket tacked to her shirt, and her shades sewn to her hair. Her purse has a metal snap closure, and opens like a real purse. She has a black body below her head. She has 11 points of articulation: ball jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and knees, although some of her joints have limited freedom of movement. Her hair ears have black rubber bands around the base of the ears, and are very neatly bound, with no unsightly nubs sticking out.

I got LE Aladdin in person from the Disney Store on the release day (October 13, 2015) for the Aladdin Diamond Edition DVD and Limited Edition Jasmine, Aladdin and Jafar dolls. He is 18 inches tall, and is numbered 2094 of 3500. He has the same construction as the male LE dolls starting from the 2013 Prince Eric doll, with ball jointed elbows, wrists and ankles. He is in his street rat outfit, with a sword and Abu as accessories. He is barefoot and stands flat footed in the box.

Cinderella is fully deboxed. She is standing, supported by the included display stand.

Live Action Cinderella Slipper Ornament
$24.99
Item No. 7509055890904P
US Disney Store
I received this slipper ornament from the Disney Store a couple of weeks ago, but just now got around to unpacking it and taking some photos. It is still available online from the Disney Store, and costs $24.95. It is made by Disney Parks, but I haven't seen it yet in Disneyland.
I am very impressed with the ornament. It is an accurate representation of the live action Cinderella slipper. It is made of resin and metal, with faceted sides and a glittering golden butterfly. It is about 4 inches along the top of the shoe, the same size as the other Disney Parks shoe ornaments. It stands comparison to my $395 Arribas Cinderella faceted crystal slipper, which is about twice its size (7.5 inches along the top of the shoe). I show it alone from various angles, and also side by side with some of my other LA Cinderella slipper figures.
Detailed photos of the Rapunzel Limited Edition Maquette by Enesco. She is part of the Walt Disney Archives Collection. She costs $175, half the original cost of the Elsa maquette. I ordered her from the Disney Store on October 3, and received her today (October 12). She was originally announced as LE 5000, to be released in February 2017, but was delayed many months and reduced in edition size. My Rapunzel is 207 of 1200. The number is on the Certificate of Authenticity, as well as under the base of the maquette. She is very pretty, and well painted, although there are a few minor paint flaws. There are some stray paint marks on her face, but they are not glaring errors. Her surface is rougher than that of the Elsa and Anna maquettes in the same series. She isn't as spectacular as the Elsa maquette, but I like her better than the Anna, and am very glad I got her.
I show Rapunzel alone from all angles. I also show her next to the Elsa and Anna maquettes. Rapunzel is 8 3/4 inches high, and with the base is 9 1/2 inches high. This compares to the 9 1/2 inch Anna (10 1/4 with the base), and the 9 1/4 inch Elsa (9 3/4 with the base).
Elsa wearing her previous outfit, the Disney Store Snow Queen Elsa Costume (2014, size 4/5), before switching to the new Deluxe Elsa Costume for Kids (Disney Store 2017, size 3).
I just received Premiere Series Cinderella from the Disney Store today. I ordered her on release day, Saturday October 13, 2018. She is #1607 of 4400. She arrived in perfect shape. But overall she is very striking, and represents Cinderella very well. I rank her third in this doll series, after Snow White and Jasmine.
I show her boxed, and with the outer and inner front covers removed. I will debox her tomorrow.

My 2015 Limited Edition Aladdin 18 Inch Doll has been fully deboxed. He is free standing, with his sword in his right hand. I have left out the Abu figure from these photos.
Photos only now being uploaded to my Flickr account a year and a half later. I am missing most of the boxed and deboxing photos. I have added a recently taken photo of the Certificate of Authenticity.
The Belle 12'' doll standing, supported by a Kaiser stand. She is wearing her pink winter outfit, with her cape off. Her ponytail was a bit messy after taking it out of the hood of the cape, so I combed it to make it as neat as I could. It was curly, and off center. There was a nice pink bow in her hair above the ponytail. The pink and red dress was covered in glitter, which did shed. The half length sleeves had large ruffled cuffs. Belle looks dainty in her pink dress without the cape and hood. I also left out the bluebird in these poses.
Detailed photos of the dolls in the Beauty and the Beast Deluxe Doll Set, deboxed. They include the 1/6 scale Beast, Belle and Gaston dolls, and the Philippe plush. Beast and Belle are in their winter outfits. I show Beast and Belle both with and without their capes. The bluebird figurine is included with Belle when she has her cape on. Beast is not that stable free standing, so I support him with a Kaiser stand for these photos.
I just got the Beauty and the Beast Deluxe Doll Set ($79.95) from my local Disney Store (on Thursday June 30, 2016). The accessory figures look really detailed and well done. In fact, I like Chip better in this set than the one with the new Classic Belle doll. Also the bluebird looks nicer than the one with the new Classic Snow White. Belle and Beast are in their winter outfits. Belle also has her blue peasant outfit and her yellow ball gown. Beast also has his formal outfit. Philippe is way too small, but is a very cute plush. I like this set way better than the ones for Aladdin or Sleeping Beauty.
Deboxing Cinderella. First the inner box is removed, and the viewing window removed from the inner box. Then the doll and stage are removed from the inner box. Then the plastic support is removed from her back and head. Then the skirt is freed from the cardboard stage. Then the base of the display stand is freed from the stage. Then the display stand is removed from the doll. We discover that the shoes are missing gem stones. :(

Aurora is deboxed and standing, supported by a Kaiser stand. There is actually no included doll stand for Aurora, just her stool. She cannot free stand, as her leg joints and skirts aren't stiff enough to support her.
She has an oversized outer sheer blue chiffon skirt, and a dark blue satin skirt underneath. She has the traditional Designer Princess body, with fully articulated arms, swivel waist joint, and rubber legs with internal knee joints and fixed angled feet.
Here are detailed photos of the Aurora and Maleficent Doll Set. This is the fourth and last release of the 2016 Disney Fairytale Designer Collection. It is #1335 of 6000.
I got it in my local Disney Store's raffle at lunch time, on release day, Tuesday October 18, 2016. About 8-10 people showed up for the raffle, for 18 doll sets. So about the same number of people for each of the releases in this series. I saw three sets before I was satisfied with mine, mainly due to Aurora's curly bang not laying right against her forehead, and/or too many stray hairs.

Deboxing Classic Snow White. The front clear plastic cover has been removed. Snow White and the bluebird are still attached to the cardboard backing, but are now in clear view.
Added detailed photos of Snow White. The glitter covered cape is a bit stiff, but I do like the glitter skirt, since it keeps its shape better than a plain satin skirt. It is similar to the skirt of the 2014 Classic Snow White and the 2013 Singing Snow White 12'' dolls. However, the gold glitter from the skirt does shed, and found its way on her rubber legs, even though she had tissue paper wrapped around them. The best new feature of this Snow White doll is the blue bird figurine. It's claws can grasp the doll's index finger or thumb very securely. It is reminiscent of the blue bird that comes with the LE Snow White 17'' doll, but is much less accurate and realistic, as it is entirely blue except for his eyes and beak. My doll came with hair that was a bit messy and lopsided, but she still looks very pretty. I will post side by side comparisons with previous Classic Snow White dolls soon.
