When sitting down to read the Inevitable by Kevin Kelly and and learning about Cognification and it’s implications a particular line really struck me ‘there is nothing as consequential as making a dumb thing smarter’. My mind immediately went to Snapchat and it’s relatively new AI feature. Previously I used Snapchat for sending pictures to friends instead of simple text messages and have used the Snapchat memories features as a kind of photo diary, posting memorable days and events over the years. I haven’t used it’s AI feature as AI just hasn’t been on my radar. 8 asked it to summarise the book for me and from seeing the nice little summary of gave of the book I would definitely consider that integrating AI into the app has indeed made a relatively dumb thing smarter. For people like that haven’t used Snapchat AI much and would like to learn a little more about it before jumping in, I found this nice little guide by Screen Rant helpful: screenrant.com/what-you-can-do-with-snapchats-my-ai

"This job used to make me miserable because of the anxiety stemmed in the guilt for being in "Attack Mode" all the time until one day, I decided to give in, and fully embrace my inner sociopath and narcissistic tendencies. When I did this, and forgave myself for doing so, I felt both at peace and a new form of inner rage simultaneously, and at this moment, I became dangerous."- James Scott, Senior fellow, ICIT and CCIOS
