I did this photo of this kingfisher in flight even is weather was very bad because for my it's unusual to see one of them near to a street in a city. Distance was 70m. You can zoom in for more details.
J'ai fait cette photo de ce martin pêcheur en vol même si le temps était très mauvais car pour moi c'est inhabituel d'en voir un près d'une route dans une ville. La distance etait de 70m. Vous pouvez zoomer pour plus de details.

I did this series some time ago with a lot of fun, but also with a lot of "...!!!" as the blueberry kept moving and floating out of focus with each bursting bubble.
I was happy about this week's theme for LCoF, that meant an entry for another one of the bubble pictures. Thank you, Maria!
HLCoF to all participants 💙💙💙
As the Vulture flew off folks so do the Hawk, but as I watched him go, all he did was feel safe enough to make a small circle and return to the same perch, just lucky I did not move and hung in there.
Thank you all.
I made my annual pilgrimage to the Wooden Shoe Tulip fields just east of Woodburn Oregon.
I had been waiting a long time for Mother Nature to cooperate, and she finally did.
Getting up at 4:00 AM in the morning to get there before sunrise was well worth it!
The sun was just coming up over the horizon and just to the right of Mt. Hood.
This image will start out a series of tulip photographs that I will be posting in the days to come.
Have a wonderful Friday and upcoming weekend everyone! :-)
More of my work can be seen, and or purchased, by visiting the link below. Thank You!
I did not eat here. There was one of these in Austin and it closed down. It, too , was in a great location. However, the lights and colors from the restaurant made for a great night shot. I hope you all are enjoying my vacation through my lenses..;)
I want to go back, but not with the same person..:)
I did something I normally do not like to do for the past 2 days… no electricity/heat what can you do? But try to stay warm and shoot right through the dirty glass window to the backyard.
I will travel round the world one night

We did a bunch of birding while in Belize and I tried on a few occasions to photograph birds while there - this guy appeared right as we were leaving for the airport, only a few meters from the deck of the house we stayed in - had to pull out the camera for a last-minute shot!
Did you know that it was on Saltburn sands that Sir Malcolm Campbell set his first speed record? His borrowed 350hp Sunbeam V12 reached 138.08 mph on June 17 1922, breaking the record set in the same car at Brooklands by Lee Guinness a month earlier by more than 4mph. Sadly the French body then overseeing such records wouldn’t accept the new figure as hand-held instead of the regulation electric timers had been used.
I did have a profile view of this dog but this simply was a more interesting shot. I have a problem with dogs impersonating humans in cars. It is distracting.
So this is what I went for today.
I am going to hold back on posting to the smile group as there always seems to be some question about my image. I am tired of the hassle.
Happy Dog Day
Did you understand from my shot that they are not natural ones 😊🙏
Standard roses have pointed shape petals rotated around one center while Garden roses have ruffled petals swirling around different centers to form a rounded bloom🙏
I did this with a mirror sunk in some water to get the reflection, the grass stem was placed in a tub with earth to hold it up and sprayed with water to get the droplet for those of you that are interested in such things! with the aid of PS as well!
"I did not do long trips.
My years had roots, they were trees
that the heart clothed them with leaves
and let them bloom among the stone.
I did not do long trips.
The people I loved were forests,
my moon friends were islands
which my heart longed to seek.
My longest journey, you,
the night you the dream of the day.
My little homeland, my body and beginning,
my earth, you my, breath and air.
I did not do long trips.
My heart wandered and that's enough for me.
In dreams, in wet feelings,
the secret to make the world breathe.
My longest journey, you,
the night you the dream of the day.
My little homeland, my body and beginning,
my earth, you my, breath and air."
I did not have a good week last week. It had a lot to do with the vet I took my cat to. You should read it if you have a pet who hasn't been sick for a while. readmeri.wordpress.com/2020/07/20/ranty-mcrantface/

...::: Don't dream it's over :::...
There is freedom within
There is freedom without
Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup
There's a battle ahead
Many battles are lost
But you'll never see the end of the road
While you're traveling with me
Hey now,
Don't dream it's over
Hey now,
When the world comes in
They come,
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win
Now I'm towing my car
There's a hole in the roof
My possessions are causing me suspicion but there's no proof
In the paper today
Tales of war and of waste
But you turn right over to the T.V. page
Hey now,
Don't dream it's over
When the world comes in
They come,
To build a wall between us
We know they won't win
Now I'm walking again
To the beat of a drum
And I'm counting the steps to the door of your heart
Only shadows ahead
Barely clearing the roof
Get to know the feeling of liberation and release
Hey now,
Don't dream it's over
I did not take it lightly that I had the opportunity to photograph the most famous Zamrock band of the 1970s, WITCH or We Intend to Cause Havoc. I am grateful I had a chance to see these greats play in the flesh in my own city. Here's the history of the band:

The winter and the cold wave came to Switzerland.
With this picture I did not make it easy for me. At first I really could not decide which photo to put on flickr. I wrestled with myself, because I would like to present the most beautiful photo for my friends here. Secondly, the picture was made under very difficult external conditions, because it was really "bitterly cold". I could barely touch my hands after photographing and yet I wanted to get a nice photo of these beautiful ice crystals. I succeeded, more or less, because the background was not ideal for that. In addition, my faithful friend Roco had to wait for me and there I no longer want to start one try after another. This time I did not want to make any compromises with the warm colors of the picture, because the cold should be very touchable. I believe this has succeeded with this picture. I am fascinated by this "little work of art". Each little detail is a miracle of creation, because it was shaped by the elements of nature and radiates its brilliance as long as this nature allows.
I am grateful for these little things without which life would not be so beautiful and interesting.
Rejoice over the elements of nature.
Erwin
I thank you all for the interest and enthusiasm for my work here. I am happy about every comment from you and every time you like my pictures. Thank you very much for all the favorites and for watching my photos.
Small supplement of today:
The winter has caught up with me too, for I am terribly cold. Nevertheless, or just because of this, I am looking forward to every single word from you. Also, I always see in the little things, which makes the importance and beauty of life. Wish all of you a blessed time, without illness and with much love and joy. Hope you can all be in a nice warm place, because outside it is extremely cold here. Brrrrrr .....

Lene did not know about cats before she met me, but now she is Caithlin's favourite human...

How did it get so late so soon? It’s night before it’s afternoon. December is here before it’s June. My goodness, how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?

juvenile marsh harrier (up) squawking at it's mum (down) for the moorhen chick in her claws. I don't know what I was doing with my shutter speed so excuse the quality lol but it shows some good behaviour. I'll be posting the mid air swap from the rear in about a week

"Did you hear about the rose that grew
from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's law is wrong it
learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams,
it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete
when no one else ever cared."

I wish I found some better sounds no one's ever heard
I wish I had a better voice that sang some better words
I wish I found some chords in an order that is new
I wish I didn't have to rhyme every time I sang
I was told when I get older, all my fears would shrink
But now I'm insecure, and I care what people think
My name's Blurryface and I care what you think
My name's Blurryface and I care what you think
Wish we could turn back time
To the good old days
When our mama sang us to sleep
But now we're stressed out (oh)
Wish we could turn back time (oh)
To the good old days (oh)
When our mama sang us to sleep
But now we're stressed out
We're stressed out
I did a little serie of photos of this Wood duke with nice colors on the lake so I dont know if the main subject is the duck or the colors ? The bird is the same but the reflections and the colors on the lake are really different. Please zoom in for a better image quality.

Did a quick raid on Glencoe for the trip up Beinn a'Chrùlaiste for sunset. However, after a scorching hot day of blue skies, the clouds rolled in a blotted out the sun well before sunset. Luckily i managed a few shots with Pete posing on the famous 'lump', enjoying the view of BEM and the Glencoe valley off in the distance. All was not lost, however, as the Clachaig was open for a very well- earned rebalancing of body fluids.
Did you forget to call me?
Or baby, did you lose my number?
Don't tell me that you're sorry
Whose covers are you sleeping under?
I was just across the street
And I just wanted to reach out
Thinking we could get together
And I didn't mean to stalk you
But I saw that guy you talked to
Everybody knows I'm jealous
And I know it's not all about me
I know that you don't come easily
But you reach for the stars if it's worth it
If you're gonna act like we're just friends
Throw away the messages I sent
If you're playing a game, then it's working
Did you forget to call me?
Or baby, did you lose my number?
(Did you lose my number?)
Don't tell me that you're sorry
Whose covers are you sleeping under?
You know I just want someone that I can love
Someone that I can love
Someone that I can love
Can love
Did you forget to call me?
Or baby, did you lose my number?

The Red-winged Blackbird is a highly polygamous species, with one male having up to 15 different females making nests in his territory.
A male fiercely defends his territory during the breeding season.
Some birds may travel as far as 80 km (50 mi) between the roosting and feeding sites.
In the wild, red-winged blackbirds live an average of 2 years.
The oldest recorded red-winged blackbird in the wild lived for 15 years and 9 months.
I found this male along the shore of Lake Kissimmee!
Did not have one of my cameras on hand so a cell phone was used to get this photo of some fungus growing on a tree
