we had a family crab-feast last night for my cousin's belated birthday, and of course my photography instincts kicked in. i thought this was a nice representation of the evening...unfortunately, this little guy didnt have as good of a night as we did!
Same very tiny bee loading up on pollen in the yellow lilies. Have several more of it but just saving this one, as well. Handheld.
Will be off Flickr for a few days. Hoping weather behaves, some storms forecast at times, have had a week with no storms.
At the last moment local authorities decided to keep the ban on indoor restaurant dining in place. Many restaurants continued to set uo tables for outdoor service. I guess in these times a half a loaf seems better than none
The Dining Room. From the living room of the abandoned villa "Belle Feuilles" 2015. In the dining room, the meals were not just eaten so. I think here every meal was celebrated as part of their lifestyle and culture.
The Golden Chariot has 19 specially-designed coaches. There are 11 passenger cars. The design of the cabins is inspired and draws from the Mysore and Belur Halebid schools of art and architecture. The bedspreads are hand-woven by artisans, the guardians of age-old traditions.
The cars have been named after the dynasties that ruled Karnataka (Kadamba, Hoysala, Rastrakuta, Ganga, Chalukya, Bhahamani, Adhilshahi, Sangama, Shathavahna, Yudukula, Vijayanagara), the birds of Karnataka (Kajana, Kogile, Minchulli, Marakata, Navilu) and Karnataka's cultural icons (Jambusavari, Dasara, Nandi).
The two restaurants are designed in the style of Belur and Hampi, catering to vegetarians and non-vegetarians.

There were several eastern kingbirds along the creek which were feeding from the tree branches. Every once in a while they would take off, catch a wasp, and return to the trees to consume their catch.
Christchurch College dining hall in Oxford. It was the inspiration for the Great Hall in the Harry Potter films. but full of tourists when we were there so not conducive to wider shots.
The dining area inside the Mission where the Franciscan friars entertain their guests in the 18th Century California.

Lots of effort went in doing the interiors for this area and I am very happy with this now. I finally got my house interiors done after a year of moving in.

The Blue Heron Restaurant, known for its fine dining on the Lake of the Ozarks, sits on one of the highest points along the 1,150 mile shoreline of the lake. This is a shot taken one evening on a day when the restaurant was closed and shows one of the views overlooking the water..
As noted on their website, www.theblueheronrestaurant.net, "This fourteen acre site sits majestically on the highest point above beautiful Lake Ozark." There were many fascinating decorations and works of art on the lake side of the restaurant, including a large heron on its nest towering overhead.

One of the most wonderful places for lunch I've ever been to – looking down on the medieval heart of Dubrovnik, Croatia, from the peak above.
There is a huge retired dining car side-tracked in the railyard at Evanston, Wyoming. It looks like the windows were boarded up decades ago and appropriate silhouettes painted on the boards. Now they look like ghostly travelers enjoying a quiet meal together.
This was an M P & M dining car, a division of Union Pacific.
