El espectro de la luz blanca, por el suelo de casa, un atardecer de junio. La luz desparramada (joder! cuantas aes tiene esta palabra) por el suelo de la cocina de mi casa un atardecer de junio, con las farolas crepusculares aun apagadas claro, A veces hay que agacharse hasta el suelo, humillarse ante los dioses, esperar lo indecible, para conseguir ver algo bello a solas, para tener la sensación de que lo posees, que lo captas, que lo clickas, que lo acaricias, que lo besas, que lo envias, que lo mezclas con sueños repetitivos, que lo adjuntas, que lo bailas, que lo sudas, que es tuyo... algo como la luz por ejemplo, que como todo el mundo sabe es libre e incautivable. O como las diagonales... pero eso es otra historia...

El Parc de la Diagonal Mar és de visita obligada. Perquè parla de la nova Barcelona i perquè, anar-hi, és una experiència poc comparable amb la visita d'altres parcs urbans. En aquesta ambiciosa obra contemporà nia entenem que la nova Barcelona vol ser una ciutat capdavantera en originalitat i arquitectura sostenible.
L'equip format pel matrimoni d'Enric Miralles i Benedetta Tagliabue van arribar, amb l'execució del Parc de la Diagonal Mar l'any 2002, a la culminació de la idea d'arquitectura innovadora i sostenible. Situat a la nova Barcelona del Fòrum, als terrenys d'una antiga fà brica, aquest parc de 14 hectà rees es distribueix en set grans espais. Cada espai pretén despertar evocacions diferents. Una gran zona de jocs infantils, una passarel·la elevada sobre l'aigua, el llac amb escultures que expulsen aigua vaporitzada, les estructures de tubs ondulants, la gran plaça central, etc, són à rees clarament diferenciades però sempre cohesionades per un element comú: l'aigua.
L'aigua que transcorre per l'estructura tubular elevada que avança per tot el parc com una gran aranya. Aquesta lÃnia en moviment abraça de tant en tant jardineres en suspensió que recorden l'arquitectura orgà nica de GaudÃ. Els tubs, a més de ser l'òrgan que unifica el trencaclosques del parc, permeten que per dins hi circuli l'aigua freà tica que rega els jardins. Tot un enginy tècnic i decoratiu que s'entronca amb el criteri de sostenibilitat amb el qual s'ha dissenyat el Parc de Diagonal Mar, ple d'ecosistemes i on la natura passa a ser controlada per la mà de l'home.

The Parc de la Diagonal Mar is a must-see for visitors because it epitomises the new Barcelona and is quite unlike any other city park. This ambitious contemporary work encapsulates Barcelona’s desire to become a city at the forefront of originality and sustainable architecture.
The architectural practice of the husband and wife team of Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue reached the pinnacle of innovative and sustainable architecture with their design of the Parc de la Diagonal Mar in 2002. Located in the new Forum Barcelona, on a disused factory site, this 14-hectare park is divided into seven large areas. Each area was designed to evoke different sensations. A large children’s play area, a raised walkway over water, the lake with sculptures which spray out water, the curved tubular structures, the giant central plaza, etc, are clearly defined areas which are linked by a common element: water
Water that flows through the raised tubular structure that spiders its way through the park. This moving line occasionally coils around suspended plant pots which are reminiscent of Gaud۪̉s organic architecture. In addition to being the linking element of the jigsaw puzzle of the park, the tubes also convey groundwater which irrigates the gardens. A technological and decorative wonder which fits in with the sustainability criteria that formed the basis of the design of the Parc de Diagonal Mar, full of ecosystems and where nature is controlled by man.

El Parque de la Diagonal Mar es de visita obligada, porque habla de la nueva Barcelona y porque ir es una experiencia poco comparable con otros parques urbanos. En esta ambiciosa obra contemporánea entendemos que la nueva Barcelona quiere ser una ciudad pionera en originalidad y arquitectura sostenible.
El equipo formado por el matrimonio Enric Miralles y Benedetta Tagliabue llegaron, con la ejecución del Parque de la Diagonal Mar en 2002, a la culminación de la idea de arquitectura innovadora y sostenible. Situado en la nueva Barcelona del Fòrum, en los terrenos de una antigua fábrica, este parque de 14 hectáreas se distribuye en siete grandes espacios. Cada espacio pretende despertar evocaciones diferentes. Una gran zona de juegos infantiles, una pasarela elevada sobre el agua, el lago con esculturas que expulsan agua vaporizada, las estructuras de tubos ondulantes, la gran plaza central, etc, son áreas claramente diferenciadas pero siempre cohesionadas por un elemento común: el agua.
El agua que transcurre por la estructura tubular elevada que avanza por todo el parque como una araña. Esta lÃnea en movimiento abraza de vez en cuando jardineras en suspensión que recuerdan la arquitectura orgánica de GaudÃ. Los tubos, además de ser el órgano que unifica el rompecabezas del parque, permiten que por su interior circule agua freática que riega los jardines. Todo un avance técnico y decorativo que entronca con el criterio de sostenibilidad bajo el cuál se ha diseñado el Parc de Diagonal Mar, lleno de ecosistemas y donde la naturaleza pasa a ser controlada por la mano del hombre.

I would have moved farther back to make the stairs look more like one step.

the diagonal lines on this berg indicate that it wasn't always this way. It had flipped at some point as the waterline was different. may have happened when the chunk broke off. Near St. Anthony, Newfoundland.
