The Digital Innovation Board is one of the three main vehicles of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance for Digital Development, a flagship initiative of the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The newly appointed Digital Innovation Board and each of its esteemed Members will immensely contribute to shaping an inclusive digital future for all, as the Alliance aims to accelerate digital transformation by fostering local digital innovation and entrepreneurial capacities.
To kick-off the activities of the Digital Innovation Board, the inaugural meeting of its members took place on 19 and 20 March 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland.

When sitting down to read the Inevitable by Kevin Kelly and and learning about Cognification and it’s implications a particular line really struck me ‘there is nothing as consequential as making a dumb thing smarter’. My mind immediately went to Snapchat and it’s relatively new AI feature. Previously I used Snapchat for sending pictures to friends instead of simple text messages and have used the Snapchat memories features as a kind of photo diary, posting memorable days and events over the years. I haven’t used it’s AI feature as AI just hasn’t been on my radar. 8 asked it to summarise the book for me and from seeing the nice little summary of gave of the book I would definitely consider that integrating AI into the app has indeed made a relatively dumb thing smarter. For people like that haven’t used Snapchat AI much and would like to learn a little more about it before jumping in, I found this nice little guide by Screen Rant helpful: screenrant.com/what-you-can-do-with-snapchats-my-ai
