Deboxing Holiday Elsa. The covers are removed, leaving Elsa in clear view, attached to the cardboard backing. Then Elsa is removed from the backing. She is still attached to the display stand, and various plastic supports.

Detailed photos of the Olaf's Frozen Adventure Elsa Limited Edition Doll. I got her from my local Disney Store on release day, Tuesday December 12, 2017, along with Anna. I was the only one waiting for the dolls before the store opened. She is #3818 of 7000.

I like her very much, both her new face and outfit. But she does have a couple of defects. One is that her hair is a bit messy on top, where part of her crown of bangs going the wrong way. The other is that there is a shallow cut on her forehead, that is especially visible when looking straight on in bright lighting. I think of it as a scar from the fight in the ice castle. The nicest thing I've discovered about the doll is that she has dark blue ice heels.

Unlike the comparable dolls Frozen Fever Elsa and Harrods Snow Queen Elsa, OFA Elsa's cape doesn't have any embroidery. The snowflake and icicle patterns are depicted using glued on silver glitter appliques and clear crystals. Her dress does have considerable use of embroidery. I will call her Holiday Elsa since she is in her Christmas outfit.

Enchanted Mirror.

Detailed photos of the accessories included with the Beauty and the Beast Deluxe Doll Set. They are all deboxed. They include additional outfits for Belle and the Beast, vinyl figures of the Beast's enchanted staff, a bluebird friend of Belle, Belle's book, the enchanted rose in bell jar, and the enchanted mirror.

Here are detailed photos of the newly released Beauty and the Beast Deluxe Doll Set ($79.95), that I just got from my local Disney Store. The accessory figures look really detailed and well done. In fact, I like Chip better in this set than the one with the new Classic Belle doll. Also the bluebird looks nicer than the one with the new Classic Snow White. Belle and Beast are in their winter outfits. Belle also has her blue peasant outfit and her yellow ball gown. Beast also has his formal outfit. Philippe is way too small, but is a very cute plush. I like this set way better than the ones for Aladdin or Sleeping Beauty.

I was lucky enough to get Belle at the Disney Store today. There was about 70 people entered in the raffle, the most of any release in the series, so I was surprised and happy that I got picked. She is the sixth and final Premiere Series doll to be released. She is #1132 of 4500. I now have all six of the dolls, all gotten first hand, and am glad that the releases are finally over.

I love Belle's face and hair, her Beast purse and her jewelry, but her dress isn't one of my favorites from this series. My doll has some stains on her face, that look like stray hair product. I will clean them off when I debox her. Some strands of her earrings were stuck in her hair, that I freed when I took all the covers off the doll box.

With the selling out of Premiere Series Belle this morning, all six of the dolls in the Disney Designer Collection Premiere Series for 2018 are sold out online, and undoubtedly in stores as well. This series has been a great success for the Disney Store. It was probably the best received Designer dolls since the Disney Fairytale Designer Collection couples doll sets of 2013, and rivalling the reception of the original Disney Princess Designer Collection dolls of 2011. I was lucky enough to get all six online, and got Jasmine and Belle in the store raffle.

Deboxing singing Cinderella. She has been removed from backing, and is lying down. Packaging wires and rubber bands are still on the doll, as well as tissue paper stuffing under her dress. Then the back of dress is opened up to remove the wire around her waist. We also see the battery compartment, sound box and on/off switch. Then her dress is closed up. Then the tissue paper around her legs, under her dress, is removed. Then the rubber band holding the necklace in place is removed, and she is fully deboxed.

I got the new Disney Store 11 1/2 inch singing Cinderella doll on Monday July 9, 2018. I also got the Ariel singing doll at the same time, whom I will show separately. There are also new singing Moana, Jasmine and Elsa dolls, which I have not gotten yet. They are showing up in various Disney Stores both here in the US and also in the UK, but are not yet available online.

She is in much simpler packaging than previous singing dolls, and has no accessories. She is also less expensive than previous singing dolls, only $19.99, just $5 more than a regular Classic doll. She has a lovely new face paint that is different than the current Classic doll.

Cinderella sings 'A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes' when you twist left her hand. Like Ariel, Cinderella only sings one verse of her song, lasting about 12 seconds. She has golden blonde hair, with gentle curls stiffened by hair product, so I left them mostly alone. She has a glittering dark pink dress, with white satin collar and hem, and decorated by pale pink ribbons. She has a pink sash around her waist, and a thin pink ribbon and bow in her hair. She has dark blue eyes, dark pink lips in an open mouth smile, and is glancing to her right. She is a beautiful doll, and is my second favorite 12 inch Cinderella doll, after the Heroes and Villains Cinderella.

Winter Princess Ornaments Released 2013-09-16

The Sketchbook Ornaments have been narrowed to Disney Princesses, and then sorted so the newest are last. The last eight are Disney Princesses dressed in winter outfits. They were all released online on September 16, 2013. Some Disney Stores had them some of them for sale last week. They all look very good. Some of the other ornaments on this page were actually released last year. On the banner for the page is a newly released Peter Pan ornament where he is carrying Wendy, which also looks very good.

All these ornaments are currently on sale: 2 or more $10 each.

I received my Premiere Series Tiana doll today. I ordered her online from the Disney Store when she was released last Saturday, November 3, 2018. She is #253 of 4000. She is unusual in that her CoA number is only one greater than the Cart #252 that is on the original shipper label. All the other Premiere Series dolls so far have had an edition number 3 greater than the Cart #. The box and doll are close to perfect, except for a broken chain on her purse. I have read that this is a fairly common defect in the doll. Rather than trying to get a replacement from the Disney Store I think I will try to fix it on my own. She has a beautiful face, but the outfit is my least favorite of the series. The large yellow green cloth flower on her chest is really tacky and distracting, and covers her neck and part of her face. The neon yellow green of the skirt is also too gaudy for me, looks like a tutu, and the floral embroidery on her skirt looks childish. Her shoes are lovely, however. She is the fifth of the six doll series, with Belle being the last release in the US and Canada.

I show the box, and the doll with successive layers of the box removed, until the doll is in clear view. I will debox the doll soon.

Deboxing the set.

I got the Ariel and Eric 'Kiss the Girl' playset yesterday (Tuesday October 23) from my local Disney Store. It came out in the UK about three weeks ago, and I have been anxiously waiting for it to arrive in the US since then. It is in some stores in the US, but not online in the US ShopDisney site yet. It costs $59.95 (twice as much as the previous Classic Disney Doll playsets that came out this year), and is in a huge box. It has Ariel and Eric in a rowboat, with fishes and Flounder spouting water around them. There is also a Sebastian figure, and two more outfits for Ariel (mermaid and pink). I show the set boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed in various configurations. I put the set in front of the background formed by the inner box, and finally rebox the set.

Ariel is sporting her blue kingdom tour dress, and finally has her hair parted in the correct side of her head (on her left). She also has some heavily gelled bangs on her right side reminiscent of Snow Queen Elsa's crown of bangs.

Eric is in white shirt and blue pants, with black boots. He is remarkable in that he is the first Classic Prince doll to be fully articulated. He has the same body as Li Shang and Flynn Rider of the 2017 Disney Designer Collection limited edition doll sets. So he has a swivel jointed neck, and ball jointed elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles. He can also sit without splaying his legs. As with most Prince dolls, he has a smaller head than his Princess, Ariel, which looks strange when they are side by side.

The boat can be separated from the base, consisting of the plastic water and fish. The oars can be separated from the boat. Sebastian can free stand, or can be inserted into peg at the bow of the boat.

This is a great set, and I think is worth the cost. The only problem is to find a place to put it, especially if it is out of the box.

I got the Anna and Elsa Doll Set for Olaf's Frozen Adventure, from my local Disney Store on Wednesday September 27, 2017. They are in the new Holiday outfits, made of faux suede. Elsa has a cape attached to the back of her dress, and has a fur collar with embedded red jewels. Anna has a jacket that is sewn to her bodice. They both have the new style rubber legs with flat feet. Elsa has flat heeled ice shoes, which are a loose fit. Anna has boots with low heels. Anna is about 1/4 inch taller than Elsa (11 1/2 vs 11 1/4 inches), which looks awkward when they are side by side. They both have new face sculpts, for the first time since their original Classic dolls were introduced in 2013. I like how they look, but I like Elsa more than Anna. The old faces looked younger and cuter, but the new faces are more movie accurate.

Singing Princess Dolls

UK Disney Store Webpage

Released September 2013

Thanks to FloundersFolly for giving me a heads up about these dolls.

The 2013 Disney Store singing dolls have been released in the UK Disney Store website before the US one. Here is a listing of all those dolls on a single webpage. Notice that the UK versions have capes for each of the 12'' dolls, which look very nice on them, especially since they are full length. And unlike the US versions, the UK versions have their standard 2013 Princess outfits included, with no additional outfits or sidekick figures. Like the US version, however, singing Cinderella does have her hair down.

Note: The UK Disney Store site has the Ariel Singing Doll categorized as a talking doll by mistake, so she doesn't show up in their Singing Doll page, so I did a search for ''Singing Doll" instead. Strangely enough, the search results included the TLM Deluxe Doll Set and the Little Mermaid Hair Play Set, neither of which has any singing dolls included.

Excluding Sofia, here are the singing princess dolls released so far:

The Little Mermaid Singing Doll

Belle Singing Doll

Cinderella Singing Doll

Jasmine Singing Doll

Rapunzel Singing Doll

Snow White Singing Doll

I show her in box, and with all the covers removed. I will debox her later. I show her next to my deboxed Frozen Fever Elsa doll and Harrods Snow Queen Elsa doll. Unlike those two dolls, OFA Elsa's cape doesn't have any embroidery. The snowflake and icicle patterns are depicted using glued on silver glitter appliques and clear crystals. Her dress does have considerable use of embroidery.

Disney Villains Collection Doll Set

The Disney Store ($477)

Limited edition, #278 of 13,000

First Look

I just received today, October 17, 2012, the full set of all six dolls of the Disney Villains Collection Doll Set, that I pre-ordered on August 20, 2012. All the dolls arrived in perfect condition. They are all numbered #278 of 13,000. I photograph all the dolls in their cases, in group shots. They intend to leave these dolls as they are, untouched. I am not even going to open up the cases to fix stray hairs. I have bought "spares" of each of the dolls, to be completely deboxed. I pose these dolls with the pre-ordered boxed dolls. I also pair each of the villains with one of the Designer Princess dolls, which I have deboxed.

The Designer Villains and their release dates are:

September 10, 2012: Maleficent.

September 17, 2012: Evil Queen.

September 24, 2012: Queen of Hearts

October 01, 2012: Ursula.

October 08, 2012: Mother Gothel.

October 15, 2012: Cruella De Vil.

Several Disney Designer Collection Premiere Series items were released online in the US ShopDisney site this morning (Monday September 17, 2018). They were not previously announced by the Disney Store. They include two LE 4800 pin sets (with three Princess pins in each set), an LE 3100 ornament set (with all six Princesses), and a notecard set, with all six princesses. As of 6 pm PDT, both pin sets and the ornament set are sold out online.

In-Store release of Disney Designer Collection Premiere Series merchandise, on Friday September 28, 2018. My local Disney Store had all six of the Designer Princesses on display. They also had several of the ColourPop Designer makeup items for sale. Next to the Designer dolls were items related to them, including jewelry and accessories. The Designer items that were released last week were available for sale here. That included the two LE pin sets, the LE ornament set, the notecard set and wine glass set. I took detailed photos of the Belle and Tiana, the two dolls that I hadn't seen in person yet.

2016 Classic Ariel has been completely deboxed. She is standing on her fins, supported by a Kaiser stand (not included with the doll). I have left Flounder out of these photos, to see Ariel better.

Detailed photos of the new Classic Ariel doll. I love her face. But most of her hair is very stiff with hair product, so I found it hard to make it neater and fix the stray hairs. Her satin fins are okay, but there is a stained patch (glue?). I like the 2012 Classic Ariel fins better, but these new ones are definitely better than the tulle fins that most recent Classic Ariel dolls have had. Under her glittering tail, she has rubber legs, with fixed angled feet and internal click stop knees. I was going to compare her side by side with last year's Classic Ariel, but I can't find the old Ariel at the moment.

LE Elena has been fully deboxed. She is standing, supported by the included display stand.

Some observations about the doll that weren't apparent before deboxing. She has a swivel waist, as did the original Designer Princess dolls, instead of the chest joint that most female LE 17 inch dolls have. I guess that is why the doll has the word Designer as part of her official name. The joint isn't so useful for this doll because of the stiffness of her upper dress. She also has hinge jointed knees and ball jointed ankles.

She has light gold colored shoes with low heels. They are also have embossed decorations with a blue jewel in each shoe. She has a bow in the back with the two ends of the ribbon forming a tail that is a couple of inches longer than the dress. There is a full length red satin skirt under the decorated overskirt. Under that is a double layered tulle petticoat that is an inch shorter than the skirt.

She can hold the scepter in her hand only with the help of a rubber band, which I left from the original packaging. Finally her pony tail is fairly stiff with hair product, and is heavy so it tends to pull her head backwards and to her right (our left when she is facing us). This is similar to the problem with the heavy ponytail of the LE Jasmine dolls.

I got the Elena of Avalor LE 17 inch Doll from my local Disney Store on the release day, Tuesday November 21, 2017. I went to my store at 11:30 am, instead of my usual line up before the store opens for LE doll releases. There were three of the doll behind the counter, but placed sideways and with no promo placard. So it wasn't obvious that there was a Limited Edition doll release today. The CM I bought the doll from didn't seem to know anything about the release, so I don't know how many dolls the store got in, how many they sold, or how many were remaining. I took the first doll that was handed to me, since the doll looked perfect to me. She is #1375 of 6000.

Detailed photos of Snow White. The glitter covered cape is a bit stiff, but I do like the glitter skirt, since it keeps its shape better than a plain satin skirt. It is similar to the skirt of the 2014 Classic Snow White and the 2013 Singing Snow White 12'' dolls. However, the gold glitter from the skirt does shed, and found its way on her rubber legs, even though she had tissue paper wrapped around them. The best new feature of this Snow White doll is the blue bird figurine. It's claws can grasp the doll's index finger or thumb very securely. It is reminiscent of the blue bird that comes with the LE Snow White 17'' doll, but is much less accurate and realistic, as it is entirely blue except for his eyes and beak. My doll came with hair that was a bit messy and lopsided, but she still looks very pretty. I will post side by side comparisons with previous Classic Snow White dolls soon.

Disney Fairytale Designer Collection merchandise. Cinderella and Mulan Mugs.

The Disney Fairytale Designer Collection merchandise on display at my local Disney Store today. It was the release day, and they had all the merchandise in the collection displayed except for the LE Pin Set. All the items were for sale, except for the dolls, which will be released in store and online once a week starting on Tuesday September 23, 2014. The dolls were on a high shelf, and there wasn't a convenient place to put them for viewing a photographing them, so I made do with low angle shots. All the items were better looking in person than online, which is the norm for most Disney merchandise. Cinderella's head was turned around too much to look natural. But it wasn't quite as severe as in the stock photo of her in the display case, so I wouldn't call her Exorcist Head. Her head is definitely attached to a plastic form, so her head turn isn't a random thing that happened during shipping, but is by design. After seeing her in person, she is still my favorite of the Princesses in this release, and her dress looks great both front and back. I bought journals and the Lithograph Set, of which I will post photos shortly. The store wasn't very busy (at noon time), but everyone that looked at the Designer Collection seemed to be impressed.

Here are the release dates of the doll sets (in North America):

Sept 2, 2014. Pre-order complete collection.

Sept 23. Tiana & Prince Naveen. (Online Sep 24)

Sept 30. Pocahontas & John Smith (Online Oct 1)

Oct. 7. Cinderella & Prince Charming (Online Oct 8)

Oct. 14. Mulan & Li Shang. (Online Oct 15)

Oct 21. Aurora & Prince Phillip. (Online Oct 22).

Tiana has been fully deboxed. She is standing, supported by the included display stand.

Deboxing Tiana. I fixed the broken purse chain by using thread. It took me three tries and about 45 minutes to fix it so it didn't come loose again while posing her with the purse. I left the rubber band that secures the purse chain to her shoulder alone.

I received my Premiere Series Tiana doll on Friday, November 9. I had ordered her online from the Disney Store when she was released last Saturday, November 3, 2018.

Cinderella is deboxed, and is laying down for inspection of her dress construction.

I just received Premiere Series Cinderella from the Disney Store today. I ordered her on release day, Saturday October 13, 2018. She is #1607 of 4400. She arrived in perfect shape. However there was three fingerprints on the inside of the viewing window above her head, that you can see in some of the photos.

Her face and makeup are absolutely gorgeous. I wish her hair was closer to the design sketch. Also there is too much black in the skirt, and the outer tulle reminds me of LE Ursula's skirt. But overall she is very striking, and represents Cinderella very well. I rank her third in this doll series, after Snow White and Jasmine.

The Disney Designer Collection proudly presents our Premiere Series Cinderella Limited Edition Doll, inspired by the fashions of 1950, when elegant gowns graced both red carpets and silver screens as part of the Hollywood dream factory.

Detailed photos of the Olaf's Frozen Adventure Anna Limited Edition Doll. I got her from my local Disney Store on release day, Tuesday December 12, 2017, along with Elsa. I was the only one waiting for the dolls before the store opened. She is #1234 of 7000, which I think is a really cool number.

I like her a lot more than I thought I would from the stock and leaked photos. I don't think she looks goofy, even with her smirk. But I do think that her in box pose is very awkward. The nicest thing I've discovered about the doll is that she has lavender tights, which compares nicely with the green tights of FF Anna.

I show her in box, and with all the covers removed. I will debox her later. I show her next to my deboxed Frozen Fever Anna doll, who I think is closest to her in design among the Anna LE dolls.

Deboxing Moana. Front and rear covers taken off. The doll and accessories are now in clear view, but are still attached to the free standing cardboard backing and various plastic supports.

Here are detailed photos of my Disney Store Limited Edition Moana 17 inch doll, boxed and deboxed. She is #1531 of 6500. I also got a spare Moana that I will leave mint in box, but I haven't looked to see what edition number that doll has.

She has mock sand on her feet, and there is also sand on the base for Pua. Somewhat like glitter, the sand does shed, and found its way on the sides of the box, and on the doll itself. Some of the sand on the tips of her toes also got rubbed off.

Moana has a unique body, but is fully articulated. She has ball jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles. Instead of the chest joint that are on most of the female Disney Store 17 inch LE dolls, Moana has a waist pivot joint that allows her upper torso to spin around 360 degrees. This is similar to the Designer Princess waist joint, but is lower down her back, just above her butt. That is doubtless due to her bare midriff. With large her flat feet, Moana can free stand very stably. But I think that some of her joints are a little too loose, especially her waist joint.

Her body proportions are also unique for a Disney LE doll, but that is due to those of the animated character herself. In particular, her arms and legs are thicker than the other LE Princess dolls. Rather than the flat hands of the other LE Princess dolls, Moana has curved hands, which I think look more natural. Her face is very pretty and a very good likeness of the animated character. She has thick eyebrows, big brown eyes glancing to her upper right. She has short painted eyelashes, but no rooted eyelashes (like the LE Merida dolls). She has a large flat nose, and full dark brown lips in a closed mouth smile.

She has dark brown wavy hair that has a lot of hair product, so it feels a bit crunchy. Some of her hair was actually stuck to the plastic support, her body and her clothes, due to the hair product not being fully dry when she was assembled. There was also some bits of tissue paper stuck to her hair.

She has a garland of cloth leaves and plastic flowers on her head, It is permanently attached to her head. There are plastic leafy bands around her left arm and both ankles. The arm band was rather loose, and I had to keep on moving it back up her arm. I think it could use a rubber band to keep it tight, which I don't think I accidently cut when deboxing her. Her ankle bands did have rubber bands around them. She has a beaded plastic necklace with a shell pendant that opens. I removed the large rubber band around her upper chest and the plastic support that kept the pendent attached to her top. But I left the rubber bands that kept the upper part of the necklace in place. She has an short satin orange top with white beaded decoration. There is a matching belt or sash around her hips, over her skirt. Her skirt has two woven layers, with a straw underskirt.

Pua is very stable on the sand dune base (and there are indentations in the base to show where to place him). Hei Hei can free stand on Pua's head, but you have to place him very carefully, using the indentations on Pua's head as a guide. He can also be made secure by a rubberband around Pua's head and over Hei Hei's feet.

Moana's oar is placed on her left side in the box, but the way the handle is formed on the oar, it fits most easily on her right hand (to our left when she faces us).

I show her boxed, and with the outer and inner front covers removed. I will debox her tomorrow.

The Disney Designer Collection proudly presents our Premiere Series Cinderella Limited Edition Doll, inspired by the fashions of 1950, when elegant gowns graced both red carpets and silver screens as part of the Hollywood dream factory.

Inner box has been taken out of the outer box.

Elsa has been fully deboxed. She is standing, supported by a Kaiser stand.

2016 Classic Snow White has been completely deboxed. She is standing, supported by a Kaiser stand (not included with the doll). The bluebird figurine is perched on her index figure (he can also be placed on her thumb).

Added detailed photos of Snow White.

I got Ariel today. I ordered her online on release day, October 27, 2018. She is #2047 of 4500. She and the box arrived in perfect shape. However, the invitation card has slipped down in the plastic sleeve, and won't stay up. I love her face and hair, but her dress is a bit too gaudy for my taste, although it is appropriate for an 80's girl. Her hair is stiff at the ends to keep its curl, so it got a little messy when I broke it up to even out her hair in the back. I cut off the rubber band securing the purse string to her shoulder. I had to use a little tape to keep it from sliding off her shoulder afterwards. I show her boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed. I have her now on my desk, right next to me as I type this. It is convenient that I got her just before the next one, Tiana, is released tomorrow.

Designer Cruella De Vil Doll In Display Case

At my Disney Store, the right to buy Maleficent today was ''raffled'' off to twenty lucky people. There were maybe 30-40 people entered, and I was not one of the winners. So I will have to get her online tonight. There were a total of 13,000 of each doll produced, so there should be no problem getting a doll online.

Individual dolls may be purchased online and in stores beginning on September 10, 2012, and ending on October 15. One doll will be made available on in stores Monday of each week. Then on Tuesday (at 12 am Pacific Time) that doll will be available online. Here is the list of the dolls and their release dates:

September 10, 2012: Maleficent, from Sleeping Beauty (1959).

September 17, 2012: Evil Queen, from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937).

September 24, 2012: Queen of Hearts, from Alice in Wonderland (1951).

October 01, 2012: Ursula, from The Little Mermaid (1989).

October 08, 2012: Mother Gothel, from Tangled (2010).

October 15, 2012: Cruella de Vil, from One Hundred and One Dalmations (1961).
