I really miss that lens. It was stolen from me ☹️ together with a Porta VU 4x5" camera I built myself mounted on a Arca Swiss rail.
Maybe the title should be:
A Digital Pirate's Life!
My local Lego User Group (GtwLUG) held a competition to build a "Pirate's Life Vignette".
I decided to go in a slightly different direction to most other entries, and I created a vignette of a digital pirate's lair!
The lair has everything that the pirate needs:
- a computer,
- a stack of blank CDs/DVDs,
- headphones,
- a comfortable chair,
- a pizza, and
- a can of soda.
The natural enemy of the digital pirate is sunlight, so the curtains are only partly open.
In keeping with the nautical theme, the poster on the wall is for the 'Captains Daughter' (part 2335pb075).
This MOC was also mentioned in Beyond The Brick's video of Brickworld Chicago 2017.
The #CCLNRB
The CCLNRB is a joint project by Goethe-Institut Nairobi, Motion Bank and NODE Forum for Digital Arts, Frankfurt.
Eight Kenyan and German artists are commissioned to create a project evolving around the them of „Designing Hope“ with their very different artistic means: choreography, the voice, composition, vr-technology or other digital art practices.
#CCLNRB artists are Melisa Allela, Benjamin van Bebber, Amelie Hinrichsen, Leo Hofmann, Alacoque Ntome, Awuor Onyango, Jared Onyango and Else Tunemyr.
The artists are discussing “hope” as a usually positively perceived yet ambiguous concept: Is a state of hope actually encouraging? What is the difference between hope and optimism? Doesn't hope always come with anxiety? And what is the role of technology in the shaping of social imaginaries?
In their interdisciplinary constellation the #CCLNRB members investigated different cultural fields that provide or make use of hope as a means and medium: from pop-music to religion, from commercial advertisement to the promises of technological innovation for development. During the presentation the group will showcase alternative concepts or settings for rethinking the quality of hope, ideas on utopia and dystopia.
In June 2017, the artists will meet for further two weeks to continue the collaboration in Frankfurt, Germany. The final result will be premiered at the German festival NODE17 Forum for Digital Arts in Frankfurt (Main) at Mousonturm and Naxoshalle Given future fundings, we will bring back the final project to Kenya in November 2017 to NFPMA (Nairobi Festival of Performance and Media Arts).
#CCLNRB has also been supported by Technical University of Kenya.

John Joseph "Jack" Nicholson (born April 22, 1937) is an American actor, film director, producer and writer. He is renowned for his often dark portrayals of neurotic characters. His twelve Oscar nominations make him the second most nominated actor of all time, behind only Meryl Streep, and tied with Katharine Hepburn.
Nicholson has been nominated for an Academy Award twelve times and has won the Academy Award for Best Actor twice: for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and for As Good as It Gets. He also won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the 1983 film Terms of Endearment. He is tied with Walter Brennan for most acting wins by a male actor (three). This is not portfolio worthy but more of a test. Any other Sony users that have tried Clear Image Zoom? It uses the RAW file to zoom in on the fly so the image is saved as JPG. This is my chicken Yellow. She is 60 feet away. This is non cropped on 400mm lens with 2x digital zoom on. Did see some loss of adjustment in Capture One (of course) but gobsmacked at the level of detail digitally zoomed in. Amazing!

Christian Charles Philip Bale (born 30 January 1974) is an British actor. He has starred in both blockbuster films and smaller projects from independent producers and art houses.
Bale first caught the public eye at the age of 13, when he was cast in the starring role of Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun (1987). Based on the original story by J. G. Ballard, Bale played an English boy who is separated from his parents and subsequently finds himself lost in a Japanese internment camp during World War II. In 2000, he garnered critical acclaim for his portrayal of serial killer Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. He earned a reputation as a method actor after he lost 63 pounds to play the role of Trevor Reznik in The Machinist (2004).
Bale went on to receive greater commercial recognition and acclaim for his performance as Bruce Wayne / Batman in Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012).
