Carrying a special livery for the Belmond Royal Scotsman, the stock of which the locomotive was running round at Edinburgh Waverley. The locomotive carries the legend 'Belmond Royal Scotsman' however this does not show too well on the photograph. It has to be said though, it looks lush!

I think you can barely see him there in the window.

Class31 601 worked the 4pm service to Duffield, then the Shunter Wigan2 took 3 carriages to Duffield in the evening.. Great fun

These were one of the first diesel rail-cars introduced by British Rail (BR) in the 1950s.
