Disney Fairytale Designer Collection merchandise. Briar Rose Mugs.
The Disney Fairytale Designer Collection merchandise on display at my local Disney Store today. It was the release day, and they had all the merchandise in the collection displayed except for the LE Pin Set. All the items were for sale, except for the dolls, which will be released in store and online once a week starting on Tuesday September 23, 2014. The dolls were on a high shelf, and there wasn't a convenient place to put them for viewing a photographing them, so I made do with low angle shots. All the items were better looking in person than online, which is the norm for most Disney merchandise. Cinderella's head was turned around too much to look natural. But it wasn't quite as severe as in the stock photo of her in the display case, so I wouldn't call her Exorcist Head. Her head is definitely attached to a plastic form, so her head turn isn't a random thing that happened during shipping, but is by design. After seeing her in person, she is still my favorite of the Princesses in this release, and her dress looks great both front and back. I bought journals and the Lithograph Set, of which I will post photos shortly. The store wasn't very busy (at noon time), but everyone that looked at the Designer Collection seemed to be impressed.

I got the June 2018 release flyer today from my local Disney Store. It announces the Incredibles II LE Doll Set as a raffle between 6 pm and 7 pm on Thursday June 14, which is a departure from their usual 12 - 1 pm raffle time for Designer doll releases. This was also announced by the ShopDisney Facebook page earlier. It also announces the release of the Art of Mulan Collection on Monday June 18. Here are scans I made of both sides of the flyer.
Doll/Dress: Original 2011 Disney Store Princess Classic Film Collection Doll Necklace: 1995 Mattel Sun Colors Pocahontas Doll
Deboxing Belle. After I removed the rubber band securing the purse chain to her shoulder, I had to use tape to keep it from slipping off of her shoulder (same as with Ariel's purse). Her dress is tight around her hips and legs, so I had to undo it in the back (as well as the outer skirt) in order to pull out the display stand. It was also hard to put the stand back on her. The bracelets are solid rings, so cannot be removed unless you pop off her hands, which I did not try to do. For some of the last photos, I decided to reverse the purse to show the rose rather than the lion. Also I placed the outer skirt a little to the left of where it was in the box pose, to show off her legs.
I was lucky enough to get Belle at the Disney Store today. There was about 70 people entered in the raffle, the most of any release in the series, so I was surprised and happy that I got picked. She is the sixth and final Premiere Series doll to be released. She is #1132 of 4500. I now have all six of the dolls, all gotten first hand, and am glad that the releases are finally over.
I love Belle's face and hair, her Beast purse and her jewelry, but her dress isn't one of my favorites from this series. My doll has some stains on her face, that look like stray hair product. I will clean them off when I debox her. Some strands of her earrings were stuck in her hair, that I freed when I took all the covers off the doll box.

Deboxing the Mulan Playset. First we cut some seals in the top lid, then cut the tape securing the the inner box to the outer box. The inner box is removed from the outer box by sliding it out. The doll and accessories are attached to the inner box. They can now be seen and photographed more clearly without the front plastic window.
I also got the Princess Mulan Tea Ceremony Playset ($29.95) today from my Disney Store. This is available online in the UK, but not in the US yet. My store didn't have the Belle or Anna playsets
yet. It comes with an 11 inch Mulan doll and many accessories.

There was more than a hundred people waiting outside the Disney Store this morning. Fortunately most of them were after the Mickey merchandise, and I got picked in the raffle for Jasmine. Several collectors that I knew were also there, but none of them got picked. I selected the first doll that was handed to me at the register, since she looked perfect. I didn't bring my camera, so no photos from the release. She is #425 of 4000. I show her boxed, and with the inner box taken out and the front viewing window taken off. She is very beautiful and my second most favorite doll from the series. She is first one that I managed to get from the store raffle, so I could take her home on release day. I will debox her tomorrow.

Deboxing Classic Ariel. The front clear plastic cover has been removed. Ariel and Flounder are still attached to the cardboard backing, and are now in clear view.

2016 Classic Ariel has been completely deboxed. She is standing on her fins, supported by a Kaiser stand (not included with the doll). I have left Flounder out of these photos, to see Ariel better.

I got Ariel today. I ordered her online on release day, October 27, 2018. She is #2047 of 4500. She and the box arrived in perfect shape. However, the invitation card has slipped down in the plastic sleeve, and won't stay up. I love her face and hair, but her dress is a bit too gaudy for my taste, although it is appropriate for an 80's girl. Her hair is stiff at the ends to keep its curl, so it got a little messy when I broke it up to even out her hair in the back. I cut off the rubber band securing the purse string to her shoulder. I had to use a little tape to keep it from sliding off her shoulder afterwards. I show her boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed. I have her now on my desk, right next to me as I type this. It is convenient that I got her just before the next one, Tiana, is released tomorrow.

Moana boxed.
Here are detailed photos of my Disney Store Limited Edition Moana 17 inch doll, boxed and deboxed. She is #1531 of 6500. I also got a spare Moana that I will leave mint in box, but I haven't looked to see what edition number that doll has.
She has mock sand on her feet, and there is also sand on the base for Pua. Somewhat like glitter, the sand does shed, and found its way on the sides of the box, and on the doll itself. Some of the sand on the tips of her toes also got rubbed off.
Moana has a unique body, but is fully articulated. She has ball jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles. Instead of the chest joint that are on most of the female Disney Store 17 inch LE dolls, Moana has a waist pivot joint that allows her upper torso to spin around 360 degrees. This is similar to the Designer Princess waist joint, but is lower down her back, just above her butt. That is doubtless due to her bare midriff. With large her flat feet, Moana can free stand very stably. But I think that some of her joints are a little too loose, especially her waist joint.
Her body proportions are also unique for a Disney LE doll, but that is due to those of the animated character herself. In particular, her arms and legs are thicker than the other LE Princess dolls. Rather than the flat hands of the other LE Princess dolls, Moana has curved hands, which I think look more natural. Her face is very pretty and a very good likeness of the animated character. She has thick eyebrows, big brown eyes glancing to her upper right. She has short painted eyelashes, but no rooted eyelashes (like the LE Merida dolls). She has a large flat nose, and full dark brown lips in a closed mouth smile.
She has dark brown wavy hair that has a lot of hair product, so it feels a bit crunchy. Some of her hair was actually stuck to the plastic support, her body and her clothes, due to the hair product not being fully dry when she was assembled. There was also some bits of tissue paper stuck to her hair.
She has a garland of cloth leaves and plastic flowers on her head, It is permanently attached to her head. There are plastic leafy bands around her left arm and both ankles. The arm band was rather loose, and I had to keep on moving it back up her arm. I think it could use a rubber band to keep it tight, which I don't think I accidently cut when deboxing her. Her ankle bands did have rubber bands around them. She has a beaded plastic necklace with a shell pendant that opens. I removed the large rubber band around her upper chest and the plastic support that kept the pendent attached to her top. But I left the rubber bands that kept the upper part of the necklace in place. She has an short satin orange top with white beaded decoration. There is a matching belt or sash around her hips, over her skirt. Her skirt has two woven layers, with a straw underskirt.
Pua is very stable on the sand dune base (and there are indentations in the base to show where to place him). Hei Hei can free stand on Pua's head, but you have to place him very carefully, using the indentations on Pua's head as a guide. He can also be made secure by a rubberband around Pua's head and over Hei Hei's feet.
Moana's oar is placed on her left side in the box, but the way the handle is formed on the oar, it fits most easily on her right hand (to our left when she faces us).

Photos and screenshots of the Art of Ariel Collection merchandise. It debuted in the D23 Expo on August 10, 2013. The collection was made available online at the US Disney Store website on August 19, 2013. Some of the items I saw at the Expo are not available online (yet), and there are also some items available online that I didn't see at the Expo. Also, some of these items were available in Disney Stores last week.
I visited my local Disney Store today, and got several newly available items. First the Walt Disney Signature Collection 30th Anniversary The Little Mermaid Blu-ray / DVD / Digital combo pack pre-order ($24.95). Second is the Ralph Breaks the Internet Blu-ray / DVD / Digital combo pack pre-order ($24.95). Each of them included a lithograph set which I got to take home today, and a pre-order voucher folder. The folder has a $10 off $40 coupon on the back. The voucher is to be returned to the same store between February 26 and May 26, 2019 to obtain the video.
Finally I got the 60th Anniversary Sleeping Beauty Limited Edition 3 pin set (LE 3550, $49.95). It includes a pin of Maleficent and Diablo, a pin of Princess Aurora as Briar Rose, and a logo pin. The images of Maleficent and Briar Rose are screen printed in black in white. The Maleficent pin has a jewel and glitter fill background. The logo pin has glitter fill. The pins are made of copper colored metal and enamel.
The newly released Disney Store Khan 15'' Plush is standing next to the 2012 Disney Store Classic Mulan 12'' doll. Mulan is actually only 11 1/4'' tall, as she is standing flat footed. She is supported by a doll stand (not included). Khan is a bit taller than other Disney Store plush horses from Disney Princess movies, such as Maximus (Tangled), the separately sold Angus (Brave) and Cinderella Coach Horse, all of which were 14'' tall (to the top of their heads). However, he is less sturdy on his feet than Maximus or the 12.5'' Angus (from the Brave Merida and Angus doll set), as internal support for his legs don't go past the ankles. Therefore his legs are wobbly at the ankles, especially when carrying a passenger, as is shown in the photos with Mulan in the saddle.

I really like this new Ariel doll. I think she is considerable improvement over the 2012 model. Her head mold seems to be rounder than the 2012 doll, and face paint is different with rounder bluer eyes, and has a more youthful look. Her face is very pretty, and more movie accurate than the 2012 doll. Her hairdo is close to the 2012 doll, with the part in the wrong side, but the curls are gentler and the hair is in a single mass. There are green glitter pattern representing scales, and the fins are more transparent than the 2012 doll, and look like tulle rather than organza. The peplum is longer and drapes over the tail rather than sticking up, and is made of tulle rather than organza. The tail looks better than the 2012 doll, but I liked the 2012 fins better. Another major change, common to all the 2013 Classic Princess dolls, is the replacement of the fully articulated legs with the old rubber legs, with fixed angled feet and internal knee joints. I would rather that they fixed the problems with the 2012 legs, but the rubber legs do look a lot better, with the disadvantage of being much less posable.

Detailed photos of the Rapunzel Limited Edition Maquette by Enesco. She is part of the Walt Disney Archives Collection. She costs $175, half the original cost of the Elsa maquette. I ordered her from the Disney Store on October 3, and received her today (October 12). She was originally announced as LE 5000, to be released in February 2017, but was delayed many months and reduced in edition size. My Rapunzel is 207 of 1200. The number is on the Certificate of Authenticity, as well as under the base of the maquette. She is very pretty, and well painted, although there are a few minor paint flaws. There are some stray paint marks on her face, but they are not glaring errors. Her surface is rougher than that of the Elsa and Anna maquettes in the same series. She isn't as spectacular as the Elsa maquette, but I like her better than the Anna, and am very glad I got her.
I show Rapunzel alone from all angles. I also show her next to the Elsa and Anna maquettes. Rapunzel is 8 3/4 inches high, and with the base is 9 1/2 inches high. This compares to the 9 1/2 inch Anna (10 1/4 with the base), and the 9 1/4 inch Elsa (9 3/4 with the base).
I just received my Evil Queen and Snow White Couture de Force Figurines by Enesco, that I ordered online from the Disney Store.
Snow White has reddish brown eyes that make her look bloodshot, rather than the dark brown eyes that she should have. Even more important, she has light pink lips, rather than the deep red lips for which she is known. Also her sleeves are light pink and look like cupcake frosting, rather than light blue. I don't mind so much that the ribbon and bow in her hair is gold rather than red, and the flowers in her hair are very pretty. Her skin is very pale, much paler than any Snow White doll that I have, even paler than the 17'' Limited Edition Snow White. Her cape is blue on the outside and red inside, and decorated with flowers, as is her high white collar. There is a rhinestone in her bow in her hair as well as on her shoe. Her bodice is decorated with gold glitter in a lace pattern. Despite her flaws, I do think she is very beautiful. I love her pale skin, her large red apple and her flowing yellow skirt.
The Evil Queen is more impressive in her details, and more accurate to the movie character, even if the details of her costume are not exactly the same. She has a haughty expression, is wearing a rhinestone studded gold crown. Her outfit is very impressive, with a long flowing cape that is black outside and red inside, and a dark blue robe, with a dark red dress underneath. She has a yellow rope around her waist, which hangs down the front of her skirt and end in tassels. She has a high collar with black floral design, and there is a floral design on all sides of her robe and cape. The white trim of her cape has a spider web pattern.
Side by side, it is noticeable that Snow White is a made to a different scale than Evil Queen, as her head is much larger compared to her body. Of course, that is because Snow White was a young girl in the movie, barely in her teens. They are both about 8 inches high, with the listed heights being 7 3/4'' for Snow and 8 1/4'' for Evil Queen. The have large flat bases, and are very stable on a hard flat surface.

I got my Couture de Force Elsa figure from the Disney Store on January 6, 2015. She is also available from other sites for a considerable discount from the list price. The details are amazing, and her transparent cape looks like it is actually made of ice. There are a total of five crystals - one in her crown, one in her necklace, one in the snowflake she is holding in her left hand, one in her hair (all of which are round clear gemstones), and a larger rectangular blue stone in her bodice. There is iridescent glitter on the snowflakes in her skirt and cape. There is just one significant paint flaw, with some paint rubbed off or missing from one of her fingers. I didn't even notice it until I examined a closeup photo that I took of her right hand. Otherwise, she is in perfect condition, with an excellent paint job.
Her face is very pretty, but is not as movie accurate as that of the Grand Jester Elsa. Her face and eyes are too round, and her nose is too narrow and straight. She is 8'' high to the top of her head, slightly taller than the 7 1/2'' H Elsa Grand Jester bust. She is very stable free standing.
Moana boxed.
Here are detailed photos of my Disney Store Limited Edition Moana 17 inch doll, boxed and deboxed. She is #1531 of 6500. I also got a spare Moana that I will leave mint in box, but I haven't looked to see what edition number that doll has.
She has mock sand on her feet, and there is also sand on the base for Pua. Somewhat like glitter, the sand does shed, and found its way on the sides of the box, and on the doll itself. Some of the sand on the tips of her toes also got rubbed off.
Moana has a unique body, but is fully articulated. She has ball jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles. Instead of the chest joint that are on most of the female Disney Store 17 inch LE dolls, Moana has a waist pivot joint that allows her upper torso to spin around 360 degrees. This is similar to the Designer Princess waist joint, but is lower down her back, just above her butt. That is doubtless due to her bare midriff. With large her flat feet, Moana can free stand very stably. But I think that some of her joints are a little too loose, especially her waist joint.
Her body proportions are also unique for a Disney LE doll, but that is due to those of the animated character herself. In particular, her arms and legs are thicker than the other LE Princess dolls. Rather than the flat hands of the other LE Princess dolls, Moana has curved hands, which I think look more natural. Her face is very pretty and a very good likeness of the animated character. She has thick eyebrows, big brown eyes glancing to her upper right. She has short painted eyelashes, but no rooted eyelashes (like the LE Merida dolls). She has a large flat nose, and full dark brown lips in a closed mouth smile.
She has dark brown wavy hair that has a lot of hair product, so it feels a bit crunchy. Some of her hair was actually stuck to the plastic support, her body and her clothes, due to the hair product not being fully dry when she was assembled. There was also some bits of tissue paper stuck to her hair.
She has a garland of cloth leaves and plastic flowers on her head, It is permanently attached to her head. There are plastic leafy bands around her left arm and both ankles. The arm band was rather loose, and I had to keep on moving it back up her arm. I think it could use a rubber band to keep it tight, which I don't think I accidently cut when deboxing her. Her ankle bands did have rubber bands around them. She has a beaded plastic necklace with a shell pendant that opens. I removed the large rubber band around her upper chest and the plastic support that kept the pendent attached to her top. But I left the rubber bands that kept the upper part of the necklace in place. She has an short satin orange top with white beaded decoration. There is a matching belt or sash around her hips, over her skirt. Her skirt has two woven layers, with a straw underskirt.
Pua is very stable on the sand dune base (and there are indentations in the base to show where to place him). Hei Hei can free stand on Pua's head, but you have to place him very carefully, using the indentations on Pua's head as a guide. He can also be made secure by a rubberband around Pua's head and over Hei Hei's feet.
Moana's oar is placed on her left side in the box, but the way the handle is formed on the oar, it fits most easily on her right hand (to our left when she faces us).

Deboxing Designer Snow White. She is removed from the inner box by undoing the tabs and wires holding the doll and stage to the inner box. Then the large plastic support is removed from her head and back, and remaining factory restraints removed from the doll's outfit.
I received my Disney Designer Collection Premiere Series Snow White Limited Edition Doll today. I had ordered her online at the release day, shortly after 12 AM in the morning of Saturday October 6, 2018. She is #1301 of 4100. She came in a shipper box that is approximately the same size as the LE 17 inch doll shippers. It original shipping label said GIRLS TOYS LE PR DSGN SNOW DOLL F18, and CART #: 01298. There was a small piece of masking tape stuck to the side of the box with the actual edition number (matching the CoA): 1301. Inside there was another corrugated cardboard box snugly fitting in the outer shipping box. Inside that was the actual doll box, which was covered with tissue paper, and fit snugly in the inner shipping box, with cardboard caps on the top and bottom of the doll box. The shipper box was undamaged in transit, as was the inner box and the doll box itself.
The doll box has folding panels in the front with magnetic closure, with a large design sketch of Snow White and the year 1937 in large numerals. In the background are photographers in silhouette snapping photos, and a red carpet. The back of the box has angled corners, making for a hexagonal shaped box. The sides and back of the box also has images of Snow White. The top of the box has a clear window with the title of the collection in gold lettering. Inside the front covers are replicas of the movie poster, invitation and tickets to the premiere of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Carthay Circle Theatre in Los Angeles, on December 21, 1937. The doll is behind a rectangular viewing window extending almost the full width and height of the box.
The inner box containing the doll and front viewing window can be slid out from the outer box. It is entirely enclosed, so can be displayed as is, without having to deal with the front covers either covering up the doll, or taking up space in front or to the sides of the inner box. The doll is on top a red carpet that has steps in front, and is flocked cardboard.
The doll herself is by far my favorite of the current Designer Premiere Series. I'm slightly biased because Snow White is my favorite Disney Princess, and am so happy that she turned out so well. I think her gown and accessories are very beautifully designed and produced. It also is very fitting for Snow White, and would be something she would wear to the premiere of her own movie.
I show her boxed, with the inner box removed from the outer box, and finally with the front viewing window removed from the inner box.
I will fully debox her tomorrow and post photos here when I do.

I got the Olaf's Frozen Adventure Anna and Elsa 17 inch LE dolls at my local Disney Store today. I got to the store at 8 am, and was the second one there. But the earlier person, also a regular at these releases, decided to order them online instead of waiting for the store to open. So I was the only one in line for the dolls. A few people showed up right before the store opened, but they weren't there for the dolls. This time after the opening ceremony, they didn't give out the souvenir key to the guest taking part in the ceremony.
They had four Elsa and three Anna dolls behind the registers, but no promo placard. I picked the first Anna that they showed me, as she looked perfect. But had to look at all four Elsas before I chose one, as none of them had perfect hair. Here as photos I took at the store. I will post detailed photos of the dolls later today.

Some observations about the doll that weren't apparent before deboxing. She has a swivel waist, as did the original Designer Princess dolls, instead of the chest joint that most female LE 17 inch dolls have. I guess that is why the doll has the word Designer as part of her official name. The joint isn't so useful for this doll because of the stiffness of her upper dress. She also has hinge jointed knees and ball jointed ankles.
She has light gold colored shoes with low heels. They are also have embossed decorations with a blue jewel in each shoe. She has a bow in the back with the two ends of the ribbon forming a tail that is a couple of inches longer than the dress. There is a full length red satin skirt under the decorated overskirt. Under that is a double layered tulle petticoat that is an inch shorter than the skirt.
She can hold the scepter in her hand only with the help of a rubber band, which I left from the original packaging. Finally her pony tail is fairly stiff with hair product, and is heavy so it tends to pull her head backwards and to her right (our left when she is facing us). This is similar to the problem with the heavy ponytail of the LE Jasmine dolls.

Alice is fully deboxed. She is standing, supported by a modified Kaiser stand. She can free stand, but is not very stable that way.
Alice is 10 inches tall, with a head and body made specially for her. She has a body construction similar to that of the older Disney Designer Princess dolls, but without the swivel waist. She has rubber legs with click stop internal knee joints, fixed ankles. She has fully articulated arms and a ball jointed neck. Some of her arm joints are a little too loose and sometimes didn't keep a pose. She has a blue satin dress with a printed darker blue floral pattern. She has a separate white satin apron with a large white bow in the back. There is a colorful embroidered floral pattern in the front that is embellished with yellow gems, and it has a lace hem. She has a delicate tulle petticoat with a lace hem. She is wearing white tights, and black shoes with low heels and a strap around the ankles. She has a lovely face with big blue eyes, curvy eyelashes and a closed mouth smile with red lips. She has golden blonde hair, with the curly parts stiff with hair product. Wrapped around her head is her signature black satin ribbon and bow.
I bought the Alice and Queen of Hearts Doll Set at my local Disney Store on release day, October 4, 2016. It is numbered 0989 of 6000. I was called fifth out of ten persons who entered the raffle for 18 doll sets. They called names to determine the order in which we would go to the registers. The Designer doll display was moved from the floor to behind the counter. They still had Cinderella and Lady Tremaine doll sets available. I inspected the first set that was handed to me. Alice had slightly irregular eyelashes, but not enough to bother me. I didn't notice any other defects, so I took the set. I didn't bring my camera, so I didn't take any photos in the store.

I think Alice is a very beautiful doll, and I'm glad Disney finally made a Designer Alice. The most surprising thing I noticed about Alice are her shoes, which are very realistic looking. I like the Designer Queen of Hearts' crown, but it is nowhere as realistic looking as the crown on the LE 17'' Queen of Hearts.

Ursula has been fully deboxed, and placed sitting down with her tentacles spread out around her. I like her alot, I think more than the LE Ursula. But she is by no means a perfect Ursula. The build in stand for her is a smaller version of the one for the LE doll. It is a metal pole with a flat disk that fits into a pocket on the underside of Ursula. Unlike the LE doll stand, this one is not portable. Only her front four tentacles are articulated. The two rear ones are just stuffed, so don't really help support Ursula. However she can still free stand, with her tentacles stretched out. Her arms are fully articulated, a big improvement over the LE Ursula, but her hands don't have much freedom of movement forward or backward. Her neck is VERY stiff, so I moved her head will great difficulty, and I was afraid to damage her head or neck if I applied any more force. Perhaps it will become looser with over time. As with LE Ursula, her top is removable (although I haven't done so yet), and the lower portion of her torso is stuffed with her leather like skin permanently sewn on. With her sitting down with her tentacles spread out, she looks like a starfish, and she is very stable. With her tentacles upright, she can free stand, but isn't very stable. It would have helped greatly if her two rear tentacles were articulated, to help support her standing pose. Standing up, she comes up to about Ariel's height, so is far smaller than the animated character. While deboxing and posing her, one rhinestone and one sequin fell off, but I don't miss them since there are hundreds of those on her body and tentacles.
I got the Ariel and Ursula Doll Set on Tuesday October 20, 2015, at my local Disney Store's raffle. I was 17th of 18 called, so I'm very glad I was able to get her in store. There was about the same amount of people who were there for the Snow/Hag set, so about 10 people missed out today. My set is #4185 of 6000. I will show this set boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed. I took the set I was given. I noticed that Ariel's eyelashes were not at the same angle between her two eyes, but it didn't bother me enough to ask for another set. There were no other noticeable defects in the set.
I have deboxed Ariel, and found to my surprise that the pile of rocks is totally separate from the display case, and is free standing. Ariel is supposed to free sit on the rock stand, and stay in position just by the friction of her sequined tail on the uneven surface of the top rock. It also helps if the floor of is rough (like a carpet) rather than the smooth surface that I was using for the photoshoot. Next, I was pleasantly surprised is that she has the old Designer Princess body, so rubber legs and swivel waist joint. As I expected, her hair is heavily gelled to keep her curls, but not as heavily as the 17'' LE Ariel from 2013. So only the bottom third of her curls are stiff. There were a couple of stray hairs stuck in her neck joint (ouch!) and some short hairs (like trimmings) that I had to remove from her face and chest. She is pretty, but not drop dead gorgeous as were the previous two Designer Ariel dolls (from 2011 and 2013). I also don't like her see through top. It has a rough surface, so her hairs kept on getting caught in it.
Her sequins making up her tail are iridescent, so it appears to be different colors (various shades of green, blue and purple) depending on the angle of the light and angle of viewing. That is similar to how the scales of an actual fish appear. This was an unexpected feature of her tail that makes me like it much more than I did from the stock photos, or even from viewing her in person in the display dolls before I bought her and deboxed her. I also really like her fins, which are wired to stiffen them, and are posable.
I also compare Designer Ariel side by side with the OOAK Ariel made by a fellow collector, who used the 2014 Classic Ariel as the base.
Fourth release of the 2015 Disney Fairytale Designer Collection is Ariel in mermaid form and Ursula in sea witch form. She sold out online a few hours after the release.

I got my Couture de Force Elsa figure from the Disney Store on January 6, 2015. She is also available from other sites for a considerable discount from the list price. The details are amazing, and her transparent cape looks like it is actually made of ice. There are a total of five crystals - one in her crown, one in her necklace, one in the snowflake she is holding in her left hand, one in her hair (all of which are round clear gemstones), and a larger rectangular blue stone in her bodice. Deboxing Belle. After I removed the rubber band securing the purse chain to her shoulder, I had to use tape to keep it from slipping off of her shoulder (same as with Ariel's purse). Her dress is tight around her hips and legs, so I had to undo it in the back (as well as the outer skirt) in order to pull out the display stand. It was also hard to put the stand back on her. The bracelets are solid rings, so cannot be removed unless you pop off her hands, which I did not try to do. For some of the last photos, I decided to reverse the purse to show the rose rather than the lion. Also I placed the outer skirt a little to the left of where it was in the box pose, to show off her legs.
I was lucky enough to get Belle at the Disney Store today. There was about 70 people entered in the raffle, the most of any release in the series, so I was surprised and happy that I got picked. She is the sixth and final Premiere Series doll to be released. She is #1132 of 4500. I now have all six of the dolls, all gotten first hand, and am glad that the releases are finally over.
I love Belle's face and hair, her Beast purse and her jewelry, but her dress isn't one of my favorites from this series. My doll has some stains on her face, that look like stray hair product. I will clean them off when I debox her. Some strands of her earrings were stuck in her hair, that I freed when I took all the covers off the doll box.

Here are detailed photos of the newly released Beauty and the Beast Deluxe Doll Set ($79.95), that I just got from my local Disney Store. The accessory figures look really detailed and well done. In fact, I like Chip better in this set than the one with the new Classic Belle doll. Also the bluebird looks nicer than the one with the new Classic Snow White. Belle and Beast are in their winter outfits. Belle also has her blue peasant outfit and her yellow ball gown. Beast also has his formal outfit. Philippe is way too small, but is a very cute plush. I like this set way better than the ones for Aladdin or Sleeping Beauty.

Holiday Elsa has been fully deboxed. She is standing, supported by the included display stand.
I was surprised that her dress was about a half inch short of floor length. That is probably so that her ice heels can be seen under her dress, when it is pulled tight against her body. Her dress also has a long train, which is hidden when her cape is behind her. Her velvet dress has a deep red satin lining. Her cape has a sheer blue lining. Her cape flows better than those of Snow Queen or Frozen Fever Elsa because it is made from lighter material, and doesn't have any embroidery.
I will compare OFA Elsa with the other 17 inch Elsa dolls soon.
Detailed photos of the Olaf's Frozen Adventure Elsa Limited Edition Doll. I got her from my local Disney Store on release day, Tuesday December 12, 2017, along with Anna. I was the only one waiting for the dolls before the store opened. She is #3818 of 7000.
I like her very much, both her new face and outfit. But she does have a couple of defects. One is that her hair is a bit messy on top, where part of her crown of bangs going the wrong way. The other is that there is a shallow cut on her forehead, that is especially visible when looking straight on in bright lighting. I think of it as a scar from the fight in the ice castle. The nicest thing I've discovered about the doll is that she has dark blue ice heels.
Unlike the comparable dolls Frozen Fever Elsa and Harrods Snow Queen Elsa, OFA Elsa's cape doesn't have any embroidery. The snowflake and icicle patterns are depicted using glued on silver glitter appliques and clear crystals. Her dress does have considerable use of embroidery. I will call her Holiday Elsa since she is in her Christmas outfit.

I got my Couture de Force Elsa figure from the Disney Store on January 6, 2015. She is also available from other sites for a considerable discount from the list price. The details are amazing, and her transparent cape looks like it is actually made of ice. There are a total of five crystals - one in her crown, one in her necklace, one in the snowflake she is holding in her left hand, one in her hair (all of which are round clear gemstones), and a larger rectangular blue stone in her bodice. There is iridescent glitter on the snowflakes in her skirt and cape. There is just one significant paint flaw, with some paint rubbed off or missing from one of her fingers. I didn't even notice it until I examined a closeup photo that I took of her right hand. Otherwise, she is in perfect condition, with an excellent paint job.
Her face is very pretty, but is not as movie accurate as that of the Grand Jester Elsa. Her face and eyes are too round, and her nose is too narrow and straight. She is 8'' high to the top of her head, slightly taller than the 7 1/2'' H Elsa Grand Jester bust. She is very stable free standing.
Deboxing Holiday Elsa. The covers are removed, leaving Elsa in clear view, attached to the cardboard backing. Then Elsa is removed from the backing. She is still attached to the display stand, and various plastic supports. Then she is removed from the large plastic support behind her head and back, and the wires around her back and waist are removed. On the back of her head, there is a circular clear adhesive tape protecting her hairdo, which we remove. Then we turn her around, and start removing packaging restraints from her dress and cape. First we remove the tissue paper stuffing under her cape. Then we remove the display stand. Then we remove the tissue paper under her dress, and snip various packaging restraints in her dress and cape. Here are closeups of her dark blue translucent ice heels.

The Designer Snow White is fully deboxed, and put back on her display stand, holding her purse but without her fur stole. She is standing on the red carpet stage.
Her fur stole is removable, and has snap closures to secure it to her arms. But her train is only removable on one side, the other side being sewn to her gown. She has the standard Designer Princess doll body, with swivel waist and rubber legs with internal knee joints and angled feet. Her elbow joints seem to be slightly different than those of my other Designer Princesses. Her included display stand is of different design than the similar saddle stands of the 17 inch LE dolls, in that there is a cross member that prevents the doll from swaying from side to side, which is useful when she is carrying the heavy metal purse accessory. The fur stole also helps to accommodate the purse's weight.
I received my Disney Designer Collection Premiere Series Snow White Limited Edition Doll today. I had ordered her online at the release day, shortly after 12 AM in the morning of Saturday October 6, 2018. She is #1301 of 4100. She came in a shipper box that is approximately the same size as the LE 17 inch doll shippers. It original shipping label said GIRLS TOYS LE PR DSGN SNOW DOLL F18, and CART #: 01298. There was a small piece of masking tape stuck to the side of the box with the actual edition number (matching the CoA): 1301. Inside there was another corrugated cardboard box snugly fitting in the outer shipping box. Inside that was the actual doll box, which was covered with tissue paper, and fit snugly in the inner shipping box, with cardboard caps on the top and bottom of the doll box. The shipper box was undamaged in transit, as was the inner box and the doll box itself.
The doll box has folding panels in the front with magnetic closure, with a large design sketch of Snow White and the year 1937 in large numerals. In the background are photographers in silhouette snapping photos, and a red carpet. The back of the box has angled corners, making for a hexagonal shaped box. The sides and back of the box also has images of Snow White. The top of the box has a clear window with the title of the collection in gold lettering. Inside the front covers are replicas of the movie poster, invitation and tickets to the premiere of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Carthay Circle Theatre in Los Angeles, on December 21, 1937. The doll is behind a rectangular viewing window extending almost the full width and height of the box.
The inner box containing the doll and front viewing window can be slid out from the outer box. It is entirely enclosed, so can be displayed as is, without having to deal with the front covers either covering up the doll, or taking up space in front or to the sides of the inner box. The doll is on top a red carpet that has steps in front, and is flocked cardboard.
The doll herself is by far my favorite of the current Designer Premiere Series. I'm slightly biased because Snow White is my favorite Disney Princess, and am so happy that she turned out so well. I think her gown and accessories are very beautifully designed and produced. It also is very fitting for Snow White, and would be something she would wear to the premiere of her own movie.

I got the Ariel and Eric 'Kiss the Girl' playset yesterday (Tuesday October 23) from my local Disney Store. It came out in the UK about three weeks ago, and I have been anxiously waiting for it to arrive in the US since then. It is in some stores in the US, but not online in the US ShopDisney site yet. It costs $59.95 (twice as much as the previous Classic Disney Doll playsets that came out this year), and is in a huge box. It has Ariel and Eric in a rowboat, with fishes and Flounder spouting water around them. There is also a Sebastian figure, and two more outfits for Ariel (mermaid and pink). I show the set boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed in various configurations. I put the set in front of the background formed by the inner box, and finally rebox the set.
Ariel is sporting her blue kingdom tour dress, and finally has her hair parted in the correct side of her head (on her left). She also has some heavily gelled bangs on her right side reminiscent of Snow Queen Elsa's crown of bangs.
Eric is in white shirt and blue pants, with black boots. He is remarkable in that he is the first Classic Prince doll to be fully articulated. He has the same body as Li Shang and Flynn Rider of the 2017 Disney Designer Collection limited edition doll sets. So he has a swivel jointed neck, and ball jointed elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles. He can also sit without splaying his legs. As with most Prince dolls, he has a smaller head than his Princess, Ariel, which looks strange when they are side by side.
The boat can be separated from the base, consisting of the plastic water and fish. The oars can be separated from the boat. Sebastian can free stand, or can be inserted into peg at the bow of the boat.
This is a great set, and I think is worth the cost. The only problem is to find a place to put it, especially if it is out of the box.
I got the Anna and Elsa Doll Set for Olaf's Frozen Adventure, from my local Disney Store on Wednesday September 27, 2017. They are in the new Holiday outfits, made of faux suede. Elsa has a cape attached to the back of her dress, and has a fur collar with embedded red jewels. Anna has a jacket that is sewn to her bodice. They both have the new style rubber legs with flat feet. Elsa has flat heeled ice shoes, which are a loose fit. Anna has boots with low heels. Anna is about 1/4 inch taller than Elsa (11 1/2 vs 11 1/4 inches), which looks awkward when they are side by side. They both have new face sculpts, for the first time since their original Classic dolls were introduced in 2013. I like how they look, but I like Elsa more than Anna. The old faces looked younger and cuter, but the new faces are more movie accurate.

The Beast 12'' doll standing, supported by a Kaiser stand. Wearing his winter outfit, with cape. The removable cape is blue velvet on the outside and dark red satin on the inside. It contains foam padding to make the Beast appear much bulkier than his actual body. The collar of the cape doesn't fully cover the Beast's awkward looking neck in the back. My Beast's neck joint was very loose, meaning that it would spin around without any resistance, and was hard to make it keep a pose (that wasn't straight ahead).

Deboxing Designer Snow White. She is removed from the inner box by undoing the tabs and wires holding the doll and stage to the inner box. Then the large plastic support is removed from her head and back, and remaining factory restraints removed from the doll's outfit. Then the doll is removed from the stage by freeing the display stand. Then the display stand is removed from the doll. We lay down the doll and inspect her outfit.
