Like any self respecting gadgeteer, I've always traveled with a power strip (or two) in my luggage, but I'm also on a quest to pare pounds and clutter off my kit. When I discovered Monster's CablesTo Go a few years back I immediately switched over to them for their compact form and excellent cable management. Now they've added a USB charging port on the side so I can leave one more thing home when I go on safari. Nice Monster. Pepcom events always offer a dazzling array of products, lots of good stuff to nibble on, and cheerful folks dressed up according to whatever theme organizers Chris O'Malley and Jon Pepper can dream up. This early summer event turned Manhattan's steamy heat into a jungle safari, complete with live parrots, attractive explorers, and....
Speaking of aliens, we're still not used to the new look of Linksys' routers, which look like something that might poke its head out of a Martian War machine with bad intent. Though they were showing new "G" units to round out the Martian look line we agreed that the real story was still N units like their N Ultra RangePlus which we'd seen at CES earlier in the year. Our one complaint was that the rounded surface didn't allow stacking, but they patiently explained that this was the idea...you shouldn't stack things on your wireless access points, If you'd like though, it will mount on the wall where it can keep an eye on your human activities...(See full event coverage at TechRevu: Pepcom Safari Digital Experience in NYC)
