It is amazing this is still here. This hasn't been Harts since 1991 and Big Bear Plus hasn't operated here for over ten years now.
This opened on March 20th, 1974 as two separate Big Bear (grocery store) and Harts (discount store) stores. Both Big Bear and Harts was owned by Big Bear Stores; they were frequently built attached to each other but were still separate stores.
In 1988 Big Bear came out with a new concept called Big Bear Plus where both Harts and Big Bear were combined into one store. I recall one Big Bear Plus store I was in to be a lot like an older Kmart (it had a drop ceiling with the strips of exposed lighting) with a grocery store added into the existing store. Big Bear Plus stores were no where near the size of most supercenters / hypermarkets; they ranged in size from 70,000 square feet to 140,000 square feet. Most Big Bear Plus stores were around 100,000 square feet, give or take 10,000.
This Big Bear Plus store in Lancaster was 98,000 square feet after Harts and Big Bear stores combined here in mid 1991. All Harts stores not merged with a Big Bear grocery store were closed in the mid-1990s. There was another Big Bear grocery store on the other side of Lancaster but it had no attached Harts store., that store closed in 1999. This store was closed along with the rest of the Big Bear chain in 2004. Most of the building is currently empty but Tractor Supply Company has moved into part of the old Harts part of the store.

Yes, The "Super" and "Center" parts of this sign were simply covered with tape!
This store opened as a Kmart on November 16th, 1995. The store was expanded into a 148,527 square foot Super Kmart in 2001 and had a Kmart Express gas station added. In early 2015, the store underwent a conversion back into a standard Kmart store. Here are some pictures of the 100% complete conversion. Suddenly, but main size for me became 1/4. And it influences my sewing work. I love couples, so I have a lot of couple outfits ideas in my mind. And while my skull is not broken from inside I present outfits of that kind.
Woman dress were intended to be in historical style, but in process I changed my mind to “ethno” style. The result is fun, but harmonical combination. Cyan batiste, TOHO beads of 3 сolors according with fabric – at collar, bottom, belt and decoration over chest. Lacings in sides and sleeves, Closing in the back by snap buttons. Fits Iplehouse FID woman with medium breast size. Shown by Iplehouse FID Mari, glow peach gold skin, medium breast.

Former Wal-Mart Discount Store located at 14550 Beechnut St. in Houston,TX. A small portion of the 131,177 square foot building is currently occupied by an industrial printing firm operating under the name NetBrands Media Corp with the majority of the building sitting vacant.
Note Wal-Mart opened this 90,000 square foot location in 1985. An expansion completed in the early 1990's added 41,177 square feet to the store.

We tend to celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied ad multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

Former Giant Discount Store located at 2601 South Oliver Ave. in Wichita,KS. The building is currently occupied by the Sedgwick County Department of Social Services.
Note Giant opened this 107,000 square foot store on May 24th 1961. In addition to the vast array of discount merchandise the building also housed an IGA Market. The Giant store operated until the Fall of 1977 with the IGA closing in January 1978. Following the closure of Giant the building was sub-divided to house a Mays Drug Store, Whitlock Auto Supply, and in the Summer of 1979 a 55,000 square foot space of the building was leased by Boeing Aerospace for use as a training and workplace facility. *Note I don't have any notes/details as to what (if any) businesses occupied the building throughout the late 1980's until 2005.
In 2005 the 107,000 square foot building was acquired by the US Postal Service which used the facility as a processing and encoding facility. In 2016 the building was converted into its current use as a social services center.
*Note that while the interior of the building has been renovated numerous times the exterior still remains relatively unchanged since 1961 when Giant opened for business.
