Bereits seit Mitte 2017 sind bei SBB Cargo drei Prima H3-Hybridlokomotiven in geschlossenen Bereichen des Hafens Basel-Kleinhüningen und in Wildegg im Einsatz. Aufgrund dieses Erfolges werden die neu bestellten Prima H3-Lokomotiven mit PZB / ETCS-Zugsicherungssystemen ausgestattet und für den Betrieb auf dem Schweizer Eisenbahnnetz zugelassen. Gebaut werden die Fahrzeuge in Stendal, Deutschland. Alstom übernimmt die Halterschaft und Betreuung der Lokomotiven. Die Instandhaltung hingegen führt SBB Cargo im Auftrag von Alstom durch.

Einsparung von bis zu 865 000 Liter Diesel jährlich
Mit bis zu 50 Prozent weniger CO2-Ausstoss und Dieselverbrauch, leistet SBB Cargo einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur Verbesserung der Nachhaltigkeitsziele. Dank seiner Hybridtechnologie können mit den 12 Prima H3 bis zu 865 000 Liter Diesel jährlich eingespart werden. Im Vergleich zu konventionellen Rangierlokomotiven erzeugt der Hybridantrieb der Prima H3 bis zu 50 Prozent weniger CO2, insgesamt können damit ca. 2 400 Tonnen CO2 vermieden werden. Andere Schadstoffemissionen werden sogar um bis zu 70 Prozent reduziert. Ein weiterer Vorteil der Hybridlokomotive ist, dass sie je nach Einsatz zwischen 50 und 75 Prozent im Batteriebetrieb fahren kann und dies auch Anwohner ruhiger schlafen lässt. Dies ermöglicht zusätzlich einen emissionsfreien Schienenverkehr in städtischen Gebieten oder im Inneren von Produktionshallen. Der für künftige Emissionsnormen entwickelte 350-kW-Dieselgenerator erfüllt die Abgasnorm Stufe IIIB.
Der Gesamtauftrag der 12 Prima H3-Hybridlokomotiven beläuft sich für die SBB Cargo auf rund 32 Millionen Euro. Innovativ sind die Hybridlokomotiven einerseits da sie mit Strom und Diesel laufen und andererseits wegen der spezifischen Dreiachser-Konstruktion sowie ihrer Geschwindigkeit von bis zu 100 km/h. Somit kann das bestehende Fahrzeugportfolio von SBB Cargo flexibilisiert und der Lückenschluss zwischen den bestehenden 2- und 4-achsigen Maschinen erreicht werden.
Die H3 ist Teil der Alstom Prima-Reihe von Lokomotiven, von denen weltweit über 4 200 Stück verkauft wurden. Die Prima H3 Hybridlokomotiven werden mittlerweile von elf Kunden in Deutschland und der Schweiz eingesetzt, darunter Volkswagen, Deutsche Bahn, Audi, InfraLeuna, Mitteldeutsche Eisenbahn Gesellschaft (MEG), Chemion und SBB Cargo.
Der FullService-Vertrag mit fest vereinbarten Verfügbarkeitswerten und einer vertraglichen Dauer von zehn Jahren erlaubt SBB Cargo Flexibilität im Einsatz der Hybridlokomotiven und ermöglicht optimierte Steuerung von Cash- und Life-Cycle-Management. SBB Cargo will zukünftig Innovationszyklen verkürzen, den Benchmark zu Marktentwicklungen aktiver steuern und somit das Rollmaterial zielgerichtet zur Steigerung der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit einsetzen.

Da wir (nach Voranmeldung) Heute und Morgen Donnerstag wegen Revisionsarbeiten keinen Netzstrom erhalten, wurde beim Transformator "Lungern" ein Dieselgenerator der Elektra Baselland (EBL) hingestellt. Dieser versorgt uns mit Strom in den Stunden des Unterbruches. Allerdings sollten wir keine "stromfressenden" Geräte und Maschinen in Betrieb nehmen, da sonst das Netz ausgeschaltet wird, also auch keine Handyladegeräte, Laptops usw...;-)
