GP40PH-2 4100 rockets westbound by F40PH-2CAT 4119 in Waldwick Yard on a spring afternoon. Despite both locomotives' age, scenes like this are still fairly common on the Hoboken Division.

I normally don't do this, but after going back through my stream this morning, I came across one of my own personal faves, and decided to bring it back up to the top. Makes me laugh every time I see it, and just wanted to share with my contacts who may be new/newer to my stream. Happy Sunday to 'ya!

(and yeah, i know it's really a goose!)
Habia comprado botones de varios tamaños, los medianos los utilicé para hacer los anillos y el grande y el pequeño me gustaron para este colgante.
This building is situated in Split in Croatia where I was recently on a short trip. I found this building while looking at Split area on Google earth. It's an amazing building! It's essentially a large tower on the beach with a concrete bridge from the cliff next to it. I asked many locals about it and most had never heard of this place and the few that did had little info other than "it's been closed for over thirty years!". I did a little digging online and there isn't a lot of stuff apart from a very informative article in Croatian. It was built in 1968 and expanded in 1978. The architect, Ante Svarčić, got an award for the design in 1980. This building was a part of Hotel Zagreb which was funded by the JNA (Split Military Construction Directorate) and the hotel was mainly exclusive to military people apart from a small section. The beach building, Disco Club Titanic, however was open to everybody and had a broader purpose than a booming night club. The building served as the main path for the hotel guests to the beach as they'd walk over the concrete bridge and take one of the two glass elevators down for direct access to the beach. There were changing rooms for those who wanted to go to the beach along with storage for beach equipment (benches, sunbrellas, cycling boats...). There was also a large catering hall with a kitchen that could accommodate almost 400 guests along with a small pastry shop. Unfortunately the building only blossomed for about 10 years and fell into abandonment in the Civil War in the early 90's. In an interview, Ante stated that a prospect investor was interested in buying the building, but was unable to reach an agreement with the government which is the current owner, possibly along with others, making negotiations complicated. Ante also stated that even though he's in his 80's, he'd be willing to assist in restoring the building to its former glory since it is one of his pride designs and it breaks his heart to see it in it's current state.

During my visit it became evident that some people now call this place home as there were sleeping bags and piles of stuff in some of the nooks and crannies but no one was home while I was exploring.
Don't they look like they are having a good time, shaking everything about? Or is it just me? Obsessed about trees. But we don't appreciate them enough. With a best friend who is a crazy Finnish log cutter who wants nothing more than to see them in nice regular shapes, I obsess that trees not only have lives but have senses and emotions too. How often have I written of the loneliness of all those lone trees that photographers love to photograph without a care or thought for the tree's happiness?
I caught these four having a right good wiggle, giggling away to themselves and shaking their booty. A happy sight that brought a smile to my face. It was a Roaches disco complete with flared trunks and frizzy permed hair. A rare sight indeed, delightfully presented to you.
Remind yourself what disco dancing was like here (I liked the tall dark one, Lucy Muka from Kenya) . www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl1LP81eSKY
Okay so caught my first broken spectre whilst having a brew and a bite to eat between Y Garn and Foel Goch, which was an added bonus to the day.
More worrying though is my de facto hand held pose which looks disconcertingly like John Travolta on the poster for Saturday Night Fever.
Can't imagine being up here in a white three-piece suit with flares and Cuban heels but the pose definitely needs working on.
Bastad clogs I got on the net a few years ago. I love their look, unfortunately they got a funny shape when I wear them on my feet.
Hypodermic needles do not heat up a party, but disco balls do!
Injektionsnadeln heizen keine Party an, Diskokugeln aber schon!
The Disco Spaceman exploring the exoplanets out there in the galaxy. You never know what you'll find in the far reaches of space.
Ducks added for colour – and madness!
Captured: light show at Gardens By the Bay in Singapore as the park's wonderful trees are illuminated to the sounds of retro fever!
Because "pink and blue eye shadow".
Made for Macro Mondays, theme "eye". I didn't really set out to do a "Flickr colors" theme two weeks in a row, but sometimes things just work out some ways.
The Silent Disco tent at the Dutch Festival. Excellent idea, this - you can speak to people without shouting, dancers can listen to different tunes, and it's great to see people getting down without knowing what they're listening to :-)
