This was also the first time I had seen this species. There was a single Sea-lion amongst a group of New Zealand Fur seals at Cape du Couedic on Kangaroo Island. You can also walk on a beach of Sea-lions at Seal Bay.
The 'lump' on it's belly could possibly be a small rock it has swallowed to assist with digestion or also to help it to dive deeper and feed.

The lymphatic system is part of the immune system where cleansing of blood, and the detoxification of our bodies takes place. A huge network of lymphatic vessels recycles blood plasma by removing fluid from the tissues, filtering it, and carrying it back into the bloodstream.
These are foods to add into your diet to boost the lymphatic system:
* Nuts and seeds
The essential healthy fats found in seeds like chia, nuts, olive oil, coconut oil, and avocado, play a role in fighting inflammation. They also strengthen our inner organs walls.
* Adaptogenic herbs
Goldenseal, Echinacea, and Astragalus are three herbs that help alleviate inflammation and congestion of the lymph nodes and vessels.
* Garlic
Garlic boosts immune function and combats harmful microbes. It improves circulation and aids in the cleansing of toxins. It boosts the function of your lymphatic system and contains antibacterial qualities.
* Ginger / Turmeric
Both have beneficial effects on digestion and circulation; two systems that are tied directly to the processes of the lymphatic system. Also they help reduce inflammation, thin blood and improve circulation.
* Seaweed
Sea vegetables help the body detox and eliminate excess fluid that can build up in tissues and slow the lymphatic system down.
* Citrus
Citrus fruits aid hydration, carry powerful antioxidants and enzymes, and help cleanse and protect the lymphatic system.

These are 10 foods to add into your diet to boost the lymphatic system:
* Water
May not be a food item, but essential to life. Drink plenty of clean, purified water. Water keeps the lymph fluid hydrated and flowing smoothly.
* Cranberry
Cranberry is an amazing emulsifier of fat which means it helps break down excess fat for the lymphatic vessels to carry away.

Rabbits are small mammals in the family Leporidae of the order Lagomorpha, found in several parts of the world. There are seven different genera in the family classified as rabbits, including the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), Cottontail rabbit (genus Sylvilagus; 13 species), and the Amami rabbit (Pentalagus furnessi, endangered species on Amami Ōshima, Japan). There are many other species of rabbit, and these, along with pikas and hares, make up the order Lagomorpha.
Rabbits are hindgut digesters. This means that most of their digestion takes place in their large intestine and cecum. In rabbits, the cecum is about 10 times bigger than the stomach, and it, along with the large intestine, makes up roughly 40% of the rabbit's digestive tract. Cecotropes, sometimes called "night feces", come from the cecum and are high in minerals, vitamins and proteins that are necessary to the rabbit's health. Rabbits eat these to meet their nutritional requirements. This process allows rabbits to extract the necessary nutrients from their food.
Rabbits are herbivores who feed by grazing on grass, forbs, and leafy weeds. In consequence, their diet contains large amounts of cellulose, which is hard to digest. Rabbits solve this problem by passing two distinct types of feces: hard droppings and soft black viscous pellets, the latter of which are immediately eaten. Rabbits reingest their own droppings (rather than chewing the cud as do cows and many other herbivores) to digest their food further and extract sufficient nutrients.
The chewed plant material collects in the large cecum, a secondary chamber between the large and small intestine containing large quantities of symbiotic bacteria that help with the digestion of cellulose and also produce certain B vitamins.
Rabbits are incapable of vomiting due to the physiology of their digestive system.
Rabbits have been a source of environmental problems when introduced into the wild by humans. As a result of their appetites, and the rate at which they breed, wild rabbit depredation can be problematic for agriculture. Gassing, barriers (fences), shooting, snaring, and ferreting have been used to control rabbit populations, but the most effective measures are diseases such as myxomatosis (myxo or mixi, colloquially) and calicivirus. In Europe, where rabbits are farmed on a large scale, they are protected against myxomatosis and calicivirus with a genetically modified virus. The virus was developed in Spain, and is beneficial to rabbit farmers. If it were to make its way into wild populations in areas such as Australia, it could create a population boom, as those diseases are the most serious threats to rabbit survival. Rabbits in Australia are considered to be such a pest that land owners are legally obliged to control them.
Rabbits and hares were formerly classified in the order Rodentia (rodent) until 1912, when they were moved into a new order Lagomorpha. This order also includes pikas.
Wild rabbits often make their nests in areas that boggle our minds... sometimes even right in the MIDDLE of an open yard. They are "hiding in plain sight" as often the predators that they naturally fear would be too timid to enter those areas. They don't count on the family dog or cat also being a problem!
The way that a mother rabbit cares for the babies limits her time in the nest, which further makes it less likely a predator will find the nest. So if you find a nest of baby rabbits, think twice before doing anything that requires that you touch the baby rabbits or disturb the nest.
Rabbits are Well known for their long ears, soft furry coats, and fuzzy tails. Rabbits grow to nearly 24 inches /60 Centimeters. Weight can reach nearly 12 pounds/5 kilograms.
Color of their fur can range from black, brown, white, or a mixture.
Their long ears help cool their bodies, as the blood flows through them.
Wild rabbits eat the tender bark of some sprouts, also flowers, and other vegetation. They can play havoc with a garden. So most people don't want them in their gardens.
Rabbits dig burrows in the ground to live in, where they raise up to eight litters of three to eight babies a year. Rabbits can live up to ten years. But are lucky to live more than three years inthe wild.
As with most wild creatures. It is best not to try to catch or handle wild rabbits. They will fight, scratch, kick, and bite. It is best to just watch them or take pictures.. If you wish a rabbit for a pet. There are pet stores, and breeders that have many good breeds available as pets.

Dinner's over! A carnivore thing! We eat hamburgers; snakes eat rodents... and, in Bandit's case, kingsnakes can eat other snakes and are immune to rattlesnake venom. Notice the lump in "Bandit's" mid-section. Now he will begin the process of digestion. And remember, this little guy is only about 8 inches long. It'll be cool to document his growing. Photo by Frank

L’olio essenziale è ricco in carvone.

Researchers are preparing to float down the Savannah River to help answer one of the river's most complex questions: Just how fast does it digest everything that flows into it?
