I love those paintings where the sea merges into the sky. Today it was really like that at Perranporth.

It is one of very creative product in Hong Kong.

Replace the old stye CO2 diffuser.

This also including increasing O2 and CO2 in Tank, I think it is a great product which can combine air and co2 diffuser in one.

A recent B&H video demonstrated various single flash techniques, including bare, softbox, reflective umbrella, and shoot-through umbrella. I loved the look of the shoot-through shots. Then it hit me. I have a big 5-in-1 reflector kit with a diffusion disc inside it... What if I were to shoot through that? It's not curved, but otherwise, it's the same idea...

These two shots are a single 600EX-RT, resting on the couch, optically triggered by the 7D2's pop-up flash, and shot through the diffusion disc held just outside the frame, a couple feet from the flash.

I have seen a few of these types of pictures floating around so it is certainly not an original idea but it was my first try at something like this. Believe me.....it's a pain in the a$$. If you attempt it, make sure you bring your patience with you.

To get this shot here is what you need: LUCK....LOTS OF IT or some fancy shutter releases that work with sound or movement.

How I got it:

Small fish tank filled with water, dark blue cardboard for the backdrop and light blue construction paper for the bottom part. The only reason I used the light blue paper was because I had a light behind the tank that kept showing up in the pictures so I tried covering the plastic so you couldn't see the white part. That particular light was a regular small florescent light (similar to something you would mount under a cabinet or work bench). I also had my flash positioned above the tank pointing down on it. Since I don't have any fancy stands or anything, I used a few clamps and my ring stand from my classroom to keep it in place. I believe it was set to 1/8th power with a snap on diffuser on it. The rest was just lucky timing with dropping the limes. I just kept it on continuous release and held it as I dropped the fruit.

Diffuser in action! I built two of these for Lego model photography. Sometimes clamp lights slip on piping, so it's handy to hook the clamp around a thread on the 1/2" clamp. Articulating arm can be adjusted to change the angle of light you need, though I usually leave it facing slightly downward as shown. Window screens can be had for free or cheap if you seek them on Craigslist. Combine that with a paper box and a light-weight DIY diffuser of this sort is possible!

Last night I was busy running errands and cleaning up in between classes, and then after my studio got out at 8:30 I just didn't have much motivation for a picture. But, I had purchased this diffuser in the dollar section of Target, so I figured it would make for an interesting photograph despite already being empty.

Now, before you try to figure out what you need to do in order to find the right aluminum for your projects, you must understand the importance aluminum extrusion profiles.

What is Aluminum Profile?

It is the process where the Aluminum alloy is transformed into specific cross-section profiles for various uses. The extrusion process brings the best physical characteristics of the alloy. In fact, the malleability is the flexible factor that allows the alloy to be machined easily. But you need to find the perfect company that is expert in aluminum extrusion profiles.

What do you think about the focus point on this one? ... Confusing or not? Is it a good photo? ... I'm in doubt.

Testing out diffusion for my Nikon R1. Used a small Actimel bottle cut lengthways.

What to do on a rainy Saturday .. Lets build a Softbox, Light tent, Diffuser, ect.

This is my first shot at building one so cut me some slack, it's more of a proof of concept than a working model. Okay, more of a MacGyver prototype.

$20.00 at the BigBox clearance section, few things from around the house and presto change-o, Light Tent.

Mindless experiments from a single phonesnap. Thisis whatwould be called 'fake HDR' - tonemapping not different in-camera exposures, but different in-editor levels. Additionally diffused for a 'glow-y' feel.
