More than 70 policy-makers, educators, community leaders and stakeholders convened September 13 to address digital inequity in North Carolina, focusing on the homework gap: the difficulty or inability of students who lack high-speed internet connectivity at home to complete homework assignments, compared to their classmates with access.
The North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NC DIT) Broadband Infrastructure Office (BIO) and the William Ida Friday Institute for Educational Innovation, at North Carolina State University, hosted the “2017 Homework Gap Convening.”

During latest short period, there are three Internet café launched. Their main customers are high school students having school assignment to use Net for reference. Telkom Speedy is first provider coming. Though celluller based Internet is available using GPRS, it will take longer time for Internet usage for individual.

It is not only people in rural area that need a telecentre, but city people as well. A commercial Internet cafe at a mall in Bangkok provide services for those without Internet access at home (which is in fact many), travellers/tourist and visitors to be digitally connected.
