Having taken multiple photos yesterday on a day out, I pretty much forgot til later today. As the day was dominated by appointments, I've done a quick "on the floor" shot of phone, iPad, and diary. I seem to like colourful covers.

The year is ending and also my visual diary is in the final pages. All the days, I like to do a little drawing, collage or illustration to mark the days. This year I had a beautiful diary from Finland , it was a gift from my dear friend Sandra.

2020 was very strange and very different from everything we experienced in the past. Part of the year was spending at home. And here I'm, again, in my window to close this year.

With hope I embrace 2021. A new visual diary is ready.

Day 305 (v 12.0) - was reminded after posting a different photo but had time to correct the error

Nightshades

#Lugano #diary day 6 #drawing by @peter_seelig

My first photos from Bavaria. I stayed in a small but charming town called Murnau, which sits between Riegsee and Staffelsee. The whole area was lovely and quiet, probably waiting for the winter tourists to arrive. Staffelsee was more suited to tourists, but for my first morning I was up before sunrise to take a walk around Riegsee. I was hoping to catch sunrise but I wouldn't see a sunrise for the whole of my trip due to the weather.

I drove the 5 minutes from my apartment to a car park by Riegsee and it was thick with fog and pouring rain. Well I was already awake, so I decided to wait for light and take a wet walk. I walked around the lake for 30 minutes in this 'soup' like fog, and it wasn't until it began to clear in patches that I realised we were surrounded by beautiful scenery. So it seems it was worth going for that walk, despite no hint of sunrise.

When an event happens - so tragic that nothing can be the same again - it cleaves time in half. Your own history becomes polarised, separated into "life before" and "life after", the event itself marking time like the broken spine of a book; scarred from where the pages were ripped.
