This page recounts the day when I, aged perhaps three years old, crashed my head against a fire grate and had to be rushed to the doctors for treatment. I still have a little scar between my eyes from that incident.
每年總會找時間寫一篇一年回顧, 有時在生日前夕 有時在新曆舊曆年前, 這回寫得有點晚 但總算還在年假的尾聲. 過去一年來, 其實過得有點灰頭土臉的, 在生活與工作上都做了一些嚐試與努力 但都沒什麼結果. 對一些人事物上抱持的微小期望也一一落空, 這個世界還是照著它原本應有的樣子在進行著, 人果然還是只能要求自己和好好努力.
多多少少看了點書, 但還是沒辦法變成一個聰明實際點的人. 似乎每年都有一項是希望自己能成熟一點的願望, 希望能把生活過得實際一些. 但在這一點上似乎還是沒什麼長進, 還是一樣會因為瞧見別人做了不切實際的事情而感到有點開心.
讀過的書籍裏, 有一位作家還蠻有共鳴的. 那位作家在書裏推薦了 倒數第二次的戀愛 這部2012年的日劇, 找來看過後還真的相當喜歡, 應該是心目中日劇排行榜的第一名, 有機會的話 還想去鎌倉和江之島看一看, 但其實可能跟去花東跑一趟差不多的感覺. 這部劇嚴格說起來是日劇形式的 Before Sunrise, 裏頭講述的一些事情, 有些還真的從沒好好想過, 看了兩遍後 覺得學習了不少東西.
年紀愈來愈大之後, 感受最明顯的是年邁父母的身體已經大不如前, 有時候 夜裏想著想著 都會難過到睡不著覺. 自己一直以來還算是蠻關懷老人家的人, 但面對自己的父母 卻有說不盡的愧疚與無力感. 其實明明自己可以做得再好一些 做得再多一些的, 但卻因為自私地不想放棄 而有了很多並沒有做好的地方. 除了更多的陪伴之外 自己也沒能再給些什麼, 但陪伴的同時 心裏也有許多難受, 因為自己的自私與無力而感到的難受. 雖說是這個年紀開始 就該好好準備面對的一些事情, 但每每想到都只想逃避 都只想讓時間就靜止在那裏. 老實說, 對於自己的父母, 實在有太多的對不起. 自己做事一向不喜歡佔人便宜, 也儘量不虧欠人, 但是對於父母親, 實在是虧欠得太多太多, 怎麼也還不清.
新的一年, 希望家人都能健康平安, 也希望身旁的每個人都能 幸福 快樂 與 順利.

We visited one of mum's aunts who shared with us several classic recipes. She had them written down in this diary from 1961.
I've kept a diary on & off (mostly off) for a long time. However, I've been writing in one every day since the first of January 2003. I look at them from time to time to check on things but more often just to think back to what I was doing a few years ago. I wish I had diaries going back much further.

【关于影片】
21岁的安妮就读于大学毕业了。她认为自己的理想生活状态，应该是无拘无束，不用为生活担忧，乾着自己感兴趣的工作。可是实际生活是，安妮不得不和别人合租一间公寓，过着紧巴巴的日子，还不时地被当护士的老妈唠叨。为了赚点生活费支付房租，为了不让老妈整天念叨，也为了给自己找个实习的机会，安妮决定去当保姆。
一次偶遇，安妮结识了X太太（劳拉·琳妮饰演）和她4岁的儿子格莱尔。X太太一家住在纽约上东区第五大道，很显然，能住在这儿的都是最富裕的家庭，而当这种家庭的保姆只有两个要求：一是照顾好孩子；二是确保从不下厨、从不打扫和从不带孩子的女主人过上舒适的每一天。

We froze Kerri's panties at a slumber party! Eeeek! And lots of other stupid/mean things. But it was all in good fun. No matter, because she won: She became a cheerleader and was way more popular than I was anyway.
This is from the diary of Mary Anne Frances Wilmot. She came from Oystermouth in Wales, and was 9 years old when she started it.

13th Sunday. The Themometer was below freezing point. We went out with Papa in the morning & all the pools were frozen, it was very cold. In the evening we went for a very long walk with Anne.
14th Monday. The Themometer was at freezing point in the morning at 8 o’clock. After breakfast we went for a walk on the Treille with Papa it was very cold. After dinner Sarah went to the gymnastic lesson & when she came back Augusta and I went for a walk with Anne. Miss Tremlet came for Augusta. Mademoiselle Vincent came.
15th Tuesday. One & ½ below freezing point. Madelle Mieville came at 10 o’clock, & then Madame Mathiew came for our dancing lesson. In the afternoon I had a bad headache.
16th Wednesday. In the morning Madelle Geschier came, she teaches Mama and me french, we like her very much.
17th Thursday. f.p. at 8 o’clock.
"Friday 25th [December 1874] Christmas Day: Fine warm day. Pretty good sleighing. Rode to church with Paddy, his mother and Mary. Called at Joseph's going out. The two girls went with us. Paid mother $5.00 Dollars."
"Saturday 26th: Fine day quite warm. Drawed wood from Griffins woods with Tim & Art Callighans teams that I bought from M. Kerby. Kerby at house for supper. I paid him $6 75/100 for 4 1/2 cords that I drawed that day. Paddy went to station house for Ellen & got home about 3 OClock."
"Sunday 27th: Fine day, poor sleighing. Went to church with Paddy. Staid at Josephs for dinner. Mary quite sick."
"Monday 28th: Dark day, rained some. Michael Thomas & Mary J. Barrett come to house. The 2 boys went to P. Brennans after 2 heifers & 1 bull. Staid at house and fed cattle. Had super & all went to P. Hashes ball. Paid for the boys. Got home at 7 OClock in the morning."

一直以來都是個蠻會鑽牛角尖的人, 說好聽點就是做事執著 不輕易放棄. 面對大部份的事情, 總是會試著堅持到最後, 總是會想說一定還有什麼辦法或還能努力的地方, 只要不放棄 就一定會有成功的機會. 然而, 有些事不是你不放棄就行的. 就如同父親的離去, 即便有再多的不能接受, 但它就是發生了. 有時候看到之前幫父親拍攝的照片, 還是會有滿滿的不捨與歉意.
完成父親的告別式後, 將家中的物品整理了一下, 就將母親帶回台北同住照顧. 所幸之前在跟姊姊說要帶母親北上, 但日間照護還想不到合適方法時, 姊姊才告訴我說她在幾個月前已經申請退休了, 所以在外籍看護報到之前, 日間的照料都可以由她來負責, 而我在下班後再回家接手. 接母親北上的事情進行的還算順利, 母親也獲得比以前更多的照顧. 每天姊姊都會推車帶著她四處遊玩, 體驗一下台北人的生活.
目前租屋處只是個 11 坪 左右的小地方, 但與母親同住還算寬敞. 考慮到幾個月後若看護報到, 空間上就完全不足夠, 於是就開始四處查看較大的房型. 接洽了幾位附近準備出租 2-3 房的房東, 明顯感覺到屋主不太希望有老人入住的態度. 有點沮喪之下, 還興起了乾脆買房的念頭. 但後來想想, 考慮到當前市況, 還是不想在這個時機下手, 加上也完全沒有看房能力的準備, 急著購屋的風險也蠻高的. 所幸仔細想過之後, 還是有個較為可行的最終備案, 目前就只能走一步算一步了.
前兩天, 姊姊邀在彰化的表姊一起北上陪母親, 表姊就暫時寄住在我目前的住處. 每回下班回到住處, 與母親和兩位姊姊擠在目前的小窩中, 的確能明顯地感到擁擠. 朋友聽說了, 還羨慕我說就好像住在女生宿舍裏面一樣, 但我心裏稍微計算了一下後回說, 可是是平均年齡超過 63 歲的女生宿舍耶, 這樣也會覺得羨慕嗎?
父親雖然年事已高, 但之前身體還算硬朗. 每天早上都會騎著我買給母親的電動四輪車, 帶著他的助行器, 就四處去採買東西. 在五年前大腸癌手術後, 體重一度掉到 70 公斤以下, 在母親悉心的照料之下, 後來又胖到了 80 幾公斤. 但反觀母親的身體狀況就沒以前好, 於是後來變成是父親在照顧著母親的起居. 外籍看護也是以照顧母親為名義而申請, 只是原本也計畫能一併照顧到父親, 減少他生活上的負擔, 然而卻沒辦法等到那一天.
新的生活上還是有一些不容易的地方, 但還是相信只要努力不放棄, 就能讓一切都進行得好. 只希望母親能適應在台北的生活 並過得健康與開心, 接下來能挑到一位好的看護 並把居住的問題順利解決後, 自己才能鬆一口氣. 但老實說, 在經歷了父親的事情之後, 自己已經不敢再鬆下任何一口氣. 人, 也只能在老天爺拋下的重重考驗中, 不斷地突破與前進.
