Bailey, a beautiful Percheron horse, and her rider pose for a photograph. The old weathered barn in the background is located on the outskirts of Carthage, Illinois. Although I've taken pictures here of the barn with tractors, a horse just seemed to be a natural with the old barn.
I've ridden Bailey once... and dearly loved it! She is kind and gentle. According to Nancy, Bailey's owner (not shown here), "Bailey is the den mother of this group of goofy geldings and a molly mule. She sometimes is off by herself and does appear rather forlorn. She loves attention though she is not one to crowd the gate. She is Yin to Diamond's Yang. She is great fun to ride especially after a long, cold winter. She is full of energy and a little taken with herself. Something of a show-off!"
Update: Incidentally, the barn is no longer there! I drove by it sometime around the end of February (2019) and was surprised to see that it had been removed.

My mid-morning break - a nice thick slice of rhubarb bread with butter, and a cup of French Vanilla coffee.
The rhubarb bread I make, was the Alaskan State Fair blue ribbon winner way back in the mid-nineteen seventies. It is the best I have ever tried, and even rhubarb haters love it. Enough said.
Filter fun for an already abstract architecture. Frank Gehry is the architect. I'm thinking I need to go photograph Gaudi's la Sagrada Familia next, . . .
This is what you get when the clown is not kept happy.
Thank you to my buddy, Jim aka siskokid for providing me with the clown picture that I built this image around. He's a trooper, taking direction from me for the pose, and then making it even better. Go check his pictures out!
This is the first picture from my new camera (old one died last week). Thank you Ed, aka petparazzi for loaning me a camera for the last week! You are a good friend.
Thanks to everyone for visits , comments , awards and invitations, I appreciate your feedback very much
Things are getting out of hand. I just don't know how this keeps happening. I don't touch AI. Crazy stuff.
The title is a bit of a joke. I use a generalized linear model as one way to statistically analyze data in my real job. Then this art work's primary attribute is its use of linear perspective, using a very generalized model of such.
I employed several new techniques I came up with on this one so I think of it as more of a prototype. Still it almost gets at what I was trying to do so I'm going to post it.
It has been a rather dreary and rain soaked day - so I thought I'd add a little color to my photostream with one of my favorite Chevron cars. I just wish I could shrink down to a very tiny person - climb in - and go off exploring.
Photo of part of a building, modified with a variety of digital filters to produce this abstract image.
For those of you who are enjoying spring flowers - I thought you might like to see my yard in spring. About 2 feet of snow still covers the ground, where the wildflowers will one day bloom. The blue winter shadows are still with us, as the sun rises ever higher in the sky each day. Our burn barrel (in the foreground) is almost 3 foot tall, and the snow is three quarters of the way up it. The bears are eager to leave their dens - but there is nothing for them to eat - but me!!!
Welcome to "spring" in bush Alaska.
Racing on sidewalks (with cell phones) is a common trend & no one looks around anymore until the hit a stop sign......

These old tin cans were setting out under a couple of feet of snow all winter, and have just re-emerged. When I spotted them in the early morning sun - I liked the color and shadows surrounding them. So basically - here is my photo of "junk", exactly as they laid all winter.
Thank you so much for taking the time to view my work :)

I couldn't resist taking this photo when I saw these flowers inthe doorway of a shop.

Using up a bunch of stills of a black capped night heron active during the day. The stills were taken on the RBG grounds at Cootes Paradise. The pond's surface covered with a carpet of vegetation proved to be quite the challenge to see through. A blue heron nearby was not having much luck either...
