Moving to a new sim has had me working around the clock, still not completed but this was a pleasant distraction from having coffee and sandwiches placed under my door (thanks to Aimee) - instead they treated me to dinner at The Marakin Resort @ *Lyrics* new sim

One of my favourite things to do in Chiang Mai was to hit up the local restaurants after dark. You could pick them out from afar as their cold unflattering light became beacons in the night. Time seemed to slow down in these places as the street and pedestrian traffic slowed to a near halt.
Above are the beautifully etched doors leading into the upper floor of the dining area. Our assigned table was in the upper right hand corner of the picture below. By the second night, the sea had calmed considerably and we were able to enjoy the first of two gala dinners, where we got dressed a bit fancier than the rest of the week. Fortunately, we all survived the earlier rough sea day without incident!

Common Hoverfly (Melangyna viridiceps)
Starting to see a few around now that the weather is finally starting to warm up.
It's so nice to watch the red necked grebe family. Mom and Dad seem to have clearly defined duties in caring for the youngsters. In this case and most others I've seen, Dad does the grocery shopping and Mom keeps the home fires burning. This was a far reach and needed some cropping.
